Respected former tennis players and sisters Venus and Serena Williams are the latest famous names to step into the podcast space, having announced their plans on Tuesday.
'We're so excited to be launching our new podcast, a place where we will share our personal stories, have authentic conversations, spotlight important topics, and laugh a lot,' the Williams sisters said in a joint statement.
The podcast All-American: Venus & Serena will surprisingly premiere on X (formerly Twitter) in August. The platform, acquired and rebranded by Elon Musk in 2022, now serves as the show's primary launchpad.

Surprise choice of X
Since X was acquired by billionaire Elon Musk, a figure known for attracting both strong support and criticism, several prominent celebrities announced their departure from X, opting to migrate to Bluesky.
Leading up to the 2024 US election, several X users felt that the platform was promoting far-right ideologies and personalities.
Former CNN anchor Don Lemon, actress Jaime Lee Curtis, and actress Gabrielle Union deactivated their accounts late last year, and former Charmed actress Alyssa Milano also deactivated her X account.
US publication The Guardian, which has about 27 million followers combined, announced its plans in November to stop engaging with the platform.
The Newspaper cited its worry about 'far-right conspiracy theories' and racism. It alleged the presidential election confirmed 'X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse.'
Serena has more than 10 million followers on X, while her older sister has 1.6 million followers.
'Venus and Serena are among the most recognisable and revered athletes in the world, and their decision to team up with X places them at the centre of our rapidly evolving original content strategy,' said head of original content at X, Mitchell Smith.
X's programming roster includes personalities and franchises such as Khloe Kardashian's Khloe in Wonderland and sports broadcaster Jim Rome's The Jungle.
X also had a partnership with the WNBA to livestream games during the 2024 season, reaching 5 million viewers.

'Visitors will truly feel that they are in Africa, with access to a Big 5 reserve with lions and elephants – Dinokeng – less than an hour's drive from Steyn City. No LIV event will be anything like this one and we are confident that the world's golf lovers will make travelling to ours, the world's most beautiful country, a must-do trip on their calendar. New South African drama 'Homecoming' to premiere this month
Mzansi Wethu (DStv Channel 163) is set to premiere Homecoming on 28 July at 18:30. This captivating new drama follows the story of Zethu Hlongwane (played by Mpume 'Six' Nyamane). Zethu is a straight-A medical graduate who faces shattered surgical dreams and returns to her rural home in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. Zethu's return to her roots is anything but easy, as after chasing big-city ambitions, she must now navigate the realities of her small town. The series explores themes close to the heart of many South Africans: dreams, disappointment, and the unbreakable ties of community, according to DSTV . Amahle Khumalo, known for her role in Empini , plays a fascinating character in Homecoming : Mthandeni Madlala, a young 'shebeen queen'. This role is quite different from typical portrayals. Amahle shares, 'I was quite shocked when I found out that Mthandeni runs her own shebeen. It pushed me and a friend out of our comfort zones. We spent time in shebeens in Alexandra and Soweto. We wanted to experience the culture deeply, not just the parties but the lives behind the scenes. I'm grateful to those who let me behind the curtain to see how a shebeen really works.' Mthandeni's life is complicated, as she is married to Shwabi, a powerful ward councillor in Bergville. He is charming, calculating, and not very faithful. 'He promised Mthandeni luxury, a car, a ring, a lifestyle. Now, she is envied by many girls in town,' Amahle explains. 'But as South Africans, we understand the dynamic of 'sugar daddies' and 'sugar babies'. Mthandeni may look glamorous, but she's trapped. She's yet to admit this isn't the life she truly wants.' She adds, 'When married to someone like Shwabi, you become his property. Your own wishes come last.' Amahle herself relates deeply to Zethu's journey. 'I went back home in 2023 to start over, reset my goals. Zethu's story isn't one of failure, it's a 'full circle' moment. She's a product of a loving community that has always supported her.' Though Zethu aimed to study in Johannesburg and build a career in Cuba, life brought her back to Bergville. 'She now has the chance to use her skills to help the very people who shaped her. Going back home is not failing, it's an opportunity.' The cast combines fresh and familiar faces. Alongside Amahle and Mpume are Sipho Manzini ( The Queen ), Khombi Phetla ( The River ), Mpilo Mbatha ( Shaka iLembe ) and Khayalethu Xaba ( Shaka iLembe ). Amahle expresses her fondness for the show: 'It's real and relatable. Every South African will see themselves in these characters. The writing is beautiful and unlike anything we've seen before.' Don't miss Homecoming starting Monday, 28 July at 18:30. The series will air Mondays to Wednesdays on Mzansi Wethu (DStv Channel 163). This new drama promises to be a heartfelt reflection of South Africa's hopes, struggles, and the power of community. HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED A 'FULL CIRCLE' MOMENT SIMILAR TO ZETHU'S STORY? Picture: Getty Images via AFP For those of us who grew up in the 1980s, Hulk Hogan was a household name, much like John Cena and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson are today. Hogan paved the way for many of today's WWE stars to grow beyond the wrestling franchise. Who is Hulk Hogan? Hulk Hogan was born Terry Gene Bollea on the 11 August 1953 in Augusta, Georgia. He started his professional wrestling career in 1977 and signed a contract with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in 1983. Hogan soon took the WWF by storm, becoming the first wrestler to win consecutive Royal Rumble matches. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of fame in 2005. In 2005, his reality TV show, Hogan Knows Best, aired on VH1. Wrestler Hulk Hogan appears on MTV's Total Request Live at MTV's Time Square Studios on 15 March 2006 in New York. Picture: Getty Images via AFP Hogan always wore a bandana on his head and proudly showed off his horseshoe/handlebar moustache. For much of the 80s, Hogan was the face of the WWF, and he paved the way for many modern wrestlers to follow suit. Five of the most iconic moments in Hulk Hogan's career Hulk Hogan acts in Rocky III (1982) One of Hogan's biggest Hollywood roles came in Rocky III, where he played a character named 'Thunderlips'. This was undoubtedly Hogan's biggest film role and helped him seal his professional contract at the WWF. Hogan signs a professional contract with WWF (1983) Shortly after his cameo in Rocky III, the WWF offered him a professional contract. Hogan was lured to the WWF by Vince McMahon, who saw him as the perfect face of the wrestling federation. Hulk Hogan body slams Andre the Giant to win Wrestlemania (1988) One of the most iconic matches in Hogan's career was against Andre the Giant. At the time, Hogan had been the reigning WWE champ for 1 474 days. Andre the Giant was the favourite to win the match but Hogan prevailed by body slamming his big opponent. This move won the match for Hulk Hogan, but caused a lifetime injury to his back. Hogan inducted into WWE Hall of Fame by Sylvester Stallone (2005) In 2005, Hulk Hogan finally got inducted into WWE Hall of Fame at the Universal Amphitheatre. The Rock vs. Hollywood Hogan (2002) One of the biggest modern matches for the rebranded Hollywood Hulk Hogan was when he wrestled against Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in the WWE. Although he did not win this match, it was one of the biggest matches to take place at the Toronto Skydome. This was the first match between the two opponents, drawing a lot of attention from fans, although it was not a title match.
