Morocco, Jordan Discuss Closer Parliamentary Cooperation
The visit forms part of a cooperation program between the Jordanian Parliament and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, aimed at strengthening parliamentary practices, particularly in financial oversight.
Sabbari emphasized the strong ties between Morocco and Jordan, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and HM King Abdullah II, and reiterated Morocco's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation at the legislative level, according to a press release from the Moroccan Parliament.
He underscored the importance of deepening exchanges between parliamentary committees and reinforcing the work of the Morocco-Jordan Parliamentary Friendship Group. He also praised Jordan's consistent support for Morocco's territorial integrity and the autonomy plan proposed by Rabat to resolve the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
For his part, Al-Fuqaha said the visit offers an opportunity to learn from Morocco's experience in parliamentary financial oversight and voiced Jordan's interest in fostering closer institutional ties between committees and friendship groups from both parliaments.
The Jordanian delegation's visit is aimed at expanding collaboration and aligning parliamentary practices in line with the aspirations of both heads of state and the interests of the two nations' peoples, the same source added.

Rabat — Morocco welcomed over 1.5 million diaspora members back home by July 10, marking a significant 13.30% increase compared to the same period last year. The maritime plan now includes 29 ships operated by seven different companies, running across 12 routes that connect Moroccan ports with destinations in Spain, France, and Italy. These expanded sea routes can now handle 7.3 million passengers and two million vehicles — a 3% capacity increase from last year's operation. The Marhaba operation reflects Morocco's commitment to maintaining strong ties with its diaspora community, which plays a crucial role in the country's economy through remittances and investments. CNDH: Morocco, Palestine Unite for Joint Human Rights Initiatives and Capacity Building
Rabat — The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and the Human Rights and Civil Society Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) concluded a weeklong training program in Rabat today, culminating in the signing of a cooperation protocol between the two sides. The Palestinian delegation, which included human rights and political representatives from the PLO, has been on an official visit to Morocco to strengthen ties and exchange expertise in the field of human rights. The closing session was chaired by Amina Bouayach , president of the CNDH, and Ahmad Said Al-Tamimi, head of the PLO's Human Rights and Civil Society Department. During the ceremony, the two officials formalized their commitment to continued collaboration by signing an agreement to deepen cooperation and develop joint mechanisms for the protection and promotion of human rights. She also acknowledged the serious challenges facing Palestinian human rights institutions, including mounting restrictions on civic space and persistent targeting of human rights defenders. These circumstances, she said, reveal the need for stronger cooperation and joint advocacy to support justice and fairness. The agreement outlines several areas of collaboration, including capacity building, exchange of information and knowledge, dialogue, and monitoring of relevant UN processes and jurisprudence. This initiative marks the first training of its kind between the Moroccan council and the Palestinian delegation and highlights Morocco's ongoing engagement with regional human rights issues, with the Palestinian cause remaining central to its human rights agenda.
