Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team Defeats Belgium 3-2

Antwerp, June 8 (UNI) The Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team kicked off their tour of Europe with a fantastic win against Belgium, on Sunday.
The Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team won the game 3-2 at the Hockey Center of Excellence, Wilrijkse Plein here in Belgium.
In what was a competitive contest, it was India who opened the scoring through Geeta Yadav (11').
However, in the second quarter, hosts Belgium equalised through Marie Goenns (25'). Soon after Belgium took the lead as Louise van Hecke (34') found the back of the net.
India came back fighting, and it was Sonam (40') who levelled things up. India continued to attack, and the pressure paid off as they won a Penalty Corner soon after, which was converted by Lalthantluangi (45').
After that, the Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team did not let Belgium get another equaliser, and walked away with the win.
The Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team will play Belgium next on 10th June in the second game of their European tour.

Caleta-Car becomes Real Sociedad's first signing of summer

Madrid, Aug 2 (UNI) Real Sociedad has made its first signing ahead of the new La Liga season with the arrival of Croatian defender Duje Caleta-Car. The 28-year-old arrives in San Sebastian on a season's loan from Olympique Lyon, with Real Sociedad having the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Caleta-Car will help cover for the loss of Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd, who returned to West Ham after his loan deal expired at the end of last season. Apart from returning loanees, such as Umar Sadiq and Jon Karrikaburu, Caleta-Car is the first player to arrive at Real Sociedad after a summer which also saw coach Imanol Alguacil leave the club after six and a half seasons in charge, while Spain international midfielder Martin Zubimendi joined Arsenal in a big-money transfer. Former B-team coach Sergio Francisco was named as Imanol's successor before the end of last season, while the club is still looking to sign a midfielder and a forward before starting the new La Liga season away to Valencia on August 16. Dhoni confirms playing 2026 IPL, says Ruturaj will be back at helm

Chennai, Aug 2 (UNI) Having taken over the reins of five time IPL winner Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from injured Ruturaj Gaikwad this year, taismanic leader M S Dhoni confirmed his participation for next year's edition and that Ruturaj will be back as skipper and lead the team. Speaking after attending a private event, he said he recalled his long standing association with Chennai, the love, affection and support he received from the Chennai fans. His love for Chennai stood pronounced when he said it was this city which gave him the first test in 2005 and the first match in IPL in 2008. Dhoni admitted to the team's issues and the balance in this year's edition but vowed that the CSK's batting would be strengthened next year. 'We are slightly worried about our batting order. But I think our batting order is quite sorted out now. Rutu (Gaikwad) will be coming back. He got injured. But he will be coming back. So, we are quite sorted now,' said Dhoni. UNI GV 2330
