The grid has been pushed to its limits, and failure may be near.
On Monday, July 7, the Department of Energy released an astonishing report warning that blackouts could increase 100-fold by 2030 if the U.S. continues to shutter reliable power sources and fails to add additional firm capacity.
It's an unsettling piece of data, but one that begs an important question. Are you prepared? Having back-up power is no longer a luxury — it's essential. It's the reason why thousands of people are taking advantage of Prime Day deals on backup power stations like the BLUETTI Solar Generator Elite, which is currently $1,000 off during this week's Amazon sale.
Finding a generator with high voltage and capacity is key, as outages become more common. Models outlined in the DOE analyses indicate that annual outage hours could increase from single digits today to over 800 hours per year. The surge could leave millions of homes and businesses could be left in the dark. That is, unless they take matters into their own hands.
It's not just about keeping the lights on. Generators like BLUETTI can power life-saving medical devices, keep you connected to the internet, charge your phone, run your refrigerator, and more. Whether it's a grid failure, a natural disaster, or just a weekend camping, having reliable backup power is a simple matter of safety.
Why wait? Take advantage of the Prime Day generator deal before the lights go out.

Blackouts are looming, and this beast of a generator means you won't even have to bat an eye. The BLUETTI Solar Generator Elite 200 V2 powers up to nine devices at once. It packs serious power (120 volts, to be exact), keeping your essentials running in case the grid taps out. Featuring whisper-quiet operation and ultra-fast solar charging, it's built for both bug-out bags and backyard emergencies. A 17-year lifespan ensures longevity and durability. Snag it now at 60% off for Prime Day. Don't wait until it's too late.

Analyst Says Amazon.com (AMZN) Cloud Business Needs to Show ‘Acceleration' for Stock Outperformance

Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) is one of the . Mark Mahaney, head of internet research at Evercore ISI, recently said Amazon needs to show further AWS growth for stock outperformance. 'The retail business is important for Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN). It's a necessary condition. I think for the stock to really outperform though, it will be the cloud business. You need to see acceleration in that in the back half of the year. I think we're going to see that. If we're wrong on that, the stock's not going to outperform from here. The retail business also needs to show this continued expansion in margins. And you know the—I know we've sort of waxed off and on and now we're off about tariff risk, but it's still there and you know, Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) need—and Amazon's kind of the canary in the coal mine. Shoot, they may be the whole coal mine. I mean they're going to give us a read into, and we're going to be tracking pricing, for prices on products on Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) and, you know, not these four days but as we go through the back half of the year and, you know, there is risk here.' AWS revenue jumped 16.9% year over year in the last reported quarter, while its operating income rose 22.6%. AWS has now surpassed a $100 billion annual run rate, playing a central role in helping businesses modernize infrastructure, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation. Ttatty / The market often overlooks Amazon's ads business, which is generating more than $10 billion in quarterly revenue despite being built from scratch. In the first quarter, ad revenue rose 19% from a year earlier to $13.9 billion, continuing to support overall profitability. According to some Wall Street estimates, Amazon is projected to earn $6.20 per share in 2025 and $8.95 in 2027, reflecting 44.4% earnings growth over two years. Lakehouse Global Growth Fund stated the following regarding Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) in its May 2025 investor letter: ' Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) reported a solid quarterly result with net sales up 9% year-on-year (10% in constant currency terms) to $155.7 billion and operating profit up 20% to $18.4 billion. The company's core e-commerce business remained resilient in the face of potential tariffs, with management noting they hadn't seen any material change in consumer buying behaviour as at the end of April. Amazon web services (AWS) grew 17% to $29.3 billion which was a slight deceleration from the 19% delivered last quarter. Whilst this seems disappointing at first blush, management reiterated that demand is very strong they are still capacity constrained. Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to be a key growth driver with AI workloads growing in excess of 100% year-on-year on AWS. Overall, it was a positive result, and we remain confident that the company is set to deliver many years of solid revenue growth and margin expansion.' While we acknowledge the potential of AMZN as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. Amazon's AI wants to own online shopping data

