Shooter game played by 10 million people closing down on smash-hit consoles in two weeks – but fans say it's GOOD news
The shooter title is now just weeks away from being killed off on certain machines – and fans say it's actually good news.

Gamers using a PS4 or Xbox One to play The First Descendant will soon be blocked from playing.
The studio behind the game say it'll stop working on those machines on June 19, 2025.
And the only way to keep playing will be to upgrade to a machine that still offers support for it.
That includes the PS5, Xbox Series X or S, or Windows PCs.
"Our team does experience difficulties maintaining the PS4 and Xbox One builds," the developers at Nexon explained.
"So to concentrate all our resources and capabilities for the new content for Season 3 and beyond, we made this decision.
"The planned termination date is June 19, and after the June 19 update, you won't be able to play The First Descendant with PS4 or Xbox One.
"But your account information will stay with us since TFD is an online game and supports cross-progression with Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S."
The First Descendant is currently less than a year old, which makes the closure all the more shocking.
It's a free massively-multiplayer online game that sees empowered 'Descendants' battling alien baddies known as the Vulgus – and has boasted more than 10 million players.

Gamers will complete quests, collect loot, and build their characters to have different power specialties.
After the closure, some players will be locked out from enjoying the title.
But many fans reacted to the news with understanding, even describing it as a good thing.
In a Reddit thread about the change, hundreds of fans upvoted the news and said it would allow the game-maker to spend more time making the title even better.

One said: "That's fair. They probably want to do bigger stuff with the game."
Another wrote: "Y'all gotta let the PS4 go and upgrade."
And one added: "It's because the PS4 hardware limitations are limiting the scope of the game design. The dev team want to do more, so they're choosing to leave PS4 players behind.
"Clearly they've weighed up the revenue they're getting from PS4 players and are happy to lose that portion. It bodes well for the future of the game to be honest."

GOING RUSTY
It comes just days after another multiplayer game began closing down on older consoles.
As of May 29, survival title Rust is no longer available to download for new players on PS4 and Xbox One.
And the game will be switched off on those older machines in October this year.
Players will need to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S versions of the title to keep playing.

Celebrity psychologist Dr Phil McGraw is launching a new media network that will provide opportunities for 'citizen journalists' to share their stories, less than two weeks after a similar venture went bankrupt. In a statement following the announcement of the new network, McGraw said: 'As always, my commitment and that of the Envoy network team is to focus on real people, facing real challenges, seeking real solutions. 'By talking about things that matter to people who care, presenting facts, encouraging people to think critically, they can make up their own minds. Our disruptive technology will engage Envoy viewers at an unprecedented level in real time.' McGraw's previous attempt at a multi-platform media company came in late 2023, following his successful two-decade run as a popular daytime talk show host. Merit Street Media featured a Dr. Phil primetime program as its flagship show. 'Merit Street Media will be a resource of information and strategies to fight for America and its families, which are under a cultural 'woke' assault as never before," McGraw said in a statement at the time. 'I love this country and I believe family is the backbone of our society. Together we are going to stand strong and fight for the very soul and sanity of America and get things that matter back on track.' However, roughly four months after its official launch in April 2024, Merit Street laid off roughly 40 employees – around one-third of its total staff. In a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in the Northern District Court of Texas, Merit Street cited a 'severely strained liquidity position' and the inability to secure additional capital as reasons for the declaration. The subsequent lawsuit against Trinity alleged that the broadcaster 'reneged on its obligations and abused its position as the controlling shareholder of Merit Street,' leaving the channel with over $100 million in debt. 'These failures by TBN were neither unintended nor inadvertent,' the lawsuit read. 'They were a conscious, intentional pattern of choices made with full awareness that the consequence of which was to sabotage and seal the fate of a new but already nationally acclaimed network.'

July 15 (Reuters) - Tesla's (TSLA.O), opens new tab top sales executive in North America, Troy Jones, has left the electric vehicle maker in the latest senior departure at the company, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The vice president of sales, service and delivery in North America - Tesla's biggest market - Jones has been with the company for 15 years. Tesla and Jones did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment. Shares of Tesla fell more than 1% following the report. The reported exit comes at a time when Tesla is grappling with flagging sales, as demand in Europe and North America crumble amid Tesla's aging vehicle line-up and increased competition from rivals offering more affordable alternatives. Tesla has seen a wave of high-level executive departures since early last year, including key figures like CEO Elon Musk's confidant, Omead Afshar, chief battery engineer Drew Baglino and global public policy head Rohan Patel. Geller's Helen Shivers was killed in the 90s film. Prinze, 49, reprises his role as Ray Bronson and Jennifer Love Hewitt, 46, returns as Julie James. Geller also admitted the long awaited Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot was also in the works, but said she wasn't allowed to talk about any details. 'We won't do it until we know we're 100-percent ready and we're confident that we are giving you something that the audience is asking for, that's also original in its own right.' The rebooted Buffy will make it to the small screen sometime in 2026. The new I Know What You Did Last Summer debuts in theaters July 18.
