The 20 best 4th of July appliance sales to shop before the holiday weekend
Appliances big and small are typically the kinds of purchases we think about more intentionally due to those hefty price tags and hard-to-read warranties. If you're having trouble narrowing down what's worth buying for your space, I've got you covered with 20 of my favorite deals below.
Electrolux Ultimate600 Cordless Stick Vacuum
Get 50 minutes of uninterrupted cleaning with this portable and lightweight cordless stick vacuum. It has a variety of attachments to get debris from those hard-to-reach spaces, and it's now under $200.
De'Longhi Linea Classic Espresso Machine
Skip the long coffee lines and improve your barista skills with an at-home espresso machine. It pumps out shots at an optimal temperature and has an adjustable steam wand for making lattes, frothing milk and more.
Cuisinart 4-Slice Toaster Oven
Crisp up bread for two sandwiches at once with Cuisinart's sleek stainless steel toaster oven. The chrome and black accents will blend into your kitchen setup without looking like an eyesore, and now it's a rare $30 off.
Instant Pot Pro Crisp 11-in-1 Air Fryer and Electric Pressure Cooker
For those who have been eyeing a multi-cooker, consider snagging this Instant Pot while it's $80 off. The brand makes our favorite pressure cooker, and this model has even more functions than our favorite, like air frying, steaming and sautéing.
Rowenta SteamForce Clothes Iron
Rowenta stole the show when testing for the best steam iron for its high performance capabilities, like its continuous steam output, elongated tip to flatten out wrinkles in narrow spaces and its even steam distribution. While typically a high-end pick, this model is now $40 off.
Insignia Upright Convertible Freezer/Refrigerator
Store your weekly meal prep, frozen meat and cans of soda in this garage-ready refrigerator from Insignia. You can change the temperature to Freezer Mode in a snap with its LCD display, and it's equipped with shelves to stay organized.
Samsung Smart Side-by-Side Refrigerator
This showstopper of a fridge is sleek, slim and drenched in a stainless finish. It holds about 10% more groceries than its counterparts and has a fingerprint-resistant coating so you can spend less time buffing out smudges.
LG Front Control Dishwasher With Quadwash
I currently own a dishwasher with a third rack, and it's truly life-changing. Removing a traditional cutlery basket allows you to fit larger items in each load, and it takes up minimal space. LG's is quiet and has Dynamic Dry Technology.
LG Over the Range Microwave
A microwave is one of those small appliances that most of us don't put too much thought into but should. As someone who hates lingering cooking smells, this device stood out to me because it has an ExtendaVent 2.0 that airs out your cooktop's surface area.
GE Freestanding Electric Range
Electric ranges seem to be popular nowadays and offer a safer alternative to gas in shared spaces. GE's comes with five burners and maximizes cooking space. It also has a Power Boil Burner that gets water bubbling faster than its competitors.
Whirlpool Freezer Top Refrigerator
Save $450 on this classic white refrigerator ahead of the long weekend and even more when buying a matching dishwasher, stove and the like. This under $650 build comes with convenient glass shelving, bins to separate produce and LED Interior Lighting.
Maytag Eco Series Third Rack Dishwasher
Maytag's high-end dishwasher can be delivered as soon as July 3 if you order it today. It comes with a rapid wash cycle to tackle dishes more efficiently and can fit 35% more in each load with its handy third rack.
GE Front Load Washer
Front-load washing machines don't have to cost a fortune, and Lowe's is proving that with this rare deal on a high-tech GE. Both the black and white finishes are over $350 off and are Smart Compatible for controlling the cycle from your device.
TCL Freestanding Indoor Beverage Refrigerator
Keep this mini fridge near your indoor bar space for easy access to drinks, mixers and the like. It can hold a little under 100 cans that can be chilled anywhere from 37 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit.
Electrolux Front Load Perfect Steam Washer
I've never seen a light blue washing machine, and I'm simply obsessed with the pop of color this could add to laundry rooms. It's a stackable model if you want the matching dryer and can deep clean in under 20 minutes.
Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator
Black stainless is the dreamier and more expensive version than traditional stainless steel, but now this finish is a whopping $601 off at our favorite home improvement retailer. If you need a dishwasher or a matching microwave, you can save even more through July 9.
