Mikayla Nogueira Clarifies If 60-Lb. Weight Loss Was Done "Naturally"
Originally appeared on E! Online Mikayla Nogueira is setting the record straight. After she unveiled her 60-pound weight loss transformation, the TikToker clarified the method she used to accomplish the goal, insisting that she went about it "naturally" amid speculation she used weight loss drugs. "Heavy emphasis on the 'naturally,'" Mikayla said in a July 29 TikTok video, explaining that she focused on incorporating "a calorie deficit" diet into her routine and "making better food choices." And to help others incorporate similar techniques into their lifestyles, the 27-year-old provided a detailed look at how to cook up one of her go-to meals that's helped on her weight loss journey. "If you haven't figure it out already, these are burger bowls," Mikayla said atop a clip of her plating meat, cheese and vegetable ingredients for her favorite recipe. "Lettuce, tomato, croutons, pickles, hamburger, ketchup, mustard—they're extremely delicious and filling." And the content creator noted that she's not the only one in her family who's a big fan of the healthy dish, adding that her husband Cody Hawken "loves them too." More from E! "The reason is this s--t doesn't fit me," she told her followers in a Jan. 28 TikTok while demonstrating how big the bands were for her finger. "Because I lost 60 pounds, this ring is now humungous on me, and I either need to get it resized or a new ring perhaps, because it's too big." Luckily, Mikayla has other ways to symbolize her commitment to Cody, who she tied the knot with in 2023. "I have a 'C' tattooed on my finger," she shared, though she admitted that the design was "not good." "I need to get that fixed and I will," she continued. Best Pistachio Butters: Walmart Vs. Premium Spread
Pistachio butter is having its moment in the culinary spotlight. It's rich, nutty, and has been popping up everywhere lately, from gourmet grocery stores to TikTok. I'm a devout pistachio fan, but some of the jars I've seen online go for $15 or more, which feels a little wild for something I'm spreading on my morning toast. So, I was curious when I spotted Bettergoods Pistachio Butter at Walmart for around $6. It's part of their new private label line aimed at trendier, premium-style ingredients but with budget-friendly prices. To see how it stacks up, I tried it side by side with a jar of Il Colle Del Gusto Pistachio Spread, which goes for close to $17. I tasted both straight from the spoon and on a mini croissant from Trader Joe's. While they're both pistachio-forward, they turned out to be totally different in style, which surprised me more than I expected. Here's a quick ingredient breakdown for each pistachio butter:Walmart — pistachio, sugar, vegetable oils and fats (sunflower oil, coconut fat, cocoa fat), nonfat dry milk, whey, sunflower lecithin, extra virgin olive oil, natural and artificial flavoringIl Colle Del Gusto — Sicilian pistachios, sugar, extra virgin olive oil, rice flour, sunflower lecithin as emulsifier First up: Walmart Bettergoods Pistachio Butter Price: Around $5 (check your local store)Size: 6.7 ounces The texture instantly stood out. It's fluffy and semi-whipped, almost like pistachio frosting. It spreads beautifully, holds its shape, and could easily go in a piping bag. (Think: soft holiday sugar cookies à la Lofthouse style.) It would also be delightful to spread on top of brownies, too. Flavor-wise, it's on the sweeter side (there are 16 grams of sugar per 34-gram serving), and there's a faint aftertaste that feels a little artificial. The ingredients list confirms it includes artificial flavoring, which makes it seem less 'pure' than the others. It's still tasty, it just doesn't necessarily scream 'pure pistachio.' But if you're into dessert-y spreads and don't mind the artificial add-ins, this one delivers as a playful, budget-friendly option. Here are my final thoughts: Want to cook recipes in step-by-step mode right from your phone? Download the free Tasty app right now. Next up: Il Colle Del Gusto Pistachio Spread Price: Around $17Size: 8.1 ounces Il Colle Del Gusto is on the other end of the texture spectrum. It has a visible layer of extra-virgin olive oil on top when you first open the jar, so a good stir is required. Once mixed, though, it becomes smooth and drizzly, much more like a traditional nut butter. The flavor is richer and more pistachio-forward, a bit less sweet (this one has 38 grams of sugar per 100-gram serving, so less than Walmart's) and more roasty and earthy. It felt closer to what I'd expect if I ground up pistachios myself. It's not a candidate for piping, and it might run off your toast if you're not careful, but I could see it working really well in smoothies or drizzled over gelato. One review said they used it as a cheesecake glaze, and another said they blend it into their espresso, both of which sound sublime. Here are my final thoughts: So, which