According to a report from 2022, in 2016, the Foundation's Quran distribution arm, the Al-Furqaan Project, received a $1.6 million donation from the RAF Foundation, which is reportedly linked to Qatar's ruling family. Omar Baloch, a scholar in residence at the Al-Furqaan Foundation and instructor at its Furqaan Institute of Quranic Education (FIQE), delivered a Friday sermon at the Furqaan Masjid in February 2024. In previous statements, Baloch has accused Israel of creating global 'disorder' on behalf of 'the bankers' (January 2024). In 2020, he interviewed Omar Zaid, who claimed that Zionists and the British Empire are controlled by 'high-degree Satanic magi,' that former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is a 'High Priest member' of the Jewish Sanhedrin, and that the Jewish intelligentsia serve the cause of evil.

Colorado Imam Karim Abu Zaid In Illinois: The West Invented The Notion Of 'Abrahamic' Faiths To Legitimize Israel In The Region; If Jews Want To Follow Moses, They Should Also Follow Jesus And Muhamma
Colorado‑based imam Dr. Karim Abu Zaid said in a Friday, July 4, 2025 sermon at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines, Illinois that the Western world has realized the Middle East revolves around faith and religion, and that the Zionist State of Israel has been planted in a region of Muslims and Christians. This led them, he said, to "blend" Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and "spices" from other faiths to create what he called the "Abrahamic faith." Abu Zaid stated that Muslims are not like the Western world and that tolerance does not mean compromising their belief system in order to appear tolerant. He added that Muslims are the true followers of Moses, not the Jews, and that if the Jews want to be among the true followers of Moses, they should follow Jesus and then the Prophet Muhammad. Karim Abu Zaid: "The Western world realized that the conflict in the Middle East is based on religion. They realized that faith is the shaker of this part of the world. People believe in something there. Now, we inserted a body called the Zionist State of Israel within that environment. You've got Christians and Muslims... These are Zionists. [...] "[They said:] 'Let us come up with something that can be put together.' Like let's put Islam, Christianity, Judaism in a mixture and blend them together, and maybe add some spices here and there, some Buddhism, some Hinduism, and produce something called the Abrahamic faith. [...] "We are not like you. [...] "Tolerance, being tolerant, is in the area of treating people, interacting with people justly and fairly. But I'm sorry, I cannot compromise my belief system in order to appear tolerant to you. [...] "And you've got Muslim countries who are engaged in this conspiracy. Brothers and sisters in Islam – the Abraham Accords, the normalization, you hear that going over and over again... It will not sell, brothers and sisters in Islam. [...] "We are the true followers of Moses, not them. If the [Jews] want to be amongst those followers of Moses, they should follow Jesus and then Muhammad."

Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa on Suwayda Ceasefire: We Are Grateful to the Bedouin Tribes for Their 'Heroic Actions' against Druze 'Outlaw Groups,' but Maintaining Security Is the Responsibility of
Syrian President Ahmed Al-‑Sharaa called on the Bedouin tribes in the Suwayda area to abide by the ceasefire with the Druze and to heed the Syrian state's orders in a July 19, 2025, address aired on Al‑-Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia). He thanked the Bedouin tribes who attacked Druze residents of Suwayda for what he called their 'heroic actions,' saying they stepped in for the absent Syrian government forces. Al-‑Sharaa claimed this absence allowed Druze groups to commit human rights violations against Bedouins, which led the Bedouins to retaliate. He effectively blamed the Druze in Suwayda, which he referred to as 'outlaw groups,' for the attacks against them. Al‑-Sharaa praised the Bedouin tribes as a 'symbol of lofty values and principles' who defend the oppressed. He said their actions were motivated by threats from the Druze but emphasized that, despite understanding these motives, such actions cannot replace the government's role. Only the government, he stressed, must carry out this responsibility.

Iraq arrests 11 local officials over deadly mall fire
Also in Iraq Iraqi top court to hear complaints against KRG-US energy deals Iraq parliament to probe drone attacks on Kurdistan Region Duhok crowned Iraq Cup champions Iraq launches security operation after drone attacks A+ A- ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Iraq's integrity commission on Sunday arrested 11 local officials, including the former municipal head of the eastern city of Kut, over a devastating fire that killed 63 people in a shopping mall earlier this week. A massive fire at a newly opened shopping mall in Wasit's provincial capital of Kut late Wednesday killed 63 people and sparked outrage from the Iraqi public over lax safety standards. Most deaths were caused by smoke inhalation, with no emergency exits in place for victims to use. 'The team formed by the Wasit Investigation Office was able to implement the judicial arrest against the former director of the Kut municipality due to violations committed in the construction of the Kut Hypermarket Mall,' the integrity commission said in a statement. Authorities also arrested ten local officials in Kut's civil defense and municipality, including the civil defense director and the head of the violations department in the municipality, 'due to the negligence and violations attributed to them,' according to the statement. The five-story building, spanning about 350 square meters, went up in flames on Wednesday night, with the fire starting on the building's second floor. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani vowed on Thursday to 'not show lenience with any negligent party' after ordering an investigation into the tragedy. The government agreed to provide 10 million dinars (around $7,600) in compensation for the family of each victim. The health ministry was also instructed to cover medical treatment for the injured, both inside and outside the country. Wasit Governor Mohammed Jamil al-Mayahi accused the hypermarket owner of bypassing regulations and opening the business illegally just two days before the fire. 'The investor opened the project fraudulently, without obtaining any official permits,' he told reporters in a press conference on Thursday. Fires are a recurring threat in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, where enforcement of fire and safety regulations is often inadequate. The risk increases significantly during the summer months, when extreme heat exacerbates the potential for electrical faults and other fire hazards. Contributing factors include aging infrastructure, overcrowded public spaces, poor electrical systems, and a widespread lack of basic fire safety measures.
