Cairo, Egypt –February 2025: ADNOC Distribution (ISIN: AEA006101017) (Symbol: ADNOCDIST) and TotalEnergies are celebrating two years of successful partnership in Egypt at this year's Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) with a co-branded booth that showcases the partnership's role in strengthening Egypt's energy infrastructure.
In 2023, ADNOC Distribution acquired 50% of TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt (TEME), creating a joint venture that operates over 240 fuel retail sites across Egypt and includes wholesale, aviation fuel and lubricant blending operations. The acquisition facilitated the entry of ADNOC's retail fuel and Oasis convenience store brands to the Egyptian market.

ADNOC Distribution is set to open its first flagship service station in New Cairo this year, featuring an expanded ADNOC Oasis convenience store and offering a broader range of automotive services compared to the existing 11 ADNOC-branded stations operating in the country. The new station will join ADNOC Distribution's existing flagship stations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, exemplifying the Company's commitment to industry-leading customer experiences.
ADNOC's Voyager lubricants are blended locally in Egypt by TEME for both domestic sales and global exports, showcasing Egypt's growing potential as an export-focused manufacturing hub. Later this year, Voyager lubricants will also be available through independent Egyptian distributors, expanding the brand's reach beyond ADNOC Distribution service stations.

Egypt's FM seeks deeper economic, security ties on five-nation West Africa tour
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty began a five-nation tour of West Africa on Monday, leading a high-level business delegation in a push to bolster economic ties and deepen security cooperation across a region facing significant challenges. The tour, which will also include stops in Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, and Senegal, kicked off in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, where Abdel-Aty held a series of meetings with top Nigerian officials and the regional ECOWAS bloc, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement. Abdelatty is accompanied by a delegation of 30 heads and representatives of major Egyptian companies, signaling a strong focus on leveraging trade and investment to reinforce diplomatic partnerships. During bilateral talks with his Nigerian counterpart, Yusuf Tuggar, Abdel-Aty stressed the growing momentum in relations, particularly since the first-ever ministerial-level political consultation was held in Cairo in January 2025. The two ministers discussed enhancing cooperation in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy, mining, construction, and information technology. Abdel-Aty said the business forum held during the visit was an ideal platform to deepen private sector partnerships and explore joint investment opportunities. In a significant diplomatic development during the forum, Nigeria's Foreign Minister Tuggar officially announced his country's support for the Egyptian candidate for UNESCO Director-General, Khaled El-Enany, ahead of elections in October. The Egyptian candidate, who was present at the meetings, also attended the bilateral talks where Abdel-Aty thanked Nigeria for its support of the candidacy within the African Union. In a separate meeting in Abuja, Abdelatty met with Abdel-Fatau Musah, the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The Egyptian foreign minister offered to expand cooperation with the regional bloc to combat rising terrorism and extremism in the Sahel and West Africa. He said Egypt was ready to share its expertise through training and technical support for the regional counter-terrorism force. 'Egypt will not hesitate to provide all necessary support and assistance to the countries of the region in their efforts to combat terrorism and extremist thought,' Abdelatty said, highlighting the role of Egyptian institutions like the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution and Al-Azhar in promoting moderation. The discussions also covered Egypt's ongoing capacity-building support for Nigeria through the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD). The agency has so far trained 571 Nigerian personnel in 260 courses across various fields, a number Abdel-Aty said reflects Egypt's commitment to aligning its support with Nigeria's priorities. For his part, the Nigerian minister praised Egypt's active role on the African continent, particularly in reconstruction, sustainable development, and counter-terrorism. Before starting his West Africa tour, Abdelatty made a stop in N'Djamena on Monday, where he met with Chadian Foreign Minister Abdallah Saber Fadoul. Nigeria has officially endorsed Egypt's candidate, Dr Khaled El-Anany, for the post of Director-General of UNESCO ahead of the election scheduled for October 2025. Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar made the announcement during the opening session of the Egypt-Nigeria Business Forum in Abuja on Monday. The forum was attended by Egypt's Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty—currently on a West Africa tour—Dr El-Anany, and a high-level delegation of representatives from major Egyptian and Nigerian companies, business chambers, and economic organizations. In his keynote address, Tuggar expressed Nigeria's full support for El-Anany's candidacy and extended his best wishes for a successful election. He also reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Egypt, highlighting major opportunities for enhanced trade, investment, and economic cooperation. Al-Sisi reviews progress on local manufacturing, urges deeper self-sufficiency
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met on Monday with Lieutenant General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairperson of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), to review the progress of strategic civil and defence industry projects designed to strengthen domestic manufacturing and localize advanced technologies, according to a presidential statement. Presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy said the meeting highlighted AOI's initiatives across multiple sectors, including transport, clean energy, medical supplies, and wood products, as well as its ongoing efforts to expand military production for the armed forces and boost exports. Abdel Latif outlined the AOI's strategic vision, which focuses on industrial modernisation, developing skilled human capital, advancing scientific research, and forging partnerships with major local, regional, and international companies to reinforce Egypt's position as a regional manufacturing hub. The AOI chief also announced that production has begun on the Citroën C4X in cooperation with global automotive group Stellantis, with an annual target of 7,000 vehicles and a cumulative goal of 28,000 over four years. Production of the new Jeep Cherokee is scheduled to start in September 2024, alongside the Toyota Fortuner SUV at a planned annual output of 1,200 units. In addition, AOI is expanding into electronics, with new production lines for laptops, tablets, smartphones, prepaid electricity meters, and routers aimed at meeting domestic demand and reducing reliance on imports. The meeting also covered AOI's clean energy initiatives, including the manufacture of advanced solar panels and the development of a solar power station in Uganda as part of Egypt's contribution to the Nile Basin Initiative. AOI is further investing in smart digital marketing platforms to broaden its reach in both local and regional markets. On human capital development, Abdel Latif highlighted the organisation's education and training programmes through its technology and engineering academies, vocational institutes, and international collaborations, such as with the International Institute of Welding in Italy. President Al-Sisi commended AOI's achievements and called for continued efforts to expand domestic production, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness. He also stressed the importance of minimising imports in key sectors to cut the trade deficit and save foreign currency, while urging greater coordination among government ministries, the private sector, and national industrial institutions to unlock Egypt's full manufacturing potential.
