Prayers for peace held at Vaishno devi shrine
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) organised a hawan through sacred Vedic hymns at the holy shrine for invoking divine blessings for peace, harmony and well-being of the people of J&K and the entire nation.
Board chief executive officer (CEO) Anshul Garg and other officers and staff participated in the hawan led by a group of pandits. The event held at the yagyashala near Atka area of the sanctum sanctorum was aimed at upholding the sanctity and traditional essence of the rituals while ensuring their alignment with established religious practices.
On the occasion, the CEO highlighted that the shrine board has been consistently organising hawans, yagyas and other spiritual activities on significant occasions. He said that a large number of pilgrims are availing the facility of hawan and Nav Chandi Path at the new yagyashala on a routine basis. For convenience, devotees can book services online through the official website of the board.
The CEO reviewed the operationalisation of the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), along with the sub-control centres on the yatra track focused on enhancing the pilgrim safety and strengthening the security grid.

The government renamed Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan as International Ramayan and Vedic Shodh Sansthan in December 2023. The cultural department of the state government has been the Sansthan since August 18, 1986. The government has asked the Ayodhya administration to look for a land where the college could be set up. According to the Ayodhya administration, a six-acre plot near the Ayodhya Dham bus stand has been suggested for the project. According to Ashutosh Dwivedi, the in-charge of the Sansthan, it will take another two to three years for the college to start functioning from its own building. However, from next year, the institute will try to start some courses. The International Ramayan and Vedic Sodh Sansthan has been tasked with the responsibility of making available research work on Lord Ram to the public at a reasonable price. 'The basic principle of the Ramayana is Sanatan culture, which has its roots in the Vedic period. Keeping this in view, there is a need for research into Vedic science and literature in detail,' said Girishpathi Tripathi, the mayor of Ayodhya. At present, the institute will compile lectures and sermons by scholars and experts associated with the Ramkatha and Ramayana traditions.

Ashada festivities begin at Talupulamma temple
Kakinada: The Ashada month festivities at the famous Sri Talupulamma Ammavari Temple in Tuni mandal are being held with great devotion and traditional fervour. Members of the Tuni royal family, SRVV Srinivasa Raju, Prudhvi Raju, and Ramesh Raju visited the shrine along with their families. As part of age-old traditions, they offered silk saree and other sacred items (Cheera-Saare) to the presiding deity and performed special rituals. A large number of devotees participated in the special Kumkuma Archana conducted on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Temple Executive Officer P Vishwanadha Raju said that the Tuni royal family has been worshipping Sri Talupulamma Ammavaru for generations. He noted that presenting a saree and offerings to the goddess on the first Friday of Ashadam month by the royal descendants is a long-standing tradition, and it will continue. The executive officer honoured the royal family members with sacred Seshavastrams (holy cloths) and temple Prasadam. Vedic scholars and temple priests chanted Veda Ashirvachanam (Vedic blessings) as part of the ceremony.
