Malayalam rapper Vedan to make Tamil debut in Vijay Milton's upcoming film
Vedan, known for his politically charged and socially conscious music, rose to prominence with his debut track Voice of the Voiceless in 2020. His work often addresses issues of caste, class, and marginalisation, and he has become a notable voice in Malayalam independent music. In 2024, his song Kuthanthram from Manjummel Boys brought him mainstream recognition, accumulating over 50 million streams.
Following his success in Malayalam cinema with contributions to films like Kondal, Checkmate, and Narivetta, Vedan's Tamil debut marks a significant milestone in his career.
The yet-untitled film, currently in its dubbing stage, stars Raj Tarun alongside Ammu Abhirami, Bharath, Sunil, and Aari Arjunan. Directed by Vijay Milton, known for Goli Soda, the project also includes Kishore DS, Paal Dabba, Vijetha, and Prasanna Balachandran in key roles.
Vedan's recent accolades include receiving the first Priyadarshini Award for his contributions to music and culture.
The title for the film is expected to be revealed later this week.

Film shoot gone wrong: Stunt artist S Mohanraj dies during shooting in Tamil Nadu; slipped while jumping off car
TRICHY: A 52-year-old stunt artist collapsed and died during a movie shooting in Nagapattinam district on Sunday. S Mohanraj, from Selliamman koil street in Kanchipuram, was hired as a stunt artist for the upcoming Tamil movie 'Vettuvam' produced by director Pa Ranjith's production house Neelam studios. The shooting has been underway at Vilunthamavadi village near Velankanni since July 10. On Sunday, Mohanraj was performing a stunt, when he reportedly slipped and fell down while jumping off a car. Soon, he developed chest pain and was rushed to Nagapattinam govt medical college hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Keelaiyur police have registered a case.
