Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva: Odds and what to know ahead of UFC Fight Night 259 headliner
Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva preview
Lopes (27-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) and Silva (16-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) both fought on the same card of April's UFC 314 in Miami.
Lopes competed in the main event, falling short in a unanimous decision against Alexander Voplkanovski for the vacant featherweight title. The loss snapped a five-fight winning streak that turned Lopes from a UFC newcomer to a contender and one of the biggest stars in the division.
Meanwhile, Silva secured the biggest win of his career, submitting contender Bryce Mitchell in the main card. Silva is now on an impressive 13-fight winning streak, with five of those victories coming in the UFC. Silva's last career defeat took place in 2018 in the regional circuit of Brazil.
Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva odds
According to DraftKings, Lopes is +160 underdog to halt the momentum of the streaking Silva, who is a -192 favorite for his first UFC headliner.

UFC on ESPN 71 video: Austin Bashi rebounds from first loss, chokes John Yannis
Austin Bashi bounced back in a big way at UFC on ESPN 71 after stumbling in his octagon debut. The highly touted featherweight prospect was overwhelming against John Yannis (9-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who was overwhelmed by the grappling pressure from the outside and found himself trapped in a standing rear-naked choke from Bashi (14-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) for the submission at the 3:39 mark of Round 1 on Saturday at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out the replay of Bashi's handiwork below (via X): After the fight, Bashi reflected on what it took to get back in the win column after the 23-year-old suffered his first career defeat against Christian Rodriguez in January. "I've been working for this moment my entire life," Bashi told Michael Bisping post-fight after his win. "In January, it didn't go my way but I got back with my coaches and got the victory." UFC on ESPN 71 video: Andrey Pulyaev folds Nick Klein for first win in promotion
Andrey Pulyaev's first win in the UFC didn't need the judges. Pulyaev (10-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC), like his opponent and fellow Dana White's Contender Series vet Nick Klein, stumbled in his UFC debut. However, at UFC on ESPN 71, Pulyaev returned to the win column with an impressive TKO stoppage of Klein (6-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) at 1:31 of Round 2 in the middleweight preliminary bout. It wasn't smooth sailing to start for Pulyaev. In fact, Klein won the opening round on all three judges' cards behind an aggressive grappling approach. After the break between rounds, Pulyaev found space to let his strikes fly, and put together a finishing sequence started with a hard kick to the body. Check out video of the finish below (via X): The 27-year-old Pulyaev dropped a unanimous decision against Christian Leroy Duncan in his March debut, which snapped a five-fight winning streak that included his DWCS win over Liam Anderson last August.
