Travel advisory: Ramp closed from interstate 481 N to the NYS thruway

SYRACSUE. N.Y. (WSYR-TV)– In case you missed it — the Interstate 481 on-ramp to Exit 6 (New York State Thruway) in the Town of DeWitt, Onondaga County, that has been closed since Tuesday, May 27, at 9 a.m., will be closed until through Friday, June 13 at 3 p.m.
This is to facilitate paving as part of the I-81 Viaduct Project.
Drivers will see signs to follow the detour that directs traffic to I-481 northbound, to Exit 7 (Bridgeport), to west on State Route 298, to I-481 southbound, to Exit 6 (Thruway).

You are urged to drive the speed limit and drive carefully in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. If you receive two or more speeding violations in a work zone, it could result in the suspension of your license.
This construction project is subject to change based on weather.

Nassau and Suffolk County will feel similar as well, according to NWS. Northern New Jersey feels like temperatures may reach over 100 degrees on Monday and Tuesday, the NWS alerts said. To beat the heat, use air conditioning when possible, avoid being outside for too long, or stay away from strenuous work. Some FirstEnergy customers won't get power until tonight

(WJW) – Power is slowly being restored for some FirstEnergy customers Friday as others are losing it. Several hundred FirstEnergy customers remain without power Friday after overnight outages. Lorain police officer who died following ambush remembered Early Friday morning, more than 6,000 people were without power. According to the FirstEnergy website, the bulk of the outages are in Cuyahoga and Summit counties. Restoration times were pushed back to 11 p.m. for most communities still without power. Summit County saw new outages in several communities late Friday afternoon. Later in the day, a few hundred Green residents were still without power, with restoration expected by 5 p.m. and outages in Akron had been resolved. Celebrity and former glamour model Katie Price is visiting the Isle of Wight with son Harvey for some 'family time'. Posting to her three million Facebook followers, the 47-year-old uploaded pictures of the pair of them at the Red Funnel ferry terminal in Southampton, and arriving in Cowes. The caption said: "And we are off", followed by boat emojis and hashtags saying 'family time', 'I love it' and 'exciting times'. Katie's cocker spaniel Rookie has also come along for the journey. In April, she was spotted in the background of a picture posted by an Isle of Wight school, inadvertently photobombing while pupils enjoyed themselves on the beach. Last year she was seen at the Isle of Wight Festival.
