Fraser was a well-known face on the international circuit, working senior roles at Red Arrow Studios International (now Seven.One Studios International) and Sky Vision (now part of Sky Studios) in London. His primarily skill as a dealmaker was financing European co-productions in both scripted and unscripted.
Over a career lasting nearly 25 years, Fraser ran his own consultancy, AMF Consulting, and held several key posts at major distributors. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Eagle Rock Entertainment and IMG Media, where he met the likes of industry veteran Henrik Pabst, who later hired him as EVP Acquisitions & Content Investment at ProSiebenSat.1 Media's Red Arrow Studios International.
'I met Alex 20 years ago at IMG Media and from minute one, he was supportive and welcoming, which helped me a lot and started our friendship,' said Pabst.
'Alex was one of these rare souls, very funny and cynically sharp, yet with a heart of half of the size of his body. His view on life and on work topics helped me often to see clearer. Thank you, Alex. Hanging out with him on the Autobahn at Cologne Carneval or laughing and gossiping over a good meal somewhere on this planet will never be forgotten. I will miss you, my dear friend.'
Pabst is now CEO of Married at First Sight and Vienna Blood firm Seven.One Studios and Chief Content Officer, Entertainment for Seven.One Entertainment, which is part of German giant ProSiebenSat.1.
Niki Page, who worked with Fraser twice during his career, said: 'I knew Alex on both a professional and personal level, and he was a truly exceptional person. We worked together at Sky Vision and later at Red Arrow, where his vast network of contacts in the UK and U.S. made him a great dealmaker.
'He was a font of industry knowledge — knowing who worked where, who bought what, and who might be in line to make the next big move. His expertise was invaluable to all of us. On a personal level, I will miss him terribly — his dry sense of humour, quick wit, sharp intelligence, and, above all, his big heart. Alex's presence left a lasting impact, and his friendship was something I will always cherish.'
Malcolm Gerrie, who runs the Lionsgate-owned UK producer Whizz Kid Entertainment, said: 'I was deeply saddened to hear about Alex's passing and my thoughts are with his friends and family. We first met in the early nineties when Alex was working for Greg Roselli's Big Picture company, and I was running Initial TV. We desperately needed distribution and Greg and Alex were a perfect fit for us: Passionate about good ideas, well connected and progressive.
'Alex was hugely likeable, charming, and smart. He knew everyone and his gentle manner was a hit both with producers and buyers. He became a popular, friendly face at MIPTV and MIPCOM and was the go-to person for the very best gossip in Cannes. He will be sorely missed.'

How Chelsea justified the Club World Cup's existence by sinking PSG in stunning final
Chelsea have done the unthinkable. At the culmination of a tournament that has been widely detracted for non-footballing matters, the beautiful game prevailed. They've beaten the planet's best to become champions of the world, against all odds. Paris Saint-Germain, a team whose recent success stems from a philosophy that focuses on the collective, were dismantled by an individual. Cole Palmer has endured a tough six months, but provided an overwhelming reminder of his quality to guide the Blues to immortality. Scoring two and setting up the third, 'cold' became the epitaph of a tournament that has been synonymous with heat. The Club World Cup has been shrouded in controversy and criticism since its inception. Seen by many as an unnecessary addition to an already-crammed footballing calendar, with Fifa president Gianni Infantino thrusting himself into the centre of attention in pursuit of perceived personal political gain, people have seen through Fifa's mirage of extravagance. On Sunday, FifPro – the world's main player union – branded Infantino 'the man who thinks he's god' after he snubbed the body for a 'key' meeting over footballer welfare, with the union claiming that the governing body was 'silencing' football's key protagonists. But as the walls closed in on kick-off at the MetLife Stadium, the stands packed to a degree rarely seen in the competition, Fifa made one final effort to demonstrate the Club World Cup's perceived 'success' through showmanship. Robbie Williams showed off his pipes before an ungodly amount of yellow pyro was released into the surrounding atmosphere. All that preceded a rousing rendition of 'Star-Spangled Banner' and a trademark military flyover, as Donald Trump joined Infantino in the presidential box on the one-year anniversary of his attempted assassination. That explained the heavy security presence in East Rutherford, namely the secret service. If European champions PSG emerged from today's finale as title-winners, as many expected for a team that actually is the best in the world, football would not have been the main topic of discussion. Their victory would have merely confirmed what we already felt we knew, that this Parisian powerhouse, sculpted by Luis Enrique, is unbeatable. Chelsea strived to rewrite the script, shifting focus off politics and back onto football. 