IIM, MACC to forge strategic partnership to coordinate anti-corruption initiatives
MACC deputy chief commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman said in a statement that this was conveyed by IIM chief executive officer Rahman Mohd Din during a courtesy call at the MACC headquarters here today.
He said IIM played a key role in strengthening a culture of integrity and good governance in both the public and private sectors.
"MACC welcomes IIM's intention to establish a strategic partnership to coordinate anti-corruption activities between the two agencies, avoid duplication, strengthen joint strategies and facilitate information sharing in formulating various anti-corruption agendas," he said.
Azmi said the courtesy call also reflected the commitment of both MACC and IIM in developing the National Integrity Cultivation Strategy (NIES) to replace the National Integrity Plan (PIN).
Meanwhile, Rahman, in the same statement, expressed appreciation for MACC's commitment and said IIM always welcomed collaboration and was open to sharing information and views with the commission.

The case involves a detained project manager from a prominent construction firm who allegedly demanded kickbacks in exchange for tender advantages. 'The main suspect admitted to requesting around three per cent of the project value from companies seeking contracts,' the source said. Earlier reports disclosed that the project manager attempted to destroy nearly RM1 million in cash during an MACC raid under Op Ways. Officers discovered burning RM100 notes at his Petaling Jaya residence, alongside RM7.5 million in cash hidden in pillow boxes, luxury watches, and jewellery. UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi criticised Malaysian authorities for their delay in tracking and extraditing Jho Low, following reports that he is living luxuriously in Shanghai using a fake Australian passport with a Greek name. Puad said it is the responsibility of the police and of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Comission (MACC) to bring Jho Low back to face justice. He also criticised former IGP Abdul Hamid Bador for failing to fulfil his promise to bring Jho Low back by end-2019 and mocked his remarks about Jho Low's changed appearance. 'If it is true that he is in Shanghai, then it is the heavy responsibility of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the MACC to bring Jho Low back to face justice,' he said in a statement on Saturday. Abdul Hamid Bador Puad said, 'He even promised that Jho Low would be brought back before the end of December 2019. Bribe burning scandal: MACC identifies two more companies involved in data centre graft
KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has identified two more companies suspected of obtaining data centre construction projects by bribing the project manager of a prominent construction company who was recently arrested. According to a source, several company directors have also been identified and will be called to assist in the investigation into the case. "The investigation also found that the main suspect, the project manager, admitted to having asked for about three per cent of the project value from any company that wanted to obtain a project from a prominent construction company," he said here today. The source informed that the bribe was done by leaking the tender price and helping to ensure that the company that paid the bribe was given priority to win the tender. "This bribe was paid in stages according to the progress of the project payment and it is understood that there are several million more that have yet to be paid by the company to the suspect as per their agreement," he said. The media previously reported that a project manager of a prominent construction company who was detained for investigation into a corruption case involving the procurement of a data centre construction project tender was willing to burn almost RM1 million in cash to destroy evidence after being shocked by the MACC raid through Op Ways on Thursday. According to sources, during the raid conducted at his home in Petaling Jaya, a team of officers found RM100 banknotes totalling almost RM1 million in flames. As a result of a thorough inspection of the home, the MACC also found cash totalling approximately RM7.5 million stored in several pillow boxes, three Rolex, Omega and Cartier watches as well as jewellery such as rings and gold coins.
