Darren Wang charged over plans for military evasion
The Taiwanese actor joined 27 others who have also been charged, with the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office stating that he was charged for forgery of public documents.
It is noted that Darren paid a man named Chen Chih-ming to falsify his records so that he can evade military service. However, he eventually reported for duty in March this year, after the plan was not carried out due to Chen's arrest.
Nonetheless, despite knowing that his ID card and health insurance card were not lost but was given to an impostor, he still lied in February and applied to the Household Registration Office and the National Health Insurance Administration to reissue his ID card and health insurance card.
On the other hand, the rest of the men were charged with violating the Punishment Act for Violation to Military Service System after they falsified their health status to avoid service.
Prosecutors are also recommending a sentence of at least five years in prison for Chen for masterminding the draft evasions and earning NTD 7.63 million from it.

Ghost of Yotei takes place hundreds of years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, and as a result, technology has advanced. During the recent Ghost of Yotei dedicated State of Play, footage revealed Atsu can start blasting, as she has access to firearms in the game. However, the developers have assured us that Yotei isn't about to become a shooting game, and good old fashioned sword swinging is still its name. GamesRadar+ features editor Andrew Brown spoke to Ghost of Yotei's creative directors Nate Fox and Jason Connell and asked specifically about the place of guns in the game. Fox dubbed firearms "not incredibly efficient" in line with how they were back in 1603. He elaborated, "Firearms have a role, and they are incredibly deadly when used at the right time," adding, "but it's not like Gun Kata, where the firearm is the melee weapon. Blades are the heart of the fantasy." However, Atsu isn't completely out of luck when it comes to fighting at range, as she has access to new melee weapons that help with that – namely a spear and a flail that can dispatch enemies in no time. And of course, she'll still have access to bows, which are probably the ideal ranged weapon anyway if you're going to take a stealthy approach – and you won't have to deal with Jin's annoying uncle berating you for it either! Although, in my eyes, nothing beats strolling into a camp and announcing to the whole population that you're here for a scrap. Ghost of Yotei "isn't going to rush you through anything" and "focuses on player freedom more than any game Sucker Punch has ever made," with clues and activities for all play styles.

Ghost of Yotei co-director Nate Fox has confirmed that you'll be able to play the game in its entirety without switching to a second weapon if you'd like. Ghost of Yotei is taking place hundreds of years after Ghost of Tsushima, and due to this, Atsu has way more gear in her arsenal than Jin ever did. Not only does she have access to guns (which the developers have assured are not going to be overpowered), but she can also equip way more bladed weapons than the original game's own protagonist could. These include dual-wielded swords, a spear, and a flail – but if you want to continue Jin's legacy of just using a sword, the game won't punish you. Speaking to IGN, Ghost of Yotei co-director Nate Fox says, "the game definitely would like players best to learn to switch weapons when it is appropriate, cause it's the most efficient way to play." However, he concedes, "let's face it, people sometimes want to play in the way that makes them feel the coolest. And the game will not hurt you if you do that." Fox assures fans "if you want to play with just two swords in each hand because it looks cool, you can play through the whole game that way" – although he presumably means a sword in each hand, as I'm not sure Atsu is able to hold four swords at once (but she should be, because that'd be sick). This approach seems to be par for the course for the upcoming sequel, as the developers have said that Ghost of Yotei "focuses on player freedom more than any game Sucker Punch has ever made." China's famous Shaolin Temple leader is under investigation on suspicion of embezzling funds
BEIJING (AP) — China's famous Shaolin Temple announced on Sunday that its abbot is under investigation on suspicion of misappropriation and embezzlement of project funds and temple assets. Shi Yongxin was alleged to have committed criminal offenses and seriously violated the Buddhist precepts by maintaining relationships with multiple women over a long period and fathering at least one child, according to a notice from the temple's authority on its WeChat account. The notice said multiple departments were conducting a joint investigation against Shi Yongxin, and relevant findings would be announced to the public in due course. The fame of the Shaolin Temple, based in the central Chinese province of Henan, has gone beyond a religious institution. It is also famous for its martial arts culture, or kung fu, which has been referenced in many movies and TV dramas, including the 1982 film 'The Shaolin Temple,' starring martial arts superstar Jet Li. The news about Shi Yongxin, whose original name Liu Yingcheng, ranked top on Chinese search engine Baidu and X-like social media platform Weibo on Sunday night. Local media reported that the abbot had been hit by scandalous accusations in the past, including claims that he fathered several children and embezzled money. According to news outlet Caixin Global, provincial investigation reports exonerated him of all charges in 2016. Shi Yongxin entered Shaolin Temple in 1981 and became its abbot in 1999, according to the temple's website. Xinhua in 2015 reported that he was known as a 'CEO monk,' as one of the first Chinese monks to obtain an MBA, and he had sparked controversy for developing commercial operations like lucrative kung fu shows and merchandise. Earlier on Sunday, Chinese local media outlets reported that authorities had dismissed an online notice claiming Shi Yongxin was intercepted by authorities while trying to flee with his mistresses and children as fake.
