Galaxy A56 update brings AI – and a bootloop bug. Oops.
A recent update to the Galaxy A56 brought some minor improvements to the software and the ability to launch Google's much-beloved AI chatbot Gemini with a long press of the power button. But, according to some unlucky users, the update didn't just bring improvements, but a rather annoying (and serious-sounding) bug. Posts on the Samsung Community forum indicate that some Galaxy A56 users are suffering from bootloop issues following the latest update by Samsung. Apparently, they report the phone gets stuck in startup and never loads the OS. Samsung is yet to acknowledge the problem; in the meantime, there's a workaround discovered by some users that seems to work for affected phones. The workaround is simple: power off the phone, remove the SIM card, and then start it up again. Once the OS boots, you can insert the SIM card back in. This seems to not be a very widespread issue, but nevertheless, it's quite a big bug given the fact that it makes the phone unusable if you're unaware of the existing workaround. Probably Samsung will react soon to the issue and release a fix to address it. Despite that, it seems not all Galaxy A56 phones running the latest software are experiencing the problem.
Meanwhile, the mid-ranger siblings, the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36 , which have also received the same update, have not seen this issue happen.

The Galaxy A56 was announced on March 1, 2025, alongside the Galaxy A36 and A26. The phones sport AI (the fad that's currently everywhere) under the banner "Awesome Intelligence", which brings some previously reserved to only flagship devices features to these mid-range phones.
The Galaxy A56 starts at $499.99 and is a direct competitor to another recently released mid-ranger, the Google Pixel 9a. From the Apple front, we have the iPhone 16e which competes with those two, even though it's a tad more expensive, which is justified by its more powerful flagship chipset.
The competitors are not without software struggles either. At launch, the Pixel 9a had a minor (but annoying) twitchy camera bug, while the iPhone 16e has been experiencing some bugs with Bluetooth audio connectivity.

Rugged smartphone maker Oukitel will introduce the Oukitel WP210 soon. The brand hasn't revealed its launch date yet, but we've received its images and specifications exclusively from a reliable source, telling us what to expect from the WP210 rugged smartphone. The Oukitel WP210 has the Dimensity 8200 SoC at the helm with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. The smartphone will run Android 15 out of the box, but we don't know how many years of software support it will receive. The Oukitel WP210 is built around a 6.7" 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED display having 550 nits typical brightness and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication. The WP210 will feature four cameras. There will be a 32MP selfie camera (Sony IMX615-AAJH5-C) on the front and a triple camera setup on the rear, which will be a combination of a 108MP primary camera (Samsung S5KHM6SX), a 2MP macro camera (GalaxyCore GC02M1), and a depth unit (GalaxyCore GC032A). The Oukitel WP210 will pack an 8,800 mAh battery with 45W charging support. It will also have 10W reverse wired charging, allowing it to be used as a power bank to charge other devices. Other highlights of the Oukitel WP210 include NFC, IP68 and IP69K ratings, and MIL-STD-810H certification. The smartphone will be 13.7mm thick and weigh 311 g. We are told it will be advertised as "a rugged phone built for fast performance from urban missions to outdoor leisure without the bulk." The Oukitel WP210's target audience includes outdoor workers who value durability, outdoor enthusiasts (hikers, travelers, cyclists) who prefer camera performance and long-lasting battery, and businessmen who want smooth performance and long battery endurance. The Oukitel WP210 will come in red, black, and gray colors. Its launch price will be less than $400 (€345/INR34,880), and it will be available through Oukitel's website starting mid-August and on Amazon by the end of August.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE will also feature a smaller battery, real image leaked

For example, it's thinner than the S24 FE ( 7.4 mm instead of 8 mm ), and it's lighter too ( 190 grams instead of 213 grams ). This is further proof of Apple and Samsung diverging in how they approach their smartphones moving forward. The battery on the Galaxy S25 FE will be 4500 mAh, while the S24 FE had a battery capacity of 4,700 mAh. While a reduction of 200 mAh isn't too bad, it's still a bit disappointing to see. Especially considering that previous reports were saying that the phone will have a 4,900 mAh battery instead. The thing is, this insider is generally very reputable, and there's another tipster backing up the claim of a smaller battery. However, a recent post which listed all of the Galaxy S25 FE specs claimed to have made a typo, and written down '4,500' instead of '4,900'. I would not be surprised if the typo caught on and people began to spread it around as fact. After the new Galaxy S25 Edge, it's very plausible that Samsung might sacrifice battery life for slimmer phones, but it's equally possible that the exact opposite happens. The S25 Edge will directly take on the upcoming new model by Apple, the iPhone 17 Air. I don't think that Samsung needs to sacrifice battery life on other models, and so I wouldn't pout about the S25 FE just yet. For all we know, this leak may be completely wrong, no matter how reliable the source is.

OnePlus Pad 3 review
OnePlus built its name by offering flagship performance that undercut its key competitors and the OnePlus Pad 3 is no exception. As a sequel to last year's OnePlus Pad 2, it goes all out on the hardware front with an even larger display, the latest flagship Qualcomm chipset and a higher capacity battery. That's all achieved in a thinner aluminum body, which now measures just 6mm, and OnePlus also added an updated eight-speaker setup. OnePlus Pad 3 is built around 13.2-inch LTPS LCD with 2,400 x 3,392px resolution and a fast 144Hz refresh rate. You also get support for the optional OnePlus Stylo 2 pen. Pad 3 is part of a rare breed of flagship Android tablets sporting the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. There aren't that many slates out there that can claim they offer the very best chipset, and it should be fully unleashed in this large form factor. The cameras remain unchanged from the previous generation with an 8MP front-facing camera and a 13MP main shooter with 4K video recording on the back. We're glad that OnePlus went with a less obtrusive look this time around and opted for a more discreet bump in the corner as opposed to the previous OnePlus Pads and their larger circular cutouts.
