Matt Sherratt wants Wales' win against Japan ‘to be the start of something'
It earned Wales their first Test win since beating Georgia at the 2023 World Cup.

Sherratt took over as interim head coach following the departure of Warren Gatland during the Six Nations Championship in February and he hopes Saturday's win can help his successor start with a clean slate.
'A very passionate group of players and staff. There's some real talent as well,' Sherratt told a post-match press conference.
'Today is the end of a long season, but for Welsh rugby it's got to be the start of something.
'The next guy coming in – the big motivation for the group was to let whoever that is start on a level playing field without the burden of the 18 in a row around his neck.
'That was a big motivation for me coming in. The work's got to be done now with the national coaches in the regions, lets get into the regions and help develop a good young group of players.'

Sherratt had overseen four of those 18 defeats coming into Saturday's contest and expressed his delight for Wales' players and staff to finally earn a win as emotions ran high at full-time.
He added: 'For me, it's about the people. As I said before, I've genuinely never wanted to win a game of rugby so much.
'I'm not around it being win or loss. I'm more around I know what the group has put in – I've been around for four games, but I see what it means to them, what it means to the staff.
'I was so pleased for this group, there's not been a more deserving group that I've worked with, so it was pretty emotional.
'I had to get Gethin Jenkins to give me a slap around the face to get in check because as you'd seen, I could have easily embarrassed myself on TV.'
Wales took a 21-10 lead into half-time thanks to efforts from Adams and Hardy, before Shuhei Takeuchi scored before the break.
Edwards' penalty extended the visitors' advantage, but they suddenly found themselves in trouble when converted tries from Warner Dearns and Dylan Riley closed the gap to two points.
However, Wales were able to see the game out after a brilliant piece of individual skill from Taine Plumtree saw him fire a reverse pass into Edwards and the fly-half dived over the line to wrap up the win.
Reflecting on the game, skipper Dewi Lake added: 'I'm over the moon, it's been a long time coming.
'I look back at tough results we've had over the last 18 months, couple of one-pointers, couple of two-pointers. We were probably in the driving seat last week and let it slip.
'To dig in and get the job done today is an amazing feeling.'

A cagey hour of football followed and penalties were needed, with England stars Hannah Hampton and Chloe Kelly the heroines. Here is how SunSport's Emillia Hawkins rated the performances. Hannah Hampton - 10 READ MORE IN FOOTBALL HAM IT UP Eagle-eyed fans stunned at where England keeper kept her penalty 'cheat sheet' Took inspiration from Mary Earps in the 2023 World Cup final, playing with confidence from the off. There was nothing really she could do about Spain's opening goal given the power behind the ball from Caldentey's header. Hampton stayed composed throughout and was the hero once again in the shootout, saving twice. 12 Lucy Bronze - 8 Initiated an early England attack with a long ball over to Russo in the opening stages, but let Caldentey breeze past her perhaps a bit too easily when Spain broke the deadlock. Made a few errors but also made some important clearances. A good performance overall. Revealed at full-time that she played the entire tournament with a broken tibia. Incredible. 12 Leah Williamson - 8 Captain fantastic. Another solid performance from the centre-back, leading by example. Missed a penalty in the shootout, but it didn't matter. 12 Jess Carter - 9 Started nervously but became one of England's most important players, making some crucial interceptions and challenges. Keira Walsh - 7 The England midfield faced relentless pressure from the likes of Patri Guijarro, Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas throughout, and Walsh was the player marked most heavily. However, she still managed to put in a good shift in midfield. 12 Georgia Stanway - 7 Another composed performance from the midfielder despite facing intense pressure from the Spanish midfield. She played a part in the England equaliser, sending the ball out wide to Kelly for the assist. Put her body on the line several times until she was eventually forced off in extra-time. Ella Toone - 7 Completed 100 per cent of her passes when she was on the pitch before being subbed off for Beth Mead. Another performance to be proud of. 12 Lauren Hemp - 7 Never stopped running. Even deep in extra-time she was still able to find enough energy to chase down the Spanish defenders. Another good performance from the winger. 12 Alessia Russo - 8 Once again played with fantastic energy, putting all the work in up front just as she has been doing for the entire tournament. Finally rewarded with another goal, heading the ball nicely into the top-left corner. 12 Lauren James - 6 Didn't have much influence on the match going forward but made some important defensive contributions. Unfortunate to be forced off early due to injury. SUBSTITUTES: Chloe Kelly (for James, 40) - 9 Had an instant impact - once again. The winger made her presence known by sending a perfect cross into Russo for the equaliser. She then scored the winning penalty. Mrs. Reliable. 12 Michelle Agyemang (for Russo, 71) - 7 Did more defensive work than attacking due to Spain's press, but played a huge part in the late stages. Deservedly awarded Young Player of the Tournament. What a month for the 19-year-old. Beth Mead (for Toone, 87) - 7 Added some much-needed energy in the late stages. Stepped into the centre of midfield, out of position, and did not look out of place at all. Niamh Charles (for Bronze, 106) - 8 Looked very composed off the bench in defence and made some important challenges under difficult conditions. Scored her penalty to help England to glory. Grace Clinton (for Stanway, 115) - 7 Didn't have too much time to make an impact.
