Natalie Portman still feels like people 'treat her like a child' on set
The 43-year-old actress - who rose to fame as a child in 1999's 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace' - insisted that despite growing up in the spotlight and developing a "serious persona" to combat people's perceptions of her, she is still fighting against it.
During a conversation about Jenna Ortega, Natalie told Harper's Bazaar magazine: 'We're both physically tiny, so people will often treat you like a child forever.
'I'm 43 now, and people kind of pat me on the head. I don't look like a child, but I often feel like I'm treated like a kid.
"Child actors often cultivate a serious persona because otherwise they'll get treated like kids forever.
"When you start working as a kid, you kind of always feel like a kid in the workplace. Having some of that seriousness helps remind people, 'I'm a grown-up.' '
Natalie and Jenna have worked together in new comedy thriller 'The Gallerist', and the 'Fountain of Youth' actress noticed they have a similar process in between takes.
She explained: 'We don't sit in a chair; we just kind of squat in the corner.
"Catherine Zeta-Jones, who was also a child actress, said she did it too — that it's a way of grounding yourself.
"There'd be all these chairs, but we'd just squat and look at each other and be like, 'Wow, this is weird.' '
Meanwhile, Jenna opened up on how much it's helped her becoming friends with the likes of Natalie, Winona Ryder and Natasha Lyonne, who all understand the journey she's on.
She said: 'It's been so beneficial and so cozy. They've seen it all, and, honestly, during a much darker time in Hollywood.
"We've all got this jaded way about us that I don't think we'd have if we hadn't started so young and had so many brutal realisations and experiences...
'But they turned out all right.'

Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley engaged to model
Paul Wesley is engaged. The Vampire Diaries star, 42, has asked 25-year-old model Natalie Kuckenburg for her hand in marriage - and she said "yes". Paul proposed with a dazzling oval-shaped ring as displayed in a black-and-white photo of him holding her hand with the giant sparkler on the ring finger. Natalie simply captioned the post: 'Yes [white heart emoji]." On July 16, Paul revealed the pair were on vacation in Tuscany, Italy. He captioned a carousel from the romantic getaway on his profile: 'A beautiful time in Tuscany." The couple then travelled to the Amalfi Coast on July 17. Days earlier, Paul celebrated his significant other's birthday by sharing a series of snaps of the couple, including a black-and-white shot of them kissing near the water. He penned: "It's my favorite person's birthday @nataliekuckenburg." Paul and Natalie were first seen together in November 2022. In a 2024 interview, the Smallville actor gushed that one of the "most important things" about their relationship is their ability to make each other laugh often. He told PEOPLE: 'There's two people that are the funniest people in my life — Number one, my dog, and number two, frankly, my girlfriend. "I think the reason we get along so well is because all we do is laugh, and I think it's probably one of the most important things in a relationship.' Wesley's engagement comes just over a year after his divorce from Ines de Ramon, 32, was finalised. The actor announced in September 2022 that he had split from his spouse earlier that year, and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for ending their three-year union. Jewellery executive Ines has also moved on - with Hollywood star Brad Pitt, 61.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese bans zips from her striptease costumes
Dita Von Teese has "never considered" using a zip as part of her striptease. The 52-year-old burlesque star believes she is the "most famous stripper in the world", and as a result she doesn't want to take the easy option of ever using a costume with a zip - because Dita insists she should be doing something "more complicated than anyone else". Speaking to Harper's Bazaar magazine, she said: "I worked with a costume designer once who asked me, 'Have you ever thought of using a zip?' I said, 'No, I've never even considered it, not even once.' Instead we try and come up with maniacal ways of doing a striptease. "You can't be the most famous stripper in the world and not be doing some s**t that's more complicated than anyone else. "You want to figure out how to make it harder, how to level it up." Dita's costumes are her "biggest extravagance in life", and she even keeps a record of how easy or hard it was to get out of her incredible outfits. She said: "Costumes are my biggest extravagance in life and they have to be otherworldly. "None of the costumes in my show are things you can wear or buy on the street. "I have a little book where I keep a score: me vs the costume. "When I did Crazy Horse I wore this incredible pearl corset and it was like a Houdini trick to get out of, and that's the point. "I like to create something absurd that no one else would take on." Dita keeps in shape for her shows by doing weights, Pilates and barre classes, but she is not "obsessed" with exercise. She added: "I don't get obsessed with it. "I tell myself that my body is strong and I work out when I can. "Sometimes I choose between sleep and exercise. Doing the shows all the time keeps me at a certain physical level."

Bridgerton's Simone Ashley 'didn't leave the house' after becoming a global star
Simone Ashley used to be too "afraid" to leave her house for fear of being recognised, after Bridgerton catapulted her to global fame. The 30-year-old actress - who plays Kate Bridgerton in the Netflix megahit - suffered from "a lot of anxiety" at the time, but nowadays she "doesn't care as much". Speaking to Harper's Bazaar magazine, she said: "When Bridgerton came out, those were some of the best years of my life, but I also had a lot of anxiety. "I was coming to terms with what I wanted and what I didn't, learning lessons about what really matters to me, taming my ego, listening to my heart ... life has changed and there are certain things I can and can't do now. "There was a time when I didn't leave the house often because I was afraid of being recognised. But it's a journey and I've reached a point where I just don't care as much." Simone and her co-star Jonathan Bailey - who portrays her on-screen husband Anthony Bridgerton - have shared several intimate scenes in the show, but the Sex Education star feels "very safe and comfortable" on the Bridgerton set. She added: "It's fantasy: it's about 'What if?' and how love conquers all. "Bridgerton represents nudity with a sense of romance, and I felt very safe and comfortable in what I was choosing to show to the world." Simone recently wrapped on her Bridgerton series four scenes, and whenever she returns to the show she feels like "time hasn't moved". She said: "That show just gets bigger and bigger. Everyone has gone off to do incredible things, but we come back and it's like time hasn't moved. "Every season, someone new will join, and we're all as supportive as we can be - if they want to have a chat or if they have any questions – because we understand how thrilling it is." Simone previously quit Sex Education - in which she portrayed Olivia Hanan - because she was too busy shooting Bridgerton. When asked in 2022 about her future on Sex Education, she said: "I get asked that all the time. No, I'm a Bridgerton girl now."
