When Mahhi Vij Earned Rs 50,000 Featuring In An Ad With Sachin Tendulkar
Mahhi Vij recently grabbed headlines amid ongoing rumours of a divorce from her husband, actor Jay Bhanushali — speculation the couple has consistently denied. Amid the buzz, Mahhi took a nostalgic turn and opened up about a special moment from her early career in the entertainment industry.
Speaking on The Male Feminist podcast, the Balika Vadhu actress recalled her first-ever paycheque, which came from a commercial she shot with none other than cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. The ad was for a pen brand, and Mahhi revealed that she was paid Rs 50,000 — a sum that held immense value for her and her family at the time.
'My first paycheque came from an ad I did with Sachin Tendulkar, for a pen brand," she shared. 'I received Rs 50,000 for it. That Rs 50,000 was a big deal for us, like, a really big deal."
During the same interview, Mahhi Vij also shed light on her divorce rumours with Jay Bhanushali. The actress said, 'If there's a possible separation or not, why should I tell you? Who are you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer's fees? Will you help me get a good divorce? I just feel like, why make such a big deal out of it? People start saying things like, 'Oh, they're about to separate' or 'They're getting divorced.' Then they start writing stuff like, 'Oh, he was always like this,' or 'She was like that.' I've even seen comments saying, 'Mahi is decent, Jay is like this,' or 'Jay is good, Mahi is like that.' Who are you? What do you even know?"
'You sit there judging like you're everyone's uncle or aunt. What do you actually know about our lives? I feel like here, people make such a fuss over things, 'Oh my God, single mother, divorce, now there must be some issue, now it'll turn messy.' Everyone expects drama. I think there's too much pressure from society, what will people say, what will others think? I honestly feel, live and let live. That's it," she added.
Mahhi Vij also shared that her daughter Tara has also been targeted by online trolls, which used to hurt her a lot. People commented on how she takes care of her daughter, by saying things like she's putting makeup on her child. Mahhi said that since Tara is her own daughter, she has every right to do whatever she wants and others shouldn't interfere. In the beginning, such comments used to bother her and she used to think a lot about what people were saying. But over time, she has stopped letting these opinions affect her and now she chooses to ignore the negativity.
