Auburn basketball coach accuses Carville of spreading ‘hatred' with statements about Jewish donors
During an appearance on Fox News Channel, the accomplished coach and outspoken Israel advocate ripped Carville for saying earlier this week that wealthy Jewish people were not leaving the Democratic Party because of antisemitism, but rather because they just want a "f------ tax cut" from the Republicans.
"When you say that wealthy Jews don't want to pay their taxes, that just commits to the Jew hatred and the things that are out there," Pearl told anchor Bill Hemmer on "America's Newsroom," after shaking his head when the show played Carville's remarks.
Carville made the comments during the Wednesday episode of his "Politics War Room" podcast, bashing Jewish donors who decided to stop giving to Democratic politicians and instead donate to President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign after seeing the rash of antisemitism that has sprung up on college campuses and that some Democratic luminaries have supported.
The former Bill Clinton advisor didn't buy that reason for the switch, arguing wealthy Jewish donors were looking for an excuse so they could vote for Trump and benefit from his tax cuts.
"And I hear this all the time… a lot of really wealthy Jewish fundraisers — And they say, 'Look James, I'm a Democrat, but I can't be a part of the party because of what happened at Columbia.' What the f--- did the Democrats have to do with what happened at Columbia by the way?" Carville asked.
He continued, "And they tell me that, they look me right in the eye… No, you just want your f------ tax cut."
Pearl responded on Fox, stating, "The truth is that Jewish voters are abandoning the Democratic Party because they've become increasingly extreme, and they indulge terrorist sympathizers. You just look at these campuses, you just look at these college graduations."
"For James Carville to say this, that's an antisemitic trope. Now I don't know whether he's antisemitic or not," he continued.
Pearl also shot back at Carville's suggestion that Jewish Americans are looking for ways to pay fewer taxes, saying "successful Jewish people" – including himself – pay their fair share.
"So if this is the Democratic leadership, and if he's going to call out wealthy Jews like that," he added, "guess what, we're not – they're not staying in the Democratic Party."
Pearl later praised Trump for his support of the Jewish community and Israel, saying, "There has been no president in the history of our country that has done more to support the state of Israel than Donald Trump."
Fox News Digital reached out to Carville for comment.

Bill Maher Knows Trump's Losing 'Credibility' When These Supporters Smell ‘Bulls**t'
Bill Maher weighed in on President Donald Trump losing control over a particular section of his MAGA fanbase amid the Jeffrey Epstein scandal during his Friday night opening monologue on 'Real Time With Bill Maher.' 'The interesting part of this is that Trump's QAnon base, who are always about the pedophiles — oh boy, are they serious about the pedophiles — they may be turning on Trump on this one,' Maher said. 'They really wanna see what's in these files.' Trump and his administration have been embroiled in controversy and backlash from his supporters for weeks following the Department of Justice's memo stating Epstein died by suicide in prisonand did not have a so-called 'client list.' 'Trump was hyping the Epstein files for so long. This was the conspiracy that we had to get to the bottom of, and now his horrible creation has turned on him,' Maher said. 'It's like if Elon Musk got run over by a Cybertruck.' For weeks, the president has provided conflicting information about his friendship with Epstein during his attempts to distance himself from the disgraced financier and sex trafficker. On Friday, Maher suggested the president knows he's losing 'credibility' when even his QAnon supporters, 'the people who believe in chemtrails and Jewish space lasers and [that] the Democrats eat babies,' are turning on him. 'When that crowd says, 'I smell bullshit,' you're in trouble,' Maher told a laughing audience. Related... Redrawn Texas congressional map advances as Republicans look to seize control of multiple Democratic seats
A Texas House panel on Saturday advanced a new congressional map as state Republicans power ahead with a strategy backed by President Donald Trump to help the GOP maintain the US House majority in the 2026 midterms. The map, unveiled earlier this week, attempts to make five Democratic congressional seats more favorable to Republicans. Texas Republicans argue the move is necessary over concerns that the current maps are unconstitutional and racially gerrymandered. Democrats have said it would suppress the votes of people of color. The Texas House redistricting committee voted along party lines Saturday to approve the map, setting up a full House vote. National Democrats have already vowed to sue the state if the map is passed. In what one US House Democrat described to CNN as a 'redistricting arms race,' Democratic governors in states like California have warned they will attempt the same tactics to help their party win more seats. US House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and his political team are exploring similar plans in California, New York, New Jersey, Minnesota and Washington state in hopes of flipping at least a handful of Republican seats next November. Democrats need a net gain of just three seats to win the House in the midterms. The new Texas map features 30 districts that Trump would have won in 2024 if the map was in place, up from 27 under the current district lines. In total, there are five more seats that Trump won by more than 10 percentage points, according to data from the Texas Legislative Council. The proposed map eliminates the Austin-area seat of Rep. Greg Casar, who would likely be forced into a primary with another liberal Democrat, Rep. Lloyd Doggett, in the Austin area. Multiple people close to Doggett have told CNN they do not expect him to bow out quietly and instead foresee the two battling it out in a primary. One of those people close to the senior House Democrat pointed out that he has $6.2 million cash on hand. In a statement this week, Doggett did not address the question of his future and said his 'sole focus' is defeating the new GOP map. Casar, for his part, vowed in a statement to 'fight back with everything we've got,' calling for voters to 'mobilize against this illegal map.' Republicans also propose merging the Houston-area seat of Rep. Al Green with a vacant seat held by the late Rep. Sylvester Turner, who died in office earlier this year. Green's district was altered more than any other sitting member in the plan. Democrats expect Green to run in the new seat, though he may have to battle it out with some of the Democrats who were already running for the Turner seat. The map would also make two southern Texas seats — held by Democratic Reps. Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez — more Republican-leaning. But multiple Democrats view the seats as still in reach for the two centrist members who typically performed ahead of statewide or national Democrats. Trump has not yet weighed in on the proposed Texas map. CNN's Sarah Ferris and Ethan Cohen contributed to this report.
