It seems that opposites don't just attract but might just be the secret ingredient of stable marriages . In a candid chat with Mashable India, actress Kajol divulged the secret of her more than two-decade-long marriage wit 'Shaitaan' actor Ajay Devgn, saying that rather than hurdles, it's their differences that have helped them navigate marriage and be happy with each other.Instead of creating friction, their contrasting personalities have built a stable foundation, allowing them to understand and balance each other, she explained.Kajol reflected on how deeply different they are as individuals. According to her, if they were more similar, their journey together might not have lasted this long. Their ability to accept each other's opposing traits has prevented conflict from escalating and helped them evolve together. Ajay, who is famously reserved and introverted, has been a calming counterpart to Kajol's animated and vibrant personality. The couple has been married for 26 years, a milestone rarely seen in the entertainment world.'Ajay and I are completely different otherwise hum logo ko itne saal nahi lagte (it wouldn't have taken us so long), we would have separated long before," she told Mashable.Explaining how they make their dynamic work, Kajol humorously shared that the true key to a long-lasting marriage is mastering the art of tuning out. She believes it's crucial to overlook certain things about your partner—whether it's forgetting minor mistakes or choosing not to dwell on something said in the heat of the moment. Selective memory and a touch of emotional deafness, as she described it, become practical tools in keeping the relationship peaceful and happy. Letting go of the little things allows for a more harmonious bond, even when life gets chaotic.'I say this quite often: the secret to a happy marriage is partial deafness and selective amnesia. You really need to forget certain things about your partner and sometimes unhear things they said. It is very important," she said.Interestingly, Kajol emphasized that their marriage doesn't rely on conventional romantic gestures like regular date nights. In fact, they hardly ever carve out time for elaborate couple outings. With both of them having hectic careers that demand frequent travel and long shooting schedules, they prefer to spend whatever free time they get at home, surrounded by their family. Quality time, for them, comes in the form of shared moments with their children and loved ones rather than elaborate couple activities. This grounded approach to love and companionship has played a big role in keeping their bond solid. The two got married in 1999 and are parents to two children—Nysa, their daughter, and Yug, their son. Despite their busy lives, they have remained committed to their roles as parents and partners.

Box Office: Maa hits Rs 26.25 crore in 7 days, Kajol starrer IMPACTED by Jurassic World and Metro In Dino in Week 2
Maa, starring Kajol in the lead role, along with Ronit Roy, Kerin Sharma, Indranil Sengupta, and others, is performing decently at the box office. The movie, directed by Vishal Furia, wrapped its opening week on a reasonable note. However, it will have to show better trends on the second weekend. Maa collects Rs 26.25 crore in the opening week, needs better hold in the second weekend Released on June 27, alongside Brad Pitt's F1 (Formula One) and holdover release Sitaare Zameen Par, the supernatural drama took an encouraging start. After taking an opening of Rs 4.75 crore, it smashed Rs 6 crore on its second day and Rs 6.75 crore on its first Sunday, wrapping the first weekend at Rs 17.50 crore net in India. It further witnessed a significant drop and could add Rs 2.50 crore on its first Monday, followed by Rs 3 crore on Tuesday, that too, because of subsidized ticket prices. It saw another drop on Wednesday and Thursday, when the ticket fares went back to normalcy and added Rs 1.75 crore and Rs 1.50 crore to the tally, respectively. Maa ended its first week at an average figure of Rs 26.25 crore net at the box office. Though it is a reasonable figure for a Kajol starer, a better outcome was expected because of its genre and connection to the Shaitaan universe. Maa to face Dino and Jurassic World Rebirth in week 2 The Kajol starrer should aim for a better hold in its second weekend. However, it will have to face new releases, Dino and Jurassic World Rebirth this weekend, which are expected to severely dent its business. Bankrolled by Devgn Films, the supernatural drama is expected to close its entire theatrical run with a net collection of around Rs 37 crore at the Indian box office. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Maa Are As Under Disclaimer: The box office figures are compiled from various sources and our research. The figures can be approximate, and Pinkvilla does not make any claims about the authenticity of the data. 'Sarzameen' trailer shows a perplexing tale of family, love & patriotism
Mumbai: The makers of Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Ibrahim Ali Khan's much-awaited drama "Sarzameen" have dropped the gripping trailer from the film. Going by the preview, the project will feature Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vijay Menon - a man torn between his love as a father and his duty as a soldier. On the other hand, we see Kajol as Meher - a mother who is ready to go to any lengths to keep her family together. Ibrahim Ali Khan will essay the role of Harman - a vulnerable young man caught at crossroads. Talking about the film, Kajol said, 'Sarzameen called for an emotional depth that really intrigued me as an actor. The role resonated with me on a very personal level. I was happy to see Ibrahim bring to life such a complex character and I am very excited for him. My character in Sarzmeen has so many layers - she is the emotional core of the story and Kayoze's vision has portrayed it on screen in a compelling way. I am looking forward to the release of the film.' Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed, 'From the moment I read the script of Sarzameen, I knew this was a character I needed to play. It's layered, intense, and speaks to the emotional cost of choices we make in the name of duty and love. Playing this character pushed me in ways I hadn't expected—it challenged my convictions and made me reflect on the weight of silence, loyalty, and truth. I'm proud to be part of something so raw, real, and resonant. I also had the incredible opportunity of working with Kajol, who's such a powerful actor, and Ibrahim is a gem in the making. I truly hope Sarzameen strikes a chord with the hearts of the audiences.' Kayoze Irani, who will be making his directorial debut with the drama added, 'Sarzameen is my first feature film as a director and I am incredibly proud of it. This story came to me like a whisper and quickly became a roar I couldn't ignore. It's emotional, it's intense, and it asks big questions but at its heart, it's about love, identity, and finding your place in a messy world. It is resonant of the world today and it captures the complexity of it. Directing Kajol Ma'am, Prithviraj Sir and Ibrahim was a surreal experience, they brought so much vulnerability to their characters and that made all the difference.' "Sarzameen" is scheduled to premiere on JioHotstar on July, 25th.
