KWAP Extends Community Outreach With Santuni MADANI Programme In Kampung Kandis
Kampung Kandis is one of eight villages in Mukim Kandis, which has a total population of about 4,000 residents.
Among the initial initiatives carried out under the programme was the handover of a hearse for the use of local residents, as well as the distribution of 100 MyPesara Prihatin packs containing basic necessities to government retirees, the asnaf, and the underprivileged.
The hearse was donated through wakalah zakat (tithe) funds, contributed via income tithe payments by KWAP employees to the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council's Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ-MAIWP).
The programme drew more than 500 local residents and featured various activities involving KWAP staff, fostering community spirit, unity and a sense of togetherness.
KWAP chief executive officer Datuk Hajah Nik Amlizan Mohamed said that, in addition to social assistance, the agency planned to continue implementing the programme in stages throughout the year, involving strategic collaboration with various parties, including the Kelantan State Education Department, Bachok District Education Office, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, non-governmental organisations and pensioner associations.
'KWAP views social responsibility as a long-term investment in national development. Such initiatives not only benefit the local community but also strengthen ties between organisations like us and the people, in support of the Malaysia MADANI spirit,' she said.
Nik Amlizan also expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation of the village head and school headmasters in the Bachok district, whom she described as key drivers of the programme's success.
'It is hoped that more parties will join in such efforts for mutual benefit,' she said.

The deceased was recovered by Adi Presetyo from the waters about four kilometers away from the shore of Pengambengan Village, Negara Subdistrict, Jembrana District, Bali, a local government official said. Rescue team then evacuated the deceased to a command post in Pabuahan Hamlet, Banyubiru Village, Negara Subdistrict, Acting Head of the Jembrana Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) I Putu Agus Artana Putra said. "The recovered body had been transported to the Blambangan Public Hospital in Banyuwangi District, East Java, for identification," he said. Putra added that the Pabuahan fishermen had recovered several bodies of the sunken vessel's passengers while out fishing in the aftermath of the ferry mishap. Meanwhile, Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) extended the search operation for humanitarian reasons from Saturday, July 12, to Monday, July 14. This followed an earlier three-day extension, which ended on July 11. Deputy for Search and Rescue Operations and Preparedness at the agency, Ribut Eko Suyanto, said earlier that his office would reevaluate whether another extension of the search period is necessary later. As of Friday evening, the 10th day of search operations, the death toll from the ferry mishap stood at 17, with 30 survivors and 18 people still missing. The Tunu Pratama Jaya roll-on/roll-off ferry was carrying 53 passengers, 12 crew members, and 22 vehicles when it departed Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java, at 10.56 pm local time on July 2, 2025. The vessel sank en route to Gilimanuk Port in Bali at around 11.35 pm local time on the same day. M'sia To Send Largest Contingent To World Scout Moot In Portugal
KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) – The Scouts Association of Malaysia (PPM) today handed over the national flag to the Malaysian contingent, symbolising their send-off to the 16th World Scout Moot 2025, which will take place in Portugal from July 24 to Aug 3. Chief Scout of Malaysia, Major General (Rtd) Datuk Prof Dr Mohd Zin Bidin said the participation serves as an important platform to foster global leadership among Malaysian youth. 'This aligns with our aspiration to nurture a younger generation that is ready to face an increasingly complex future,' he told reporters after the flag handover ceremony here today. Mohd Zin said this year's Malaysian contingent comprises 19 participants, including Rover Scouts and management team members, making it the country's largest-ever delegation in the history of the World Scout Moot. He also expressed appreciation to all parties involved — including parents, sponsors, and state scout associations — for supporting Malaysia's mission to Portugal. 'They are expected to be agents of change and to share the knowledge and experiences gained for the betterment of society and the nation,' he added. Organised every four years by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM), the programme gathers more than 8,000 Rover and adult Scouts from 100 countries and is designed specifically for youth aged 18 to 25. The 16th edition will take place across several key locations including Lisbon, Ovar, and Porto, with a focus on leadership development, cultural exchange, community engagement, and character building.