pistachio butter is the winner? Honestly, it depends on what you're using it for. Want something spreadable for holiday baking or dessert-style snacking? Walmart's Bettergoods version is the way to go. The whipped texture is playful, though I could do without the overly sweet flavor and subtle artificial aftertaste. If you're after a pure, more pistachio-forward bite, I'd lean toward the Il Colle Del Gusto Pistachio Spread jar, even if it takes some extra stirring to get there. That said, both versions contain a bit more added sugar than I'd prefer, and as a big pistachio fan, I'm still holding out for a jar that lets the natural flavor of the nut really shine. If you're not quite as nutty for pistachios as I am, you'll probably enjoy either one (and might even prefer the sweeter, more budget-friendly option). At this point, the next logical step feels like making my own homemade batch for a comparison. Have you tried making your own? If you have any tips, send 'em my way before I dive in! Our favorite glosses, lipsticks, and plumpers are up to 50% off for Sephora's Lip Day celebration
Whether you apply a full face of makeup or just use a little bit of lip color before leaving the house, now is a good time to stock up on some of our favorite products. Sephora's big Lip Day Celebration sale ends tonight and features up to 50% off some of our favorite plumpers, glosses, and balms, including brands like Clinique, Tarte, and Too Faced. I've rounded up the best deals below, featuring some of our beauty editor favorites that I'm eyeing for no shortage of popular picks to score from the Sephora event. From the 30% off the viral Clinique Black Honey lipstick to 40% off the Too Faced Lip Injection Lip Plumper (the top pick in our lip plumper guide), shoppers can find the perfect product for their pout on scrolling to see some of our top picks that are on sale right now. Lip colors, plumping glosses, sleeping masks, and more are down to prices matching those of Prime Day earlier this month. It all ends tonight, so be sure to act fast if you need a restock. Clinique's best-selling Black Honey Almost Lipstick has been a staple for years, and for good reason. The shade goes perfectly with any skin tone, and the sheer, balm-like formula melts into your skin to nourish the lips and elevate any makeup look with a subtle pop of color. Sephora Cream Lipstain Liquid Lipstick is long-lasting and more pigmented than your average lip stain. And it comes in 90 different colors. Get juicy, hydrating-looking lips with this ultra-shiny lip balm from our favorite minimal makeup brand, Glossier. We love the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm for how moist it feels and its glossy finish. This limited-edition mini set comes with four different flavors for you to find your favorite. The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is like a lip balm version of the brand's cult-favorite Water Sleeping Mask. It deeply nourishes the lips and smells delicious. For one product to do it all, Tatcha's The Kissu Tinted Lip Sunscreen has you covered. This one tube hydrates and protects your lips from the sun while giving you a hint of color. The Tarte Maracuja Lip Plump offers a creamy, smooth-gliding formula similar to a balm or lipstick. It also burns less than other plumpers, with more of a cool, minty-fresh feeling. The Tarte Maracuja Lip Plump offers a creamy, smooth-gliding formula for a glossy, hydrated finish. It also burns less than other plumpers, with more of a cool, minty-fresh feeling. Though it's one of the priciest lip plumpers we recommend, this cult favorite gets the job done. If you're looking for major volume, this is the product for the job. If you prefer a smooth balm rather than a sticky gloss, this trending lip plumper from Makeup by Mario hydrates while providing a visible oomph to your pout. It comes in a variety of shades for you to choose your favorite. We fell in love with Milk Makeup's slick yet non-sticky formula. It offers subtle color that plumps without being painful. Sales outside of Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day can be pretty hit or miss, but as a deals editor with years of experience covering sales, I am happy to assure you that these lip product deals are actually pretty solid. It's not often that so much variety is so deeply discounted, making today's promotion a rare chance to have your pick of the Sephora Lip Day Celebration sale does not require any membership to shop. Being a Sephora Insider, VIB, or Rouge member definitely wouldn't hurt, especially because the free-to-join tier comes with free standard shipping, but it's not sales from the retailer do require enrollment to score discounts, so today's event is an especially sweet opportunity for everyone to is the last day to shop the Sephora Lip Day Celebration sale. If you're hoping to snag one of the deals above, I'd recommend acting fast before it ends (or stock runs out).
