"Prison Break" Reboot Pilot Adds Emily Browning to Cast

The 'Prison Break' reboot pilot at Hulu has added three series regulars.
Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger have all been cast in leading roles in the pilot, which was originally announced in December.
The pilot is set in the same world as the original 'Prison Break' but will tell a new story with new characters. The exact plot details are being kept locked up.
Browning stars as Cassidy Collins, described as 'an ex-soldier turned corrections officer takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America.' Gage will play Jackson in the pilot, said to be 'a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign.' And Rodger will play Tommy, 'an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America, incarcerated ten years ago.'
Browning has recently starred in shows like 'Class of '07' at FX, 'The Affair' at Showtime, and 'American Gods' at Starz.
The movie 'One More Shot,' in which she stars, recently premiered at SXSW. Her other movie roles include 'Legend,' 'Sleeping Beauty,' 'Sucker Punch,' and 'Shangri-La Suite.'
Gage has broken out in recent years with roles in the HBO shows 'The White Lotus' and 'Euphoria,' while he has also starred in 'You' Season 4, 'Dead Boy Detectives,' and 'Fargo' Season 5. In movies, he is known for 'Companion,' 'How to Blow Up a Pipeline,' 'Smile 2,' and 'Road House.'
Rodger recently starred in the 'Supernatural' prequel series 'The Winchesters' at The CW and appeared in multiple episodes of the hit Paramount+ series 'Landman.' He has also been in movies such as 'Murder RX,' 'Not Alone,' and 'Mantra.'
Elgin James is writing and executive producing the reboot pilot, with Dawn Olmstead, 'Prison Break' creator Paul Scheuring, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz also executive producing. 20th Television, which produced the original series, is the studio.

Kate Winslet Exits Hulu Series "The Spot"

Yara Sameh Oscar and Emmy winner Kate Winslet is no longer involved in Hulu drama series "The Spot". Winslet was attached as star and executive producer to the project, from creator/executive producer Ed Solomon and A24. The show, in a very competitive situation, landed at Hulu last August with a straight-to-series order. According to sources, the reasons behind her exit from the project are creative and related, at least in part, to how the show's evolution has impacted the required approach to the role. Conversations are underway with other A-list actresses, and production is still targeting a 2026 start once the role is recast. Created and written by Solomon, who will serve as showrunner, "The Spot" follows a successful surgeon — the role that is now being recast — and her school teacher husband who suspects she might be responsible for a child's hit-and-run death. While looking into the matter, dark secrets are revealed that will test their relationship as they confront the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal. The project was developed by A24, which serves as the lead studio, co-producing the series with Hulu sibling 20th Television. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

"MobLand" Renewed for Season 2

Yara Sameh Paramount+ has renewed its high-profile crime drama ' MobLand ' for Season 2. The series originally debuted on the streamer in March, with the Season 1 finale airing June 1. It has spent six weeks on the Nielsen Top 10 Original Series chart, with the most recent data being available for the week of May 19 – May 25. Furthermore, Paramount said the first episode has drawn 26 million viewers since its debut, with viewers defined by total global watch time divided by total run time in its first 70 days of availability. The company also says that the series is now Paramount+'s number two original of all time, behind only Taylor Sheridan's 'Landman.' 'MobLand' follows London crime family the Harrigans and their loyal fixer, Harry Da Souza (played by Tom Hardy), as they battle the authorities and other criminals in their attempts to hang on to power. Along with Hardy, the cast also includes Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan, and Emily Barber. 'MobLand' was created and written by Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth. Both serve as executive producers. Guy Ritchie is also an executive producer and directed the first two episodes. Hardy executive produces in addition to starring. Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, Glasser, Kris Thykier, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Anthony Byrne, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari also executive produce. The series is commissioned by Paramount+, produced in association with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. This is now Butterworth's second Paramount show to nab a second season under his TV overall deal with Paramount+ and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. Butterworth is also the co-creator of the Paramount+ with Showtime series 'The Agency' along with his brother, John-Henry Butterworth. That show, which is based on the French series 'Le Bureau des Légendes,' was picked up for Season 2 in December 2024. Production on the new season is already underway. 'MobLand' was greenlit in February 2024 and was originally intended to be a British take off on Showtime's 'Ray Donovan.' It evolved over the course of its development into a standalone series with no connection to that show, however. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Aaron Guzikowski to Pen Script of "Death Stranding" Animated Adaptation

Yara Sameh Aaron Guzikowski (Raised by Wolves) has been tapped to write the screenplay for an adult-targeted animated feature inspired by Hideo Kojima's hit action-adventure video game "Death Stranding". The signing was announced by Japanese games maestro Hideo Kojima's Tokyo and L.A.-based Kojima Productions and L.A.-based animation company Line Mileage. The partners say the movie, which is currently in development, will be in a similar vein to adult-targeted, animated genre films such as the recently announced John Wick animated prequel and sci-fi horror Predator: Killer of Killers, which released this month on Hulu and Disney+. It will feature an original story unfolding in the universe of Death Stranding, set in the wake of a series of cataclysmic explosions around the world, which result in the dead and living becoming connected. Guzikowski has won praise for his emotionally charged storytelling, with credits including sci-fi show "Raised by Wolves" and 2013 abduction drama "Prisoners" directed by Denis Villeneuve. 'I love the world of Death Stranding, it's so creatively freeing, so beautifully dark and yet hopeful; I'm so excited and honored that Hideo Kojima, whose work I've long admired, has invited me to dwell within his creation, to birth new stories into this fertile, mind-bending universe,' said Guzikowski. 'Drawing and animation have always been near and dear to my heart, so to finally get to play in this space is a dream come true.' Directed by Kojima and featuring performances by Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro, Death Stranding has been credited with redefining the dramatic potential of video games. A new version of the original game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – adding Elle Fanning to the cast – is due out on June 26. The new animated feature project is separate from a previously announced live-action adaptation being developed by Kojima Production with A24. Line Mileage is the animation production company of partners Jacob Robinson (Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft), Daniel Dominguez (Seis Manos), and Brad Graeber (Castlevania). Specializing in adult genre storytelling across animation, the team brings deep experience in adapting IP across games, comics, and beyond. Line Mileage CCO Daniel Dominguez said the cinematic quality of Death Stranding meant the game lent itself well to an animated movie adaptation. 'As an avid gamer, I can say, unequivocally, Death Stranding is the most cinematic, thought-provoking video game I have ever played,' he said. 'Playing it gave me the same emotional rush, visceral punch, and intellectual pleasure I had the first time I watched Blade Runner, or Ghost in the Shell. Adapting it into a form it so naturally evokes is an honor. And for Aaron Guzikowski to lend his talents, whose authorial mind and creative energy humble me… needless to say, this project is a dream come true.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
