Fit for 'The Don'? Isidingo star's grand tombstone revealed

Isidingo actor Don Mlangeni Nawa was honoured with a dignified funeral service and a larger-than-life tombstone erection over the weekend.
The 65-year-old veteran star died earlier this month after a battle with prostate cancer.
Like many late industry greats, Don Mlangeni Nawa was buried at West Park Cemetery's Heroes' Acre.
On Facebook, popular funeral provider Khaabo Tombstones shared a look at the gold and black granite tombstone they had designed and erected for the actor.
The stone featured a life-size portrait of Don, which was erected on three steps. On each stair was a list of the actor's industry achievements.
The company posted, 'Don Mlangeni was laid to rest the executive way, fitting for an icon!'
Don Mlangeni Nawa's tombstone is one of several celebrity creations spotted at Heroe's Acre.
Others include, Kwaito stars: Emmanuel Matsane 'Mjokes', Prokid, Mapaputsi, and Mshoza
Actors: Connie Chiume, Shona Ferguson, Joe Mafela
Artists: Robbie Malinga and Mandoza
During the funeral proceedings, Don's coffin was spotted being transported via a fire truck to his burial place at West Park Cemetery.
According to Sphesihle J Hadebe, this was due to the City of Ekurhuleni granting him a special civil funeral.
The coffin was draped in a South African flag and given an extraordinary send-off.

Real Housewives of Durban wins at KZN film and TV awards

Doig was not in attendance on the night, and the awards were accepted by the series director of Real Housewives of Durban. The popular reality TV show 'Real Housewives of Durban' won two awards on Saturday night at the Simon Mahube Sabela KZN Film and TV Awards. The show won the Best TV Production and Best Use of Cinematography awards, with the latter going to Lee Thomas Doig for his work on the fourth season. Doig was not in attendance on the night, and the awards were accepted by the series director of Real Housewives of Durban, Boitumelo Modise. 'Thank you for loving the show so much, showing so much support…for watching it, every episode that comes out,' said Modise, thanking the province. The wins are for the fourth season of the reality TV show. The 12th edition of the awards was held at the Durban ICC on Saturday evening. Celebration of KZN talent The night started off with the singing of the national anthem, followed by a performance by Phuzekhemisi and the Clermont Choir. The awards are named after legendary South African actor and filmmaker, Simon Mabhunu Sabela. Sabela is South Africa's first black film director. He directed films like Ikati Elimnyama, a renowned South African comedy film, and Ngaka, which starred Somizi Mhlongo's father, Ndaba Mhlongo. 'We'd like to thank the Simon Sabela Awards for this beautiful award, but also for celebrating KZN talent,' said Modise. 'There is so much talent in this province and I'm so glad there's a platform that celebrates it and uplifts it and gives us more opportunities to make more work,' said Modise. 'On behalf of the cast and the crew and of course the gorgeous ladies that opened up their lives and showed us intimate, vulnerable moments of their lives,' concluded the series director. Green and gold gees: Springbok newbie weeps during national anthem

It was an emotional affair for Springbok newbie Neethling Fouche, who wept during the performance of the South African national anthem during his debut test match for the team. The Stormers star was selected for the squad that played Georgia in Mbombela on Saturday, 19 July. South Africa won 55-10 against the Eurasian country. As they do every match, the Springboks were joined by thousands of rugby fans in the stadium and across South Africa as they belted out the national anthem. Joining them for the first time in a test match were three newbies, Boan Venter, Neethling Fouche, and Marnus van der Merwe. Nkosi Sikel iAfrika was sung by Corlea Botha, who wore a stunning emerald green gown to match the national team. During her performance, tears streamed down Fouche's face.
