MCU Star Shuts Down Marvel Cinematic Universe Return Rumors
While this may be disappointing for some fans that were hoping for a comeback, the star did insist that there could still be an opportunity in the future. As for the most recent slew of rumors, however, those had to be shut down.
Of course, Marvel stars have a tendency to shut down rumors in an effort to keep their appearances a surprise, so fans will still speculate either way.
Here's what the star had to share while speaking with Entertainment Tonight:
'It's not true!' says Kerry Condon, the Marvel star who played the voice of artificial intelligence F.R.I.D.A.Y. in several MCU projects. After replacing Tony Stark's artificial intelligence J.A.R.V.I.S. in the film Avengers: Age of Ultron , she continued to appear until Tony's death in Avengers: Endgame , leading fans to ponder when or if we'd ever see her again.
While reports suggest a number of artificial intelligence characters are appearing in the Disney Plus series Vision Quest , Condon insists that she will not be among them, adding the following response based on when she first saw the rumors herself:
'I saw it, and I was like, 'Who's saying this?!' It's not true, no, no, no… I wouldn't say no chance, but at the moment it's not in the cards for me, no.'
While fans would absolutely love to see her return, and she insists it could still be possible, it currently doesn't look that way. Of course, with the character E.D.I.T.H. apparently appearing in Vision Quest as portrayed by a new cast member, we could be seeing a recast for F.R.I.D.A.Y. as well. Ultimately, it depends on how the events of Vision Quest play out.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional MCU updates as we have them, including rumors, as well as whether or not we'll see the return of Kerry Condon's beloved Marvel character F.R.I.D.A.Y. in any new projects.

Spider-Man 4 Adds Key Fantastic Four MCU Crewman to Brand New Day
Spider-Man 4 continues to ramp up development, with a new update suggesting the film has officially found a key member of its crew. According to what looks to be a resume found by users on social media, Alistair Williams has joined the upcoming film as its Special Effects Supervisor. Williams has history with Marvel, having worked on the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, as well as working on other big projects like Kraven the Hunter, The Gorge, How to Train Your Dragon, and several Fast & Furious movies. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced new cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), with Jon Bernthal set to make his movie debut as Frank Castle/Punisher. The latter recently played the anti-hero again in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O'Connor, and Avi Arad. Spider-Man 4 will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026 ahead of Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027), following Doomsday's delay. Did PUBG owner Krafton just delay Subnautica 2 and fire execs so it wouldn't have to pay $250 million to devs?
Posted Jul 9, 2025 at 8:19 PM UTC Did PUBG owner Krafton just delay Subnautica 2 and fire execs so it wouldn't have to pay $250 million to devs? That is the unanswered question in Jason Schreier's latest for Bloomberg , which reveals the existence of a $250 million bonus if the game met sales targets this year — and that the ousted bosses of developer Unknown Worlds were planning to share it with staff. New studio head Steve Papoutsis told employees he was unaware of the bonus, and that Krafton had simply decided the game wasn't ready to ship.

What's in Our Queue? ‘Schitt's Creek' and More
I cover higher education for The New York Times. My beat has been busy lately, so I'm usually looking for entertainment that's a little less pressurized. Here are five things that have had me thinking, laughing and cooking → My wife and I are chronically behind on TV, and we are just now getting around to 'Schitt's Creek' a decade after it first aired. Despite — or maybe because of — our tardiness, the show is a hilarious escape that offers the added benefit of letting you understand some social media memes you've never quite grasped. Georgia's grilling weather will be sporadically miserable until, say, October. But this mesmerizing cookbook makes all of the heat worthwhile, especially if you're sipping an orange, pineapple and lime agua fresca. Don't sleep on the citrus and oregano pollo asado and absolutely do not forget the avocado oil flour tortillas. I like to pick up local histories when I travel, so my friends weren't surprised when I came home from London with a book about British leaders from Harold Wilson to Boris Johnson. Even though the U.K. is on its third post-Johnson premier, it's a lively volume that shows us much about how Britain got to its present. Speaking of social media, Southerners will probably bless your heart if Matt Mitchell can't make you laugh about something. Come for the barbecue jokes. Stick around into the fall for the college football trash talk. (OK, that's a year-round thing here.) One of my favorite storytelling genres is 'how things work.' Even though I have no musical ability, much less talent, I thought 'Score' was a wondrous peek into the brilliance that goes into sorting out what a movie should sound like. Plus, you get to listen to snippets of great soundtracks.
