Check Your Fridge: Costco Recalled Popular Water Brand Over Bacterial Contamination Concerns
Costco shoppers beware! The warehouse chain has recently issued a recall on a popular Coca-Cola product, Topo Chico Mineral Water (one of Delish's top-ranked seltzers). The recall is due to possible contamination with Pseudomonas, a bacteria that naturally occurs in water sources and soil. While the chain noted that the health consequences of consuming the contaminated water by healthy individuals are low, those with weakened immune systems could experience "potential minor health consequences."
Luckily, the recall doesn't seem to be widespread—shoppers at Costco's Texas and Louisiana warehouses are the only ones who need to check their fridges and pantries. The affected products include Topo Chico Mineral Water in 16.9-ounce bottles (or 500mL) in an 18-pack size with lot code #13A2541. The contaminated waters were sold between May 20, 2025, and May 29, 2025.
Costco suggests that customers who purchased any of the affected products return them to their local Costco for a full refund. Anyone with questions can call Coca-Cola at 1-800-GET-COKE. Unfortunately, this isn't the only Coca-Cola product to be recalled this year. Just a couple of months ago, the soda itself was recalled for containing plastic—yikes.
Of course, hydration is an important staple in everyday life, but in this case, let's not risk it and return those bottles ASAP.

Lululemon sues Costco for selling alleged dupes of its products
Lululemon Athletica Canada Inc. is accusing Costco Wholesale Corp. of infringing on its intellectual property by selling knockoffs of some of its most popular products. A lawsuit filed in a California court recently alleges Costco sells dupes of Lululemon's Scuba hoodies and sweatshirts, Define jackets and ABC pants. Some of the alleged fakes Vancouver-based Lululemon identified are sold under Costco's private label Kirkland, but others are made by manufacturers Danskin, Jockey and Spyder. "Some customers incorrectly believe these infringing products are authentic Lululemon apparel while still other customers specifically purchase the infringing products because they are difficult to distinguish from authentic Lululemon products, particularly for downstream purchasers or observers," the lawsuit says. Lululemon alleges these scenarios take advantage of patents it holds, as well as the reputation and goodwill it has built with customers. In its 49-page court filing, Lululemon says it tried to address the dupes by sending Costco cease and desist letters but is now asking a court to step in. Lululemon has requested the matter be heard by a jury trial, which it wants to order Costco to cease manufacturing, importing, marketing and selling the alleged dupes. It also wants the Washington-based retailer to remove any instances where it was advertising alleged dupes online or in print and is asking the court to require Costco to cover any lost profits Lululemon incurred from the products. Costco did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It has yet to file a response to Lululemon's lawsuit. Dupes have become incredibly popular in recent years as shoppers looked to cope with inflation and a global trade war by seeking products mimicking the originals made by name brands. The phenomenon has gained traction online in particular, with social media accounts sharing the best dupes they've found. While knock-off cosmetics are especially popular, Lululemon has also become a target because it sells its athletic wear at higher prices, which some customers find unattainable. The lawsuit comes weeks after Lululemon said it would try to weather new and possibly incoming tariffs with price increases that will be "modest in nature" and applied only to a "small" portion of its products. The brand has been working to bounce back from a lack of newness that disappointed consumers last year and earlier this year. Newness — how fresh a brand's products and styles appear to consumers — is one of the key ways retailers draw in customers. This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 29, 2025. Costco's new hours start Monday. What to know about changes.
Costco's earlier opening hours for executive members start Monday at wholesale clubs across the country. Why it matters: The move comes nearly a year after Costco raised membership fees for the first time since 2017. It mirrors a tactic from rival Sam's Club, which has long offered exclusive hours and extra perks to its premium-tier members. The big picture: The early access perk is a way to add value to the membership club's top tier and potentially increase the ranks of executive members who make up a higher percentage of sales. Executive members make up more than 47% of Costco's paid memberships but represent 73.1% of sales globally, Costco CFO Gary Millerchip said on a May 29 earnings call. Members can upgrade to an executive membership at a prorated fee that varies based on how many months remain in their membership, Costco explains on its website. Flashback: Costco previously had early hours for executive members and during the pandemic opened early some days for seniors and members with disabilities. Costco executive member hours, new benefits Zoom in: The new executive member benefits start Monday, June 30, Costco said. Warehouses will open at 9am daily exclusively for executive members. Membership card scanners at club entrances identify which membership level a member has. Costco said in a comment on a Facebook post that warehouse departments like the pharmacy and food court will participate in the new hours except on Sundays when pharmacies are closed. Other new benefits for executive members are a $10 monthly credit on same-day or Costco via Instacart orders of $150 or more and additional value on Costco services like its auto program. New Costco hours at clubs nationwide The following are Costco's new early shopping hours: Monday to Friday: 9am to 10am Saturday: 9am to 9:30am Sunday: 9am to 10am Clubs will open at 10am weekdays and Sundays for all members and 9:30am on Saturdays. Locations that had been open at 9am for all members will also make a change. "Our U.S. locations that currently open at 9 am, will transition June 30th to limiting access to Executive Members only during the times outlined," Costco said in a comment on its Instagram post. Yes, but: Some shoppers have said on Reddit and social media they've spotted signs at clubs already opening at 9am that note "a grace period for Gold Star and Business members will be in effect through August 31." Costco didn't immediately respond to Axios' request for comment about how many clubs will have the grace period. Costco Saturday hours extended Between the lines: Costco U.S. warehouses will stay open one extra hour on Saturdays for all member. Clubs will close at 7pm on Saturdays. Costco membership cost Zoom out: Costco increased membership fees for both Gold Star and Executive tiers by $5 and $10 respectively, effective Sept. 1, 2024 Gold Star and business membership fees are $65, up from $60. Executive membership fees are double the basic membership's price but members earn a 2% reward on eligible purchases. The $130 annual fee is up from $120. Costco gas station hours 2025 Costco extended gas station hours in February, keeping them open beyond clubs. Gas stations were closing at many locations at 9pm weekdays and 7pm on weekends. Extended gas station hours are: Monday-Friday: 6am to 10pm Saturday: 6am to 8:30pm Sunday: 6am to 7:30pm Hours may vary in California and Hawaii, Costco said. Costco closed July 4th
