Caitlyn Jenner's friend Sophia's fatal accident details as cops make statement
More details of Caitlyn Jenner's friend Sophia's fatal accident have emerged as cops have made a statement. Sophia died on Wednesday in an ATV crash at the age of 29.
The LA Sheriff's Department has reported that she died at around 11.30am. The crash occurred on Decker Canyon Road which is a public road about a mile north of Pacific Coast Highway.
The accident happened near Caitlyn's $3.5 million Malibu house. Police were called and Sophia was pronounced dead at the scene. It has been said that drones were used to help locate Sophia's body after the ATV collided with another vehicle on the road above.
The US Sun reported that the LA Sheriff's Department said: "Our search and rescue responded from the station and we were able to find the location using our drones.
"We have a drone program here at the station. So we had a drone go down there and search for the collision and then we sent our search and rescue down to try and rescue the driver of the Polaris."
They added: "Sophia was driving the 2013 Polaris when she collided with the rear bumper of party two, which was also travelling southbound, so she was going faster than the other party.
"The force of the collision caused party one's vehicle, the Polaris, to veer to the right and over the cliff side, travelling 350 feet down to the ravine below. Emergency medical personnel arrived onthe scene and determined that the driver of the Polaris was deceased. Party two and her passenger were not injured in the collision."
They explained that they were currently waiting for "bloodwork" to come through to confirm that no one involved was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
In a heartbreaking final post before the fatal accident, Sophia spoke about healing. She shared a snap of an ornament she had fixed, and wrote alongside it: "From a headless cherub, missing one leg, arm, and foot, to a healing cherub. You can officially call me surgeon, Dr. Hutchins…"
Sophia was Caitlyn's manager but the pair were also close friends. She had been open about her own transgender journey and after her transition, said: "I truly feel my spirit, my soul, my mind is exactly the same, I am just so much more comfortable physically. Before I transitioned I felt like, 'Yeah, I'm definitely just a girl, but I'm in the wrong body.' And I felt trapped in that body.
"And I needed to have the hormones to change the body, for me, the surgeries to change the body. But for me, that's what I wanted to do, and that's what made me ultimately so at peace."

Caitlyn Jenner's gesture to Sophia Hutchins family after heartbreaking death
Caitlyn Jenner's manager died after colliding with a car while on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) ride near Caitlyn's Malibu mansion Caitlyn Jenner has reportedly been supporting Sophia Hutchins' family after her manager tragically died while on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) ride near Caitlyn's Malibu mansion. The LA Sheriff's Department reported earlier this month that the 29-year-old died at around 11.30am. The crash occurred on Decker Canyon Road, which is a public road about a mile north of Pacific Coast Highway. Authorities were called, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. It was said that drones were used to help locate Sophia's body after the ATV collided with another vehicle on the road above. Almost two weeks after the tragic accident, it has been reported that Caitlyn, 75, has offered Sophie's mum Amy a place to stay as they grieve the late manager's death. A source recently told TMZ: "Both devastated, Caitlyn and Amy have been leaning on each other for support during this incredibly difficult time." The Mirror have reached out to Caitlyn's reps for comment. In previous reports from MailOnline, officers claimed Sophia was speeding at the time of the crash. "It looks like she may have been speeding and rear-ended the other car, the other party, and then that caused her to veer to the right and go off the cliff," Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo said to the publication. "It doesn't seem like she was following them. I think she just she came up on them and then hit the car." The women in the Mazda, which Sophia is said to have tried to swerve around, were uninjured. The sergeant said: "So it looked like she tried to manoeuvre to go around it, but she was going too fast and just ended up clipping the rear end of that Mazda, causing her to veer off and go off the cliff there." It came as a source close to the Keeping Up With The Kardashian star disclosed to "Caitlyn is numb with shock. She is absolutely devastated and can't believe what's happened. Sophia was a big part of her life." Sophia helped Caitlyn with her professional affairs after her split from Kris Jenner in 2017. Sophia, who featured in Caitlyn's I Am Cait docuseries, wanted to help shield Caitlyn from exploitation. In a candid New York Times piece from 2019, she explained: "I saw nobody was managing her, and there were all these people taking massive advantage. And I was saying: 'Caitlyn, if I don't step in here and start managing you, you're going to go broke'."
