Inventario 2025 fair curates tools of everyday life as art
The bustling halls of Coex in Seoul are alive with the sounds of the soft scratch of pens on paper this weekend as 29CM, the e-commerce platform known for its curated lifestyle products, hosts its first-ever offline stationery fair, Inventario: 2025.
The event, which runs through Sunday, reflects a significant shift in the stationery market -- moving beyond traditional office supplies to embrace products that reflect personal tastes and creative expression.
The name "Inventario" -- taken from the Spanish word for "inventory" -- gives a hint at the spirit of the event: a catalog, an archive, a living collection of stories told through the tools we use daily.
Inside, it's a creative playground where visitors can explore how stationery has evolved from simple necessities to customized, lifestyle-defining pieces. What was once just a pencil or a planner is now a way to communicate personal style.
Curated by 29CM and Point of View, the premium stationery store, Inventario: 2025 showcases an array of over 69 brands -- ranging from well-established giants to rising stars in the stationery world.
Walking through the exhibit feels like entering a gallery of tactile art -- each booth a curated masterpiece, each product a conversation starter. There's an overwhelming sense that these aren't just tools, but objects of personal identity.
Point of View, known as the 'stationery shop for adults,' has worked with 29CM for five years, during which their partnership has seen significant growth — sales surged more than tenfold in 2024. The growing demand for personalized stationery is evident, with 29CM reporting a threefold increase in stationery sales from January to March 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The majority of this demand comes from women aged 25 to 39, who are increasingly using stationery as a form of personal expression.
The fair is not just about browsing beautiful products. Inventario: 2025 aims to offer an interactive playground for creativity.
Visitors can dive into hands-on activities from creating art pieces, or testing their stamping skills at the 'Layers Together' zone. Here, five celebrated illustrators invite attendees to create their own pieces using their stamp designs. The room is buzzing with energy as visitors experiment with textures, colors and compositions — transforming ordinary paper into personal masterpieces.
One of the fair's most intriguing features is Point of View's special exhibition, which offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creative processes of contemporary artists. The tools used by 10 prominent creators including Choi Jin-young -- pens, brushes and pencils -- are on display, each telling a story of how stationery plays an integral role in artistic vision.
Exclusive collaborations are another highlight. Global Chemical, a venerable brand with over 60 years of history, has teamed up with the up-and-coming Kitty Bunny Pony to release a limited-edition, eight-color pencil set. This isn't your childhood crayon box -- it's a reimagined childhood nostalgia, designed with adult tastes in mind.
In another collaboration, Hwarang, a local eraser manufacturer with more than 70 years of experience, has partnered with OIMU, a brand reinterpreting Korean culture through modern design, to create a redesigned jumbo rubber eraser with Korean-inspired illustrations.
Several popular brands are also featured at the fair. Mohs, a design studio known for its bold geometric patterns and vibrant color schemes, showcases products, including diaries and cup coasters, that have gained significant popularity.
Warmgrey Tail, a brand inspired by nature, is also on display, offering unique illustrations for items such as posters, fabric goods and tableware. Their Bunny Bunny Face Towel has become a popular gift item, while their products continue to resonate with consumers seeking playful and distinctive designs for their living spaces.
OIMU, a brand that merges traditional Korean cultural values with modern design, has also garnered attention for its products, such as bookmarks made from traditional hanbok lining fabric and incense sticks. OIMU recently collaborated with the Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' in its merchandise.

1 in 4 Koreans aged 20–50 invests in crypto

About 1 in 4 Koreans aged 20 to 50 currently holds virtual assets, with the majority of these investors being men in their 30s and 40s working in white-collar jobs, a new report from the Hana Institute of Finance showed Sunday. The report, titled 2050 Generation's Virtual Asset Investment Trends, highlights how investor behavior has evolved from trend-chasing to a more analytical and planned approach. The study shows that aggressive and risk-tolerant individuals are significantly more likely to invest in cryptocurrencies. Despite holding fewer liquid assets than the average, these investors allocate more capital overall to financial products, with virtual assets comprising some 14 percent of their total holdings. Initially driven by fear of missing out, or FOMO, motivations for virtual asset investment have shifted. Now, more investors cite growth potential, portfolio diversification and structured savings as key reasons. Channels for gathering investment information have also changed, with reliance on peer influence declining and the use of official exchanges and analytical platforms rising. 'Virtual assets are already playing a central role in investor portfolios and will likely become more mainstream. As such, there is strong demand for legal frameworks and expanded roles for traditional financial institutions," said Yoon Sun-young, a research fellow at Hana Institute of Finance. For banks, it is both an opportunity and a challenge, according to Yoon. "They must prepare proactively for ecosystem expansion by diversifying crypto-based financial products and enhancing integrated investment management.' However, friction in the investment process persists. Some 76 percent of respondents reported inconvenience due to the inability to link their existing bank accounts to crypto exchanges. This issue stems largely from the mandatory one-exchange, one-bank system in Korea. When choosing a trading platform, investors now prioritize which bank the exchange is linked with over the platform's interface or trading features. Currently, 70 percent of respondents currently use Upbit, which is linked to K bank. The report also indicates that 7 in 10 respondents are interested in future investments in virtual assets. Many view integration with traditional financial institutions and stronger regulatory frameworks as key to improving trust and convenience. Notably, over half of current investors said they would consider expanding their relationship with banks offering crypto-related services if incentivized with promotions or benefits. Bitcoin remains the most favored asset, but former investors show growing interest in stablecoins, a type of cryptocurrency the value of which is pegged to another asset, such as a fiat currency or gold, especially those that could be introduced through regulated channels.