Samsung Smart Electric Dryer With Steam Sanitize+
Save an additional $100 when pairing this dryer with a qualifying washing machine. Samsung makes some of the priciest home appliances, and this large capacity smart dryer can steam sanitize, protect delicate clothing from heat damage and tons more.
Shark Powerdetect Upright Vacuum With DuoClean Detect
Quit worrying about battery life during your next cleaning session and snag this heavy-duty corded vacuum. I live by Shark's hair tools, cooling products and vacuums, and love the self-cleaning brush roll and handheld suction tool found on this DuoClean model.
GE Smart Built-In Self-Clean Double Wall Oven
Get two ovens for the price of one with this sweet deal on a self-cleaning model from GE. This wall oven will take your cooking and hosting capabilities to the next level with its ability to make two dishes at once.
Frigidaire Gallery Built-In Microwave
Heat food faster with the plethora of presets available on this microwave. It can handle large dishes with its oversized turntable and is over $100 off in fingerprint-proof black stainless steel. Having the opportunity to save on big-ticket items only comes every so often. At least, when it comes to this many enticing deals all going live at once. The last time we saw steep discounts on a variety of home appliances was during Memorial Day, and we anticipate the next time we'll see similar offers is during Labor Day. If you don't want to wait that long or are currently in the middle of a renovation, now is the time to buy as multiple retailers join in on the 4th of July savings.
The Underscored deals team boasts over a decade of combined experience in commerce journalism. Rikka Altland, Jacqueline Saguin and Elena Matarazzo source the deals for the day each morning to curate one-offs and retailer-specific roundups of the best sales to shop. The Senate and the Supreme Court
The Senate narrowly passed Republicans' sprawling bill to slash taxes and social safety net programs. Vice President JD Vance cast the tiebreaking vote, after three Republican senators — Susan Collins, Thom Tillis and Rand Paul — voted no. The bill extends roughly $3.8 trillion in tax cuts enacted during Trump's first term and increases funding for border security and the military. It cuts about $1.1 trillion from health care programs, mainly Medicaid, which experts estimate will cause nearly 12 million Americans to lose coverage. The bill, which could affect millions of Americans, is a major political gamble, Carl Hulse writes. The House must now decide whether to pass the Senate's version of the bill or try to reconcile it with its own. Any delays could mean that Congress misses the July 4 deadline that Trump set. The Morning's readers were interested in the bill yesterday (it was our most-clicked link). Here's more from Times reporters who were in the Capitol: In all, senators voted 49 times during a 27-hour marathon session. They wore fluffy blankets and pullover sweatshirts inside the chilly chamber. Senator Lisa Murkowski, Republican of Alaska, cast a deciding vote for the bill after winning carveouts for her state. 'Do I like this bill? No,' she told NBC News afterward. 'But I tried to take care of Alaska's interests.' Trump and Elon Musk returned to jousting on social media about the legislation. The bill's policies could inflict major financial pain on poor Americans. Republicans have insisted that the policy package will help seniors and the middle class. Here's a fact check. Covering the court The end of June is some combination of Christmas and Tax Day for Adam Liptak, who has covered the Supreme Court for The Times since 2008. That's when the justices release a dizzying array of rulings: This term's major cases, some of which were decided earlier in the year, touched on guns, porn, police tactics, religion, citizenship, L.G.B.T.Q. rights, vapes and TikTok. Celebrating the Fourth of July? Here's how to get a free Uber ride in Wisconsin
Pemberton Personal Injury Law Firm has partnered with Uber to offer Wisconsinites free rides on the Fourth of July. Independence Day is "one of the most dangerous holidays" for Wisconsin drivers, the law firm's website says. In 2023, alcohol-related crashes accounted for 38% of traffic deaths nationwide over the holiday weekend, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. To encourage sober driving and safer celebrations, the law firm is providing Wisconsin residents with one free Uber ride worth up to $25 in select cities from 4 p.m. July 4 to 9 a.m. July 5. William Pemberton, the firm's owner and founding attorney, said in a statement helping people avoid DUIs "is just as important as representing victims after a crash." "The heartbreak and devastation that drunk driving accidents cause are entirely preventable," Pemberton said. "If one ride saves a life, this effort will be worth every penny, and we're happy to do our part to prevent these tragedies.' The offer applies to riders 21 or older. To redeem the offer, use the official campaign link or scan the QR code on Pemberton's website. More: Are you traveling for the Fourth of July?
