Honda Cars India has introduced the new City Sport special edition, which features sporty enhancements to the well-known sedan. The new Honda City Sport Edition is available starting at ₹ 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and includes various blacked-out elements on both the exterior and interior to enhance its unique appeal. This new City Sport Edition will be offered in limited quantities and competes with the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna within the segment.

In terms of features, the City Sport Edition is equipped with all the well-known components, such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice command functionality, a four-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, a dual-pod instrument cluster featuring an MID unit, Level 2 ADAS, and much more.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited has announced a recall for its recently launched lineup. The recall includes two sedans, namely Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia. It also consists of three SUVs- Skoda Kylaq, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. It must be noted that it is the second recall by the brand within a year. The brand has clarified that the models of the car may have seatbelt-related issues, for which the recall decision has been taken for models manufactured between December 2021 to May 2025. Skoda Kylaq The official recall document issued by SIAM reads- "This concern was identified during the ongoing quality inspection for Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq manufactured during the aforesaid period. 1. Rear seatbelt assembly (Left side / Right side)- Metal Base frame crack 2. Front/Rear seat belt incorrect part installed." Also, the data mentions that the recall affects 860 units of the Skoda cars (includes- Kushaq, Slavia & Kylaq) and 961 units of the Volkswagen models (Taigun & Virtus). Volkswagen Virtus While the newly launched Volkswagen Golf GTI and Taigan R Line face no trouble, as they are available as CBU. Following the recall, the brand is expected to directly reach out to the customer. Meanwhile, the existing user can also check for the recall notification for their models on the official website by entering their 17-character VIN or by visiting their nearest dealership. It must be noted that Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited also issued a recall for these car models in May due to similar seatbelt-related issues that affected a total of 47,235 units.

The Honda City Hybrid is now more affordable by ₹1 lakh, making it a more tempting buy than before Check Offers Honda Cars India has dropped the price on the City e: HEV, the hybrid version of the popular sedan. The Honda City Hybrid is now priced at ₹ 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fully loaded ZX variant, making it ₹ 1 lakh more affordable than before. The City e: HEV is the only hybrid sedan in its class, taking on the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and the like. Honda City Hybrid: Specifications The Honda City Hybrid is equipped with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with the Atkinson cycle, which is paired with an electric motor. The combined output stands at 124 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque, while mated to an eCVT. The major benefit of this setup is fuel efficiency with Honda promising 27.26 kmpl (ARAI certified). On the safety front, the hybrid sedan comes with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control and more. It also gets Honda's Lane Watch Camera, mounted on the passenger-side ORVM. The new City Sport Edition is available only with the pure-petrol engine option paired with the 7-step CVT automatic. It will be available in limited numbers. Honda Cars India has silently revised the prices of the City e:HEV or the City Hybrid in the Indian market. This comes along with the discontinuation of the V variant of the hybrid sedan. Hence, the only variant of the vehicle on sale is the ZX variant. It follows the launch of the City Sport Edition, which is an aesthetically upgraded version of the sedan. Diving into the details, the Honda City e:HEV now comes at a price of Rs 19,89,990 (ex-showroom). This makes it more affordable by Rs 95,010 when compared to the previous price of the model, i.e., Rs 20,85,000 (ex-showroom). This translates to a change of 4.56 per cent in the price. Before the changes in the variant lineup, the most affordable version of the car was available at Rs 19,00,100 (ex-showroom). It competes against models like Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna in the Indian market. However, if considering other body styles, there are options like Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder within the same budget. The City Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with two electric motors. This setup produces a combined output of 124.27 hp and 253 Nm of torque, coupled with an e-CVT transmission that enhances fuel efficiency and minimizes emissions. The manufacturer claims a fuel economy of 27.26 kmpl. The City e:HEV is equipped with multiple features, including Honda Sensing technology, which features advanced driver-assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, auto high beam, and collision mitigation braking. Furthermore, the sedan offers a spacious interior, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a comprehensive comfort package.