Amazon already dominates online shopping, but now it's setting its sights even higher. With a new artificial intelligence-powered project called Starfish, the company aims to become the world's most complete and trusted source of product information. The goal? Make every listing on Amazon accurate, detailed and easy to understand, whether the product is sold by Amazon or a third-party seller. If the project works as planned, it could save sellers hours of work and help shoppers find what they need faster. Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Plus, you'll get instant access to my Ultimate Scam Survival Guide — free when you join my Starfish is a multi-year initiative built around generative AI. According to an internal Amazon document obtained by Business Insider, the system gathers product data from across the web, including external websites and images. It then uses large language models (LLMs) to create "complete, correct and consistent" product listings. This isn't a small update. Amazon expects Starfish to boost sales by $7.5 billion in 2025 alone by improving conversion rates and expanding product variety. Starfish builds on earlier AI tools that Amazon began testing in 2023. These tools could: Now, with Starfish, Amazon wants to scale that effort across millions of listings. The AI will also collect data from 200,000 external brand websites by crawling, scraping and mapping their content to Amazon's catalog. It's not yet clear whether Amazon's own web crawler, Amazonbot, is powering Starfish. But the company confirmed to Business Insider that Starfish is already supporting its new "Buy for Me" feature. This feature recommends products from external websites and lets shoppers buy them directly within Amazon's app. Manually creating product listings is slow and often inconsistent. That's a problem when Amazon wants to offer a massive selection with reliable information. If shoppers can't find what they're looking for, or if the listings are vague, they may head elsewhere. Starfish addresses this by automating the tedious parts of listing creation. That helps sellers spend less time writing and more time selling. For Amazon, better listings mean higher conversion rates and happier customers. Plus, this move positions Amazon to compete more directly with Google Shopping, which also aims to be a central hub for product information. Amazon is testing Starfish's effectiveness with A/B comparisons, measuring sales performance of AI-enriched listings versus standard ones. It's also rolling out bulk listing tools and preparing to expand the system globally. This isn't just about improving Amazon's website. It's about changing the way product information is gathered, created and shared at scale. If you're a shopper on Amazon, this could mean faster access to clearer, more accurate product listings, especially for obscure or hard-to-find items. As Amazon's AI fills in missing details and improves titles and descriptions, the results should help you make better decisions with less research. For sellers, this streamlines the work of creating listings. If you've struggled to write compelling descriptions or keep up with Amazon's catalog standards, the Starfish project may do much of the heavy lifting. That could save time, reduce errors and improve sales performance. However, there are some trade-offs. As Amazon scrapes more data from across the web to power its listings, brands and smaller websites may worry about how their product information is being used. And if AI-generated content becomes widespread, quality and trust in listings may vary depending on how well the system works. In short, expect a more automated Amazon shopping experience, with both conveniences and questions about how your data and the broader web are being used to power it. Amazon's Starfish project signals a major shift in how e-commerce works. By combining web scraping, AI models and deep integration into its Marketplace, Amazon hopes to automate one of the most time-consuming parts of online selling. For buyers and sellers, this could mean more convenience and better results. But it also raises important questions about transparency, data ownership and the future role of AI in shaping what we see online. Forget Prime Day — You can still save on these 21 running shoe deals on Brooks, Skechers, Asics and more at Amazon

