The Minnesota State Patrol says the victim, from Hazelton Township, was killed in the crash that happened at about 7:13 p.m. on northbound Highway 169 and Tame Fish Lake Road in Aitkin County. She was driving northbound on the highway in an SUV that was pulling a fish house when her vehicle collided at the intersection with an eastbound pick-up truck. The woman later died at a hospital in Onamia, according to the state patrol. Her 39-year-old husband, their two daughters — ages 9 and 11 — and their three sons — ages 3, 13 and 17 — all suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck and his passenger, both 18, also suffered non-life threatening injuries. Neither of the young men were wearing seat belts, but all occupants of the SUV were buckled, authorities say, and alcohol wasn't a factor in the crash. Everyone involved is from the same township, located about 120 miles northwest of Minneapolis. A GoFundMe account set up for the family has nearly reached its goal of $20,000 as of Monday afternoon. There have been nearly 60 deadly crashes across the state as of June 2, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety's traffic safety snapshot dashboard.

‘Blackout challenge' blamed for death of child in shocking ‘tragedy': ‘A boy full of dreams'

A 12-year-old UK boy named Sebastian has died after allegedly participating in the dangerous TikTok 'blackout challenge,' which hypes a form of self-strangulation by challenging users to see how long they can go holding their breath. It's sadly claimed the lives of multiple youngsters. According to a statement by the West Yorkshire Police, authorities had been tipped off by ambulance services about the dire condition of a youth at a house in Castleford on June 27, Yorkshire Live reported. The boy was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately died shortly thereafter. The coroners are currently probing the deceased's cause of death, which they don't believe to be 'suspicious' in nature. GoFundMe organizer Agnieszka Czerniejewska described Sebastian (pictured) as a 'boy full of dreams, passion, and incredible talent.' GoFundMe On a GoFundMe page launched on behalf of Sebastian's parents, organizer Agnieszka Czerniejewska said that the boy lost his life due to participation in the 'blackout challenge.' This dangerous game — one of several potentially fatal fads to circulate TikTok — can restrict oxygen to the brain, potentially resulting in seizures, serious injury or death. In 2022, the Independent reported that at least 20 deaths had been linked to this asphyxiation game in 18 months, with 15 of the victims being just 12 or younger. Czerniejewska dubbed the youngster's death a 'tragedy beyond words.' Parents need to be more aware of what their children are partaking in online. Getty Images 'His parents gave him all the love and care in the world — but that one moment online changed everything,' she wrote on the page, which has garnered over $6,000 in donations at the time of writing. She described Sebastian as a 'boy full of dreams, passion, and incredible talent.' 'He taught himself to play the guitar and keyboard, and he loved to draw,' lamented the organizer, who is using the incident as a cautionary tale against the perils of online challenges. 'Talk to your children about what they do online,' she implored. 'Ask what they watch, who they talk to, what inspires them. Be present. Don't assume: 'My child would never do that.' The online world can be as dangerous as the real one — sometimes even more so.' Czerniejewska said she wanted to ensure that Sebastian's passing wasn't 'in vain.' 'Let it be a quiet call for awareness — a reminder to stay close, to talk more, to protect the ones we love,' she declared. 'So that other children may live. So that no other parent has to experience this unimaginable pain.'

When emergency responders arrived, they found a 68-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy who had been 'struck' by a tractor. The little boy was taken to a medical center where he was pronounced dead. The woman was flown to another hospital and died of her injuries on the morning of Wednesday, June 25, the sheriff's office said. When contacted by PEOPLE, a spokesperson for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the two people were related and that the tractor involved in the accident was a combine. The Jackson County Coroner did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. The accident is under investigation. "Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all involved," Sheriff Rick Meyer of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said in a statement. In an interview with NBC affiliate WTHR, Zach Flinn, confirmed that his 4-year-old nephew, Maverick Flinn, and Maverick's great-grandmother were involved in the fatal accident. That evening, the little boy wanted to ride in the combine with his great-grandfather. As he exited the tractor, both he and his grandma were fatally injured, according to the outlet. Zach told WTHR that farming was a big part of Maverick's life. "It was in his blood," the grieving uncle told the outlet. "But just, so energetic, so loving, never met someone that he didn't want to give a hug to." According to the little boy's obituary, he was loving and made friends easily.
