After making a brief appearance during Week 1 of OTAs, Ravens MVP candidate and star quarterback Lamar Jackson was back at the Under Armour Performance Center for Day 1 of the team's mandatory minicamp. Baltimore had perfect attendance on the afternoon, and Tuesday provided the first official opportunity for the Ravens' retooled offense to take the field with Jackson at quarterback, Derrick Henry at running back, and an elite trio at wide receiver and a dynamic duo at tight end.
Jackson met with the media for the first time since the Ravens' playoff loss in Buffalo to the Bills five months ago, and the star quarterback acknowledged he still hasn't gotten over that defeat.

Baltimore would likely want a new deal with Jackson before the start of next offseason, when his 2026 salary cap figure soars to $74.5 million.
"I never discuss contract situations here," Jackson said. "I don't want to talk about it, if that's OK with you."

Jackson would speak on the Ravens potentially acquiring his former college teammate, and All-Pro cornerback, Jaire Alexander. Jackson said he has spoken with Alexander, who was a teammate at Louisville.

And according to the oddsmakers, the Saints - coming off a 5-12 season - have the lowest projected win total of any team in the NFL at 4.5. Ouch. 'A successful season as Eagles OC led Kellen Moore to a head coaching position, but he could be in for a nightmare season,' USA Today writes. 'His best quarterback had health concerns. Then, he retired. Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough will need to get up to speed quickly, or we could be in for another run by Spencer Rattler.' Advertisement Moore turns 37 on July 5, so he still qualifies as "one of the brightest young offensive minds in pro football,'' as is so often written. But he doesn't have Dak and CeeDee Lamb anymore. Nor does he have Barkley and Hurts and A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. He has, in New Orleans' offense, Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave and little else. The Eagles should be great again. The Cowboys think they'll be good. The Saints? they will likely be favored only four times all season, at best: twice against the lowly Carolina Panthers and Week 16 and 17 games against the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans. There are only 32 of these jobs, and Moore was due to get one. But the challenge is now about the avoidance of a "nightmare'' in the Big Easy. Davante Adams compares Matthew Stafford to Aaron Rodgers in a very encouraging way
'Matthew has that type of stuff still in his arm. ... Matthew's still got it.' Davante Adams spent the majority of his career catching passes from Aaron Rodgers, a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer. Adams was on the Green Bay Packers when Rodgers won three of his four MVP awards, including back-to-back in 2020 and 2021. Together, Adams and Rodgers were arguably the best quarterback-receiver tandem in the NFL, putting up eye-popping numbers together in their prime. Adams will now have the pleasure of playing alongside Matthew Stafford and though they've only been teammates for a couple of years, Adams sees similarities between Rodgers and Stafford. And we're not talking about the version of Rodgers who struggled at times last season. Adams told Ryan Clark at Fanatics Fest recently that Stafford has similar 'type of stuff in his arm' that Rodgers had when he was winning MVPs in 2020 and 2021. 'He told me something that really stood out,' Clark said on the Mina Kimes Show. 'He said, 'I got to play with an older Aaron.' He's like, 'Matthew has that type of stuff still in his arm.' And we're talking about the Aaron Rodgers that was able to come back and win two MVPs. He's like, 'Matthew's still got it.' He's like, 'That reminds me of that.'' Adams also added that Stafford plays with a ton of competitiveness without letting his ego get in the way. 'And he said he also has this level of competitiveness to him that you still see at practice without a-hole to it. And that really sparked my interest,' Clark added. Stafford and Rodgers are two of the oldest players still slinging it in the NFL and when healthy, both are playing at a high level. Neither is particularly mobile and elusive in the pocket anymore but they have incredibly strong arms and put zip on the ball effortlessly. When talking about arm talent, Rodgers and Stafford are both in the top tier – even at this point in their careers. Adams saw it with Rodgers and he's seeing it with the Rams quarterback now, too. Lynx's Napheesa Collier named WNBA All-Star Game captain
The Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier, an early frontrunner for WNBA MVP, was named one of the captains for the league's All-Star Game. Collier and the Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark will captain the two teams during the All-Star Game on July 19 in Clark's home stadium. The Lynx superstar finished second in fan voting behind Clark. Collier is leading the WNBA in points per game (24.4) as of Wednesday. She's also first in player efficiency rating, defensive win shares and defensive rating. No other Lynx players were named All-Star starters. The reserves will be announced on Sunday, and then Collier and Clark will draft rosters for the game. Minnesota native Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Dallas Wings in April, earned a starting spot. The Fever, sans Clark, beat Collier's Lynx in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final Tuesday night, during which halftime performer Red Panda was injured in a fall. The Lynx sit atop the WNBA standings at 14-2 as of Wednesday.
