If you're looking to save some cash on one of the big Christmas games for the Nintendo Switch 2, one retailer is offering a discount well ahead of its launch.
With Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza officially behind us, attention has now shifted to what's next for the Nintendo Switch 2.
We still don't have release dates for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond or Kirby Air Riders, which are both slated for this year. The next title from Nintendo's stable is Drag x Drive on August 14 but it's a minor, digital-only release.
Beyond the Switch 2 edition of Kirby And The Forgotten Land, Nintendo's next big game is Pokémon Legends: Z-A on October 16, 2025. It looks set to be a big Christmas title, and if you're looking to save some money before the festive season hits, one retailer has your back.
At the time of writing, you can pick up the Switch 2 edition of Pokémon Legends: Z-A on ShopTo for £50.20 if you use the code 'PLAYTIME' at the checkout. It is currently priced at £52.85 on the website, but with the code, it knocks off an additional 5% from the price.
This code is set to expire after today (July 28) so you don't have long to take advantage of it. It also comes with five free Pokémon stickers of Lucario, Charizard, and others.

For comparison's sake, Nintendo is selling physical copies of the Switch 2 version at £58.99, but this does come with a figurine. Argos and Amazon, meanwhile, are selling Switch 2 copies for £54.99, so you're still saving some cash even without the code deal.
If you really want to shave off every penny you can, there is a way to get Pokémon Legends: Z-A on Switch 2 even cheaper than £50.20, provided you're fine with owning the original Switch box. More Trending
If you purchase a copy of the Switch 1 version on ShopTo with the discount code, you can pick it up for £40.70. When the game launches, you can then buy a Switch 2 upgrade pack with all the visual improvements for £7.99, which means you'll be buying the same Switch 2 version of the game for £48.69 in total.
It's a small saving in the grand scheme but when you consider Nintendo games rarely ever drop down in price, it's a worthwhile deal if you're already planning to pick up Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a sequel to 2022's Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It takes place in the Kalos region's Lumoise City from Pokémon X and Y and features a real-time combat system for the first time.
We're expecting to hear more about Nintendo's upcoming slate for the Switch 2 at a rumoured Direct presentation this week, which looks set to lean heavy on third party titles.

Ross tells a huge lie in Emmerdale that could destroy everything

Ross Barton (Michael Parr) has reunited with Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) in Emmerdale, but he's potentially made a massive mistake already. And it's only been about five minutes! Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) decided to work his magic and help get Ross and Steph back together. Steph ended her relationship with Ross shortly after she learnt about her connection with Anthony Fox. Something like that can really put a dampener on a fledgling relationship, and for her and Ross it was too much. Steph was distraught to learn of what happened to her mother and became fixated on her looks, claiming that every glance in a mirror she saw Anthony looking back at her. After several failed attempts at plastic surgery, Steph finally broke down and despite all his support, dumped Ross to focus on herself. She told him she couldn't be the person he needed, and she was setting him free. In tonight's episode, Steph and Ross were in The Hide enjoying breakfast after spending the evening together. As they chatted, Steph wondered if Ross had been with anyone during the period they weren't a couple. In that moment, Ross lied to Steph and said he hadn't slept with anyone else. He claimed that he was a 'one woman man' but obviously it would've been far better to actually tell Steph the truth. More Trending Shortly after Steph dumped Ross, he hung out with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker). Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? They were both lonely and ended up having sex, but Ross made it clear to Manpreet afterwards that he had no intention of carrying on with their fling. This week, Manpreet will be questioned by a curious Lewis and Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) about her love life. If she tells them about Ross in that moment, Ruby certainly won't hesitate in telling Steph. Drag queens being loaded into police cars after rally sets 'terrible precedent'

A story time event for children – featuring 'sing-alongs and dancing' and led by two drag performers – was held at a library in Belfast. This – of all things – is what drew a crowd of protesters on the steps of the Holywood Arches Library on Friday, leading to the queens being escorted away in police cars. Footage circulating on social media shows the rally, with a woman behind the camera heard shouting, 'Shame on both of you, leave the kids alone, seriously.' As tensions escalated, the ticketed event was abandoned and Lady Portia Di'Monte, also known as the 'North Ireland's First Lady of Drag', and Miss Dora Belle were taken away 'to ensure that there would be no breach of the peace.' Lady Portia had read storybooks to the children, including family favourites such as Dear Zoo, while Miss Dora Belle narrated them using British Sign Language (BSL). Drag artist Crystal argued that there is a 'real, clear misunderstanding' and that cancelling such events because of 'fringe protesters' sets a 'terrible' precedent. The RuPaul's Drag Race star told Metro: 'Watching two drag queens getting escorted out by the police is very depressing. 'It sets a terrible precedent that fringe protesters with believes that do not represent the whole of society or even the majority of society are able to – if they are loud enough – get events cancelled and make people unsafe on. Simply click on this link, select 'Join Chat' and you're in! Don't forget to turn on notifications! 'It is very troubling and we need to push back against this kind of narrative.' Crystal described protests against children's event led by drag queens as 'recycled transphobia' and compared it to mid-20th century rallies against women wearing trousers. Setting out to break down some preconceptions people may have about storytelling, they explained that -like any art form – drag has a 'million varieties', with just a portion of it adult-themed. They said: 'It is a gross mischaracterization to say that drag is inherently sexual and always inappropriate for children. That is just not true. 'And most people in the UK are aware of that because they have taken their children to see panto and they have seen drag queens entertaining children in the past and they understand that it is very possible to have that art form in a family-friendly way. 'People who say that sound like the people who probably would have been arguing 100 to 150 years ago that women should not be allowed to wear trousers because it is 'dangerous and inherently sexual'. 'If we look back, it sounds completely ridiculous. It is the same rhetoric, just recycled. 'Unfortunately, this kind of language has become more tolerated in recent years.' Families take their kids to age appropriate arts event shocker! Time for some people to reflect on the damage they are continuing to cause to the LGBT+ community in Northern Ireland. Drag is part of British, and Irish, and international culture. There are no legitimate concerns. — Amanda Ferguson (@AmandaFBelfast) August 5, 2025 Crystal, who has also performed at similar events, described them as 'any storytelling event that you would have for children, just that the books have a broader theme of inclusivity, self-love, and acceptance.' They added: 'Children sit around, open up their storybooks and you read to them. You might do some interactive games, ask them questions, things like that, but it is very kid-focused and it is very safe. 'It is nothing that you would not see in any school done by an 'normal' teacher.' More Trending Yet, this was not everyone's opinion. The DUP's Gordon Lyons said the event, hosted by the EastSide Partnership, 'was not appropriate for children' and had 'compromised the perception of our public libraries as a welcoming and inclusive space for all'. He added: 'I have directed my officials to liaise with Libraries NI to ensure that policy is faithfully implemented.' The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that two people were escorted away from the library, but that at this stage, no offences were determined to have taken place.
