The Bulldogs (28-3) advanced to a semifinal Saturday against Belmont.
Howard added six steals for Drake, which also got 15 points, five rebounds and five assists from Bennett Stirtz and 11 points from Cam Manyawu.
Ali Abdou Dibba led the Salukis (14-19) with 19 points. Drew Steffe added 11 and Kennard Davis 10.

Tyler Lundblade had 14 points and Carter Whitt added 12 points and 11 assists to lead the fourth-seeded Bruins into the semifinals. Belmont (22-10) took the lead with 17:55 remaining in the first half and did not relinquish it.
Dalton Banks led the way for the fifth-seeded Redbirds (19-14) with 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists, three steals and three blocks. Johnny Kinziger added 12 points.
No. 2 seed Bradley played No. 7 Murray State and third-seeded Northern Iowa faced No. 11 Valparaiso in Friday's final two quarterfinals.

(AP) — Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes champion Sovereignty rallied after losing position heading into the final turn to win the $500,000 Jim Dandy by a length at Saratoga on Saturday. Ridden by Junior Alvarado, Sovereignty ran nine furlongs in 1:49.52 and paid $3 to win as the 1-2 favorite against four rivals, the smallest field of his career. Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott said Sovereignty would be pointed toward the $1.25 million Travers on Aug. 23 at the upstate New York track. Approaching the turn, there were a few tense moments as it appeared Sovereignty was retreating when losing position to the advancing Baeza and deep closers Sandman and Hill Road, leaving Sovereignty in last for a few strides. Alvarado said he never had a doubt that Sovereignty would come up with his expected run. 'It was everybody else moving and at that time I was just like, 'Alright let me now kind of start picking it up,'' Alvarado said. 'I had 100% confidence. I knew what I had underneath me." Nation's No. 1 running back announces commitment date
An elite running back recruit and Georgia Bulldogs recruiting target has announced his commitment date. Five-star RB prospect Savion Hiter will be committing on Aug. 19, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals. Hiter will choose among Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee. Hiter is a five-star prospect from the class of 2026. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound freshman plays high school football and track and field for Louisa County High School in Mineral, Virginia. Hiter made the Under-Armour All-American roster, alongside elite recruits such as Georgia freshmen defensive tackle Elijah Griffin and offensive tackle Juan Gaston, as well as Georgia commits Kaiden Prothro (five-star tight end) and Zech Fort (four-star safety). On 247Sports' analysis on Hiter, Andrew Ivins compared Hiter to former North Carolina RB Omarion Hampton. Hiter has no visits scheduled anymore. He took official visits with Ohio State (May 30), Georgia (June 6), Michigan (June 13), and Tennessee (June 20). 247Sports has not released a Crystal Ball prediction for him yet. Georgia currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, with 30 total commits, including two five-stars and 21 four-stars. The Bulldogs earned a commitment from four-star running back Jae Lamar on June 21 already, but Georgia would like to earn multiple running back commits. In the 2025 cycle, the Bulldogs lost Ousmane Kromah on the first day of the early signing period when he flipped to Florida State. Hiter is the nation's No. 1 running back and No. 9 overall prospect from the class of 2026. He'd be the highest ranked commit in Georgia's class, should he choose to play for the Bulldogs. Hiter is the top ranked recruit in Virginia. If Georgia misses out on the five-star RB, then the Bulldogs may look to flip a four-star Wisconsin RB commit.

Georgia football injury, suspension report entering fall camp
Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart updated the status of several ailing Georgia players during SEC media days. Overall, Georgia is pretty healthy entering fall camp. The Bulldogs don't appear to have a season-ending injury yet, but Georgia does have a pair of players recovering from knee surgeries in punter Brett Thorson and defensive back Ondre Evans. Perhaps Georgia's most important injury is at punter. Thorson is rehabbing a knee injury he suffered in the SEC championship, but has still earned preseason All-American honors this summer. "Thorson's coming back. He's done a good job," Smart said at SEC media days. "I can't sit here and tell you if he'll be the starting punter. It depends on his health. But he's starting some punting." Georgia is expected to start fall camp in early August as the Bulldogs prepare for the Aug. 30 season opener against the Marshall Thundering Herd. Georgia will not have to release an official injury report until Week 3's SEC opener at Tennessee, so the Bulldogs and coach Smart will likely be pretty hesitant to share details on injuries as usual. Expected to be ready for fall camp Wait and see Facing possible suspension Kirby Smart is unlikely to publicly announce a suspension Jackson, but his arrest was significant and could even result in him being dismissed from the program. Former Georgia wide receiver Nitro Tuggle and offensive lineman Marques Easley were both arrested in the spring and left via the spring transfer portal, so we'll see if things unfold in a similar manner with Jackson.
