Who Is Anshul Kamboj? CSK Star Who Once Bagged 10 Wickets In A Single Innings
Pacer Anshul Kamboj was handed his India debut for the 4th Test against England at Old Trafford in Manchester on Wednesday. Kamboj, 24, was added to the team squad ahead of the 4th Test, after both Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh were ruled out of the contest owing to injuries. Kamboj's addition raised a few eyebrows, despite his impressive outing for India A against the England Lions in two side games prior to the Test series. He took five wickets across four innings at Northampton and Canterbury while moving the ball appreciably and finding disconcerting bounce on occasions. Who is Anshul Kamboj? Anshul was born in Karnal, Haryana, India on 6 December 2000. He is a medium pacer who can bat a bit as well. He is the 318th Test cricketer to play for India. Notably, Anil Kumble was the last Indian cricketer to make his Test debut in Manchester. Coincidentally, both Kumble and Anshul have a 10-wicket haul in an innings in First Class cricket. He made his First Classh debut for Haryana in February 2022 versus Tripura in the Ranji Trophy. Last year, he became the third bowler to take all ten wickets in an innings in the Ranji Trophy, doing so for Haryana against Kerala. So far, he has played 24 FC matches, picking up 79 wickets. Anshul was also a standout performer in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, finishing among the top wicket-takers with 17 dismissals from 10 matches. His contributions helped Haryana lift their first title. Anshul made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2024, representing Mumbai Indians (MI), who bought him for Rs 20 lakh at the mega auction. However, he played just three games last season and was later revealed by the franchise. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had bought him for Rs 3.4 crore ahead of IPL 2025. He has played 11 IPL games so far, taking 10 wickets.

Major setback for India's pace stocks! LSG trio Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan to undergo surgeries; RCB captain advised rest
(L-R) Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan Mumbai: Three top pacers of the country – Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Mohsin Khan – underwent successful surgeries last month following the conclusion of IPL 2025. The trio are now out of action for the next six months, TOI has reliably learnt. Incidentally, all three fast bowlers represent Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! The injury-prone Mayank Yadav, who burst onto the scene last year, underwent back surgery conducted by Dr Rowan Schouten in Christchurch, New Zealand, last month. "He's out for six to eight months," a reliable source told this paper on Wednesday. Troubled by a back injury, Mayank played only two matches for LSG this season before breaking down again. In an injury-plagued career, the 23-year-old Delhi pacer has played just three T20Is for India, against Bangladesh last year. Both Avesh and Mohsin underwent knee surgeries conducted by renowned Mumbai-based orthopedic surgeon Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala (who has operated on Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and many others). While Avesh, who plays for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket, underwent surgery on his right knee on June 17, Mohsin underwent an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction on his knee last month. The trio will miss the first half of the 2025-26 domestic cricket season and are likely to return to action during the second leg of the Ranji Trophy next year. They will undergo rehab at the BCCI 's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Poll Which pacer do you think will make the strongest comeback after their surgery? Mayank Yadav Avesh Khan Mohsin Khan It is understood that Mohsin tore the ACL in his right knee on December 31 while playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, the left-arm quick later joined the LSG camp ahead of IPL 2025 but failed to recover from his injury and was replaced by India all-rounder Shardul Thakur. The knee injury had troubled Avesh during the 2024-25 domestic season, and he was forced to miss Madhya Pradesh's last Ranji Trophy league match. The injury also forced Avesh to miss the initial stage of IPL 2025. He finished with 13 wickets in 13 matches. Avesh's last India appearance was in December last year in an ODI in Paarl against South Africa. Overall, the 28-year-old pacer has taken 36 wickets in 33 white-ball internationals (25 T20Is & eight ODIs) for India. Rajat Patidar likely to miss Duleep Trophy Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) IPL 2025 captain Rajat Patidar is also set to miss the Duleep Trophy, as the Madhya Pradesh batter has been advised to "take rest" by the BCCI's medical team. He is recovering from hand and heel injuries, TOI has learnt. 'Rajat is training at MP's off-season camp, but he's not been batting, as he has been advised to take a break and recover from the injury in his right hand by the BCCI's medical team. He will miss the Duleep Trophy but should be fine for the Ranji Trophy,' a source revealed. Patidar was in the fray for the England tour but missed out due to the hand injury he picked up during RCB's title-winning season.