AMSTERDAM, June 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Vinamilk, Vietnam's leading dairy company, presented its science-driven innovation strategy at the Global Dairy Congress (GDC) 2025 and was honoured with two prestigious accolades at the 2025 World Dairy Innovation Awards. A Highlight of Science-Based Nutrition at GDC-18 Held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, 18th Global Dairy Congress brought together nearly 200 industry leaders to explore emerging trends and the future of the global dairy sector. Under the theme "Dairy for All Ages", the event focused on inclusive nutrition, innovation, and sustainable solutions to serve consumers at every life stage. As the sole representative from Southeast Asia to deliver a presentation, Vinamilk marked its fifth appearance at the event, highlighting how advanced technology and scientific applications unlock and enhance nature's gifts, reinforcing its commitment to industry excellence. At GDC 2025, a premier global platform for the dairy industry, Vinamilk showcased cutting-edge dairy products under the theme "Born by Nature, Perfected by Science", demonstrating its innovation strategy to preserve and enhance the natural value of dairy while meeting diverse health and nutrition needs. Highlighted products included the Green Farm's product line, Vinamilk Optimum, and Plant-Based Milk. Green Farm was featured as a case study in harnessing nature's potential through advanced dairy technology. Its proprietary air-sealed technology reduces free oxygen radicals in milk by up to 50%, preserving freshness, floral aroma, and natural taste. Using European ultra-filtration technology, Green Farm High Protein Milk offers a smart, additive-free nutritional solution: high protein, rich calcium, low fat, and lactose-free meeting the rising demand for personalized nutrition. Meanwhile, Green Farm Drinking Yogurt is the first and only product in Vietnam to include six European probiotic strains, delivering 720 million live cultures that boost flavor and digestive health. A key scientific breakthrough was also emphasized with Vinamilk Optimum, an exclusive infant formula inspired by breast milk. For the first time in Vietnam, it incorporates six Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs), representing 58% of the total HMO content found in breast milk, the highest concentration available in the market. Furthermore, Vinamilk also became Southeast Asia's first dairy producer to adopt Tetra Pak's wholesome soy grinding technology, enhancing soy nutrition, and reducing waste in line with its sustainability goals. Building on Vinamilk's science-led approach that unites nature and technology, Dr. Richard Hall, Chairman and Founder of the Global Dairy Congress, remarked: "Dairy has long been a cornerstone of nutrition, but it must keep evolving to meet human needs. We cannot consume hundreds of products at once—we have to choose what's 'best for me.' Now more than ever, technology is empowering the dairy industry to go further and last longer." From Emerging Market to Global Player At this year's congress, Vinamilk was honored with two distinguished awards at the 2025 World Dairy Innovation Awards. Its Green Farm High-Protein Greek Yogurt was named Best Yogurt, while the Plant-Based Vinamilk Yogurt received the award for Best Packaging Design. These achievements underscore Vinamilk's unwavering commitment to innovation and creativity in the global dairy industry. Although relatively young, Vietnam's dairy industry has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past five decades with Vinamilk at the forefront of modernizing production and advancing science-based nutrition. "By honoring the essence of nature and enriching it with cutting-edge science, we remain committed to delivering nutritious products that stay true to their natural origins—in both taste and nourishment. Our journey of relentless innovation, guided by our mission 'Care to make it real,' is devoted to consumer health and to shaping a sustainable, world-class dairy industry for Vietnam," said Nguyen Quang Tri, Chief Marketing Officer of Vinamilk. In 2024 alone, Vinamilk introduced 125 new products—about one every two working days—reflecting both its responsiveness to personalized nutrition trends and its commitment to global standards. As a result, this innovation has earned international acclaim, including the Monde Selection (EU), Superior Taste Award (EU), and Clean Label Project Certification (USA), placing Vietnamese dairy on par with global quality benchmarks. With a strong global network of partners, 17 factories, and 15 internationally certified farms, Vinamilk integrates advanced technology across its entire supply chain to preserve nutrition, ensure safety, and elevate product quality. Established in 1976, Vinamilk is not only Vietnam's No.1 dairy brand, but also exports to over 65 countries, ranks among the Top 36 global dairy companies by revenue, and is recognized as the 6th most valuable dairy brand in the world.