Prime Day may be over, but you can still find plenty of great running shoe deals on Amazon hanging around. Some of our favorite pairs are seeing stellar discounts right now, but you'll have to run, not walk, to snag these deals before they're gone. I'm talking Skechers deals from $13, Brooks for under $100, and up to 30% off the best running shoes from Asics. Amazon is one of my favorite places to go for Skechers deals, and while it's hard to pick just one, I highly recommend the Skechers Go Run Elevate 2.0 on sale from $43 at Amazon. In our Skechers Go Run Elevate 2.0 review, we praised their bouncy and comfortable feel underfoot and called them a great pair for beginner runners. I'm more of an Asics girlie myself, so my top pick is the Asics Novablast 4 on sale from $99. It's bouncy and lively enough to help you pick up the pace on your tempo runs and speed sessions, while still being cushioned and comfortable on long runs and easy days. Just keep in mind that the prices vary based on your choice of size and color, so check out the different color options in your size to score the best deals. For more savings, see our Amazon promo codes coverage. Score these comfortable Skechers sneakers starting from $14. They feature a Skechers memory foam footbed and come in four stylish color options. Reviewers on Amazon say these are sturdy and fit true to size. The Skechers Tantric are on sale for a super-cheap price, although the discount doesn't apply to all sizes and colors. These are super comfortable to wear thanks to their soft perforated footbed and canvas strap. These creatively-named Skechers wedges are on sale for a steal in certain sizes and colors! These sandals are super comfortable to wear thanks to their stretchy strap and Memory Foam footbed. I love the color option with the sparkly jewels on the strap! Score a great deal on these Skechers Nampa Groton. These simple shoes look smart and have a super comfortable Skechers Memory Foam footbed. They're also slip resistant, making them a solid choice for work days. Looking to save on a comfortable and secure sandal now that the season's winding down? You can't go wrong with this Skechers slide sandal that features a lightweight upper with adjustable buckle straps, a contoured cushioned footbed and podiatrist-certified arch support. These are the best Skechers slip-ins we've tested, so they're the ones to get if you want a super easy way to put your shoes on. They're lightweight, stretchy and breathable. In our Skechers Slip Ins Dazzling Haze review, we said they're perfect for low-impact activities like walking, light resistance training and dance cardio. If you prefer the classic slip-on look, the Go-Walk 5 Skechers have a soft, breathable, knitted upper that is comfortable across the top of your foot, whether you're wearing socks or not. They are machine washable, comfortable underfoot, and by design, extremely easy to slip on and off. These Skechers loafers are both smart and comfortable. They blend in well everywhere, from the office to the beach! With air-cooled memory foam underfoot and a stretch knit upper, your feet will be supported, and there's no chance of blisters. These Skechers sandals are the perfect summer shoe. They have Skechers' iconic comfortable midsole, paired with breathable, adjustable straps for a supportive fit, wherever you're walking this summer. They are vegan, and machine washable, with one customer writing, "Most comfortable sandals that I have ever bought. Bought one pair a year ago and had to buy another one this year cause they were that good." Now is a great time to buy, as the shoes are discounted in the two most popular colors: sand and black. If you're hitting the road, these Skechers are an excellent choice. Our Skechers Go Run Elevate 2.0 review said that these are great for beginner runners thanks to their affordable price point, bouncy and propulsive soles and breathable design. We rank these shoes as the best Skechers for novice runners. These extremely light and breathable shoes are supportive, durable and come in at an affordable price point. However, we noted in our Skechers Go Run Lite review that you'll eventually want to upgrade to a shoe that is engineered for running longer distances if you do get serious about the sport. Did you know Skechers also makes running shoes? If you're obsessed with the soft cushioned comfort of Skechers, but want to run in them too, give these a try. This Tom's Guide staffer recently tested them and wrote, "I didn't know that I was missing a whole other level of comfort until I tested the Skechers Max Cushioning Elite 2.0. They are so comfortable to wear even just for walking around, but when I took them on a run for the first time I set a new PR for my 3-mile run." The Novablast 4 is on sale! Cycle through the different options to find the best deal in your size. My colleague runs marathons pretty much for a living, and it's one of her favorite pairs of Asics shoes. The Gel Venture 10 is a waterproof trail running shoe that comes in 11 different color options and is Amazon's #1 bestseller. We price-checked against Asics, and although they are running a sale, this is the lowest price available. Although a fairly modest discount, this shoe is currently at its lowest price in 30 days. It's regarded as a comfy and versatile sneaker that suits neutral runners in particular. Not fussed about the 26? I've had this running shoe for a few years, and I still trot out the 10Ks in them. They're so breathable and comfortable, and I feel like I'm basically running on teeny tiny puffy clouds. Plus, I quite like the slightly garish bold color pops. The Gel Cumulus 26 isn't the latest in the Gel Cumulus range, thanks to the Gel Cumulus 27, but this is a handsome deal to snap up if you don't care about having the latest shoe. It also saves you a lot of money, given that we only rated the 27 with 3 stars, and this one is far more worth the money. I personally love and still run in the Gel Nimbus range, and a 31% saving on the Gel Nimbus 26 is an absolute steal. Plenty of lightweight cushioning and a breathable upper make this the perfect shoe for longer miles, in my opinion. We're huge fans of the Gel Kayano 31 at TG. A generous slice of cushioning in the midsole and rearfoot PureGEL technology for a softer, bouncier ride. What's not to love? Right now, the men's Brooks Ghost 16 in this grey colorway is down to $99 in the Prime Day sale. You'll have to cycle through the different options to find the best deal for you in your size. The Brooks Ghost 16 is also on sale in the women's shoe at $99. Again, you'll have to look through the different colors to find the best deal in your size.
