HDB Financial Services IPO listing: Shares of HDFC Bank-backed HDB Financial Services made a strong debut on the bourses on Wednesday, July 2, listing at ₹ 835 on NSE and BSE, a premium of 12.84 percent from its IPO price of ₹ 740.
The IPO, valued at ₹ 12,500 crore, was open for subscription from June 25 to June 27. In terms of overall issue size, HDB Financial's IPO stands out as the fourth largest public offering in India's history, trailing only behind the mega listings of Hyundai, LIC, and Paytm.
HDB Financial Services' initial public offering (IPO) wrapped up with a strong response, garnering a total subscription of 17.65 times over the three-day window. The issue received bids for 217.78 crore shares, significantly exceeding the 12.33 crore shares available on offer. Retail investors portion was subscribed 1.51 times and the non-institutional investor segment attracted 10.55 times bids. Meanwhile, the qualified institutional buyer (QIB) portion witnessed the strongest demand, subscribed 58.64 times. Moreover, the employee reservation segment saw bids reaching 6.03 times and the others category was booked 4.5 times.
The IPO was a combination of fresh issue of 3.38 crore shares aggregating to ₹ 2,500.00 crore and offer for sale of 13.51 crore shares aggregating to ₹ 10,000.00 crore. The minimum application size was 20 shares, implying a minimum investment of ₹ 14,800 from retail investors.
HDB Financial Services plans to utilise the net proceeds from its IPO to strengthen its Tier-I capital base. The enhanced capital will support the company's future funding needs across its various business segments, including enterprise lending, asset finance, and consumer finance. The capital infusion is also intended to facilitate onward lending as part of its growth strategy.
HDB Financial IPO also raised ₹ 3,369.00 crore from anchor investors on June 24, 2025.
The HDB Financial IPO is being handled by a consortium of prominent domestic and international investment banks serving as book running lead managers (BRLMs). These include BNP Paribas, JM Financial, BofA Securities, Goldman Sachs India, HSBC Securities, IIFL Capital, Jefferies India, Morgan Stanley, Motilal Oswal, Nomura, Nuvama Wealth, and UBS Securities. MUFG Intime India Private Limited (Link Intime) has been appointed as the registrar to the issue, overseeing tasks such as application processing, refunds, and share allotments.
Incorporated in 2007, HDB Financial Services is a retail-centric non-banking financial company (NBFC). In addition to its lending operations, the company also provides business process outsourcing (BPO) services, which include back-office support, collections, and sales assistance—primarily for its promoter. It also offers fee-based services such as the distribution of insurance products, mainly targeted at its lending customer base.
HDB Financial operates through an omni-channel "phygital" model that blends its extensive physical branch network with in-house tele-calling teams, external distribution partners, and digital channels to enhance customer reach and service delivery.

Lodha Developers, Oberoi Realty shares fall up to 6% after block deals

NEW DELHI: Shares of Oberoi Realty and Lodha Developers saw large block deals worth USD 395 million (Rs 3,412 crore) on the stock exchanges, dragging the shares of two real estate majors down by up to 6 per cent on Wednesday. The deals, executed via open market transactions, involved the sale of institutional stakes in both companies. In case of Oberoi Realty, around 11 million or 1.1 crore equity shares -- equivalent to 3 per cent of the company's equity -- changed hands for USD 230 million (Rs 1,987.02 crore ) at a floor price of Rs 1,753.20 per share, reflecting a 4 per cent discount to the previous close, as per a term sheet accessed by PTI. Following the stake sale, shares of the Oberoi Realty fell 4.16 per cent to Rs 1,750.20 apiece on the NSE. Goldman Sachs acted as the sole placing agent for both transactions. Similarly, Mumbai-based Lodha Developers saw a block deal of around 9.8 million shares or 98 lakh shares, representing 1 per cent of its stake -- being sold for USD 165 million (Rs 1,424.97 crore). The floor price for the Lodha block deal was pegged at Rs 1,384.60 per share, also translating to a 4 per cent discount to the previous close on the bourse. Following the deal, the scrip of Lodha Developers declined by 6.64 per cent to Rs 1,346.50 per piece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). "No confirmation was given on the identity of the seller or potential buyers, market participants expect the offloaded stakes to be picked up largely by domestic and foreign institutional investors, given the deal structure and volumes involved," sources said. Both block deals were executed as part of a clean-up trade by an existing stakeholder. The trades were conducted under Rule 144A and Regulation S guidelines, commonly used for placements to institutional and offshore investors, they added. Meanwhile, the selling pressure reflected in the NSE's Nifty realty index with all of its constituents trading in the red. The index fell 2.90 per cent to trade at 967.15, dragged down by losses in major stocks including Macrotech Developers (Lodha) and Oberoi Realty, which led the decline. Godrej Properties and Prestige Estates also witnessed significant losses, each shedding over 2 per cent in intraday trade. On Monday, Oberoi Realty reported a 28 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 421.25 crore for the quarter ended in June on lower income. The net profit stood at Rs 584.51 crore in the year-ago period. Its total income fell to Rs 1,073.98 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal from Rs 1,441.95 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding year. On the operational front, the company has sold properties worth Rs 1,639 crore in the April-June quarter of 2025-26 fiscal.

Bajaj Housing Finance's net profit up 20.86% in Q1 FY26

NEW DELHI: Bajaj Housing Finance has reported a growth of 20.86 per cent in its net consolidated profit in the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26. The company's profit after tax stood at ₹583.30 crore in Q1 FY26 as against ₹482.61 crore it registered in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing. The company's net consolidated total income stood at ₹2,618.45 crore in Q1 FY26, a growth of 18.55 per cent from ₹2,208.73 crore it recorded in the similar quarter last year. As of June 30, 2025, the company's net worth stood at ₹20,508.37 crore, debt-equity ratio was 4.31, total debts to total assets was 0.81, gross non-performing assets (NPA) was 0.30%, net NPA was 0.13%, capital to risk-weighted assets ratio was 26.94% and liquidity coverage ratio was 210.57%. The company's assets under management (AUM) grew by 24 per cent to ₹1.20,420 crore as of 30 June 2025 from ₹97,071 crore as of 30 June 2024. Loan losses and provisions for Q1 FY26 was ₹41 crore as against ₹10 crore in Q1 FY25. Provisioning coverage ratio on stage 3 assets at 56%.
