CP Ravinder Singal has issued instructions to crack down on flesh trade rackets in the city.The team of senior inspector Amol Deshmukh and assistant PI Sachin Bhonde busted the racket involving Assamese residents late on Tuesday evening, in their third attempt within a month, and cash Rs31,000 was seized along with four mobiles. Rizul Ali Ismail Ali and his accomplice Rahanuddin Sahabuddin, natives of Assam, had taken up a posh spa at Shraddhanand Peth and converted it into a flesh trade racket. The actions on the flesh trade were supervised by DCP Crime Rahul Maknikar and ACP Abhijit Patil.Apart from a young woman from Nepal, they involved two more from Arunachal Pradesh, one from Nagaland, and another local resident to cater to customers who paid Rs4,000 for an hour. Sources said the young woman from Nepal had worked in another flesh trade den before shifting to the one operated by Ali and Sahabuddin from February.The north-eastern women rescued during the raid said they were brought to the city with promise of jobs but pushed into flesh trade. Mainly from economically weak families, the north-eastern young women have been sent to shelter homes. The families of the rescued girls will be informed and they will be released only to the kin through a court order, said an official. The case was handed over to the Bajaj Nagar police station. "The women offered massages followed by other sexual activities, but access was only given to some known customers," said an insider, adding that north-eastern women are most preferred in the sex trade as they are known to be bolder and flamboyant.In the second raid on Wednesday, the social service unit of the crime branch under senior inspector Omprakash Sontakke busted a sex racket at Sai Baba Nagar on Kharbi Road, rescuing women from Odisha and Uttarakhand during the action. Nutan Kalsarpe was arrested from the spot while her husband, Sachin, has gone underground. The two had previous crime records against them, including one related to narcotics. Kalsarpe was handed over to Wathoda police station. The cops also seized condoms, cash Rs3,000, and other materials from the spot. The two rescued women were also sent to the shelter home.

Punjab: Man linked to BKI arrested over grenade attack on Batala police station
The Delhi Police has arrested a 22-year-old man allegedly associated with the banned terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) involved in a grenade attack on a police station in Punjab earlier this year, an officer said on Sunday. A post claiming responsibility for the attack had surfaced on social media, allegedly shared by BKI operatives Happy Passia, Mannu Agwan and Gopi Nawanshahria,' the DCP added. According to police, Karanbir revealed during interrogation that he was in contact with a BKI handler based abroad through social media and was receiving instructions to carry out terror activities. ' Karanbir travelled to a West Asian country last year and received money for the April attack. He revealed that he had sheltered two men at his house before carrying out the attack,' the DCP said. 'His brother Gursewak, also involved in the conspiracy, has already been arrested by investigating agencies,' the DCP added.

Couple Find Surrogate Baby's DNA Not Linked To Them, Doctor Arrested In Major Surrogacy Racket
Last Updated: An illegal surrogacy and baby-selling racket was busted in Hyderabad with the arrest of at least 10 people, including a doctor. A major illegal surrogacy and sperm trafficking racket has unravelled in the twin city of Hyderabad-Secunderabad. The Hyderabad police raided a fertility centre in Regimental Bazaar after a couple found out that the DNA of their child, born through surrogacy catered by the fertility centre, does not match with them. Police have arrested at least 10 persons in connection with the case, including a doctor. The accused, Dr Namrata, is the manager of Universal Srushti Fertility Centre in Regimental Bazaar. As per the police, the accused used to target vulnerable women, particularly those seeking abortions, and lured them into continuing pregnancies in exchange for money and other reasons. The newborns were handed over to the couple who had approached the clinic for surrogacy. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone-Hyderabad) S Rashmi Perumal said people were misled by the clinic into believing the babies were biologically theirs. Charged Rs 35 Lakh For Surrogacy The couple who approached the police stated that they had approached the fertility clinic in August 2024 for fertility and IVF consultation. Dr Namratha conducted their fertility-related tests and advised them to go for surrogacy. The DCP told PTI that the couple was directed to another branch of the clinic at Visakhapatnam for collection of specimens and were told that the surrogate would be arranged by the clinic and the embryo would be transplanted to the surrogate. Over the course of nine months, the couple made several payments to the clinic. In June this year, the complainant was informed that the surrogate had delivered a baby boy via C-section in Visakhapatnam. Overall, the clinic took over Rs 35 lakh from the couple as consultation charges for the procedures, police said. The baby boy and a 'false" birth certificate document were given to the couple. When the couple tried to get in touch with the clinic they were refused any documentation and were threatened, which prompted them to approach the police, the senior police official said. Illegal Rackets Operated Across Multiple Locations Based on the complaint, a detailed investigation was conducted on Saturday which revealed that Dr Namratha was allegedly conducting a large-scale illegal surrogacy and fertility 'scam". The main accused operated fertility centers in Vijayawada, Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Kondapur, police said. Over the years, she expanded into unethical and illegal practices, collecting Rs 20-Rs 30 lakh from each client under false promises, police said. With the help of the medical department, the clinic at Gopalapuram in Hyderabad was sealed, police said.