'It may be impossible to you, but not to us,' captain Reece James said. No one truly knew how Enzo Maresca's side was going to approach this. Maybe they sit back and try and catch PSG on the counter – because surely they can't beat the French giants at their own game? Think again. Chelsea started with intent. They were pushing PSG back, dealing them a dose of their own medicine as they piled on the early pressure. 'The first 10 minutes, the team was there to show that we were there to win the game,' said Maresca. 'That set the tone of the game.' Everyone in the ground thought the London underdogs had snatched a shock lead when Cole Palmer, latching onto a beautiful flick from Joao Pedro, bent towards the top corner and made the net ripple. His shot had gone just wide of the post and ricocheting off the support behind the goal into the net, creating the illusion of an opener. It was a poor miss for Palmer's standards, but he made no same mistake when opportunity arose again. Taking his time after being teed up by Malo Gusto, he slotted into the bottom-left corner from the outside of the box, firing beyond the reach on the long-limbed Gianluigi Donnarumma to give Chelsea an invaluable breakthrough on 22 minutes. We braced ourselves for what felt like the inevitable PSG response – the one that would see the Parisians unleash a demolition on the Blues for even daring to threaten their dominance. But it didn't come. Instead, Chelsea made it two, just eight minutes later. Palmer with an identical finish, delightfully dummying his man after Joao Pedro dragged namesake Joao Neves away from contention with a crucial decoy run. The Brazilian, who had been proving throughout the first half that his stunning Fluminense brace was not simply down to beginner's luck, deserved his flowers for his subtle part in doubling Chelsea's lead. But there was no nuance to Joao Pedro's involvement in the eventual third. Linking up with Palmer once more as half-time drew closer, he latched onto a defence-splitting ball in behind before dinking Donnarumma, giving Chelsea what suddenly felt like an insurmountable advantage, even for this PSG team. Barring a stunning capitulation, Chelsea were on the brink of becoming world champions. PSG's youthful exuberance has been at the heart of their success over the past eight months, finally achieving their holy grail in winning the Champions League. They looked unfazed in Munich, putting on a clinic to record the most devastating European Cup final victory in history. But here, for the first time, the lack of experience of Enrique's game-changers was being exposed. Desire Doue, 20, should have given PSG the lead earlier in the first half, before Palmer had a chance to inflict his damage. Put on a plate for him by Kvhicha Kvaratskhelia's low cross, he bewildering chose to square back towards Achraf Hakimi from a few yards out instead of tapping past Robert Sanchez for what looked a simple finish. It was a glaring miss that no doubt changed the course of the game – and history – as PSG's reputation as a unconquerable force was chipped away. An over-the-top American-style half-time show involving Coldplay's Chris Martin and Doja Cat perhaps invigorated a now-desperate PSG side, who came out for the second period looking to spark a comeback. They looked certain to reduce the deficit when Ousmane Dembele, who has 35 goals to his name this season, received the ball on the edge of the six-yard box, only to be denied from close range by the regularly lamented Robert Sanchez, whose outstretched arm somehow pushed the Frenchman's effort around the post. The Spaniard's intervention was pivotal in preventing what could have easily been a PSG resurgence. The Parisians continued to seek a way back into the game, but Chelsea were now playing to frustrate, to wind their opponents up. Chelsea's master of such an art is Marc Cucurella, who after being hacked down in his own box, makes sure to stay down and milk the moment, resisting the frenzied attempts of Neves to pick him up by sandbagging the Portuguese midfielder. To say that the 20-year-old was irritated was an understatement. He tried getting his revenge with five minutes to play, pulling the Spaniard's increasingly iconic curly locks in an ill-advised release of frustration. But in a world of VAR, that was only going to end one way, as Neves was promptly shown red to leave PSG at a further numerical disadvantage as the final drew to its conclusion. Any debate over player investment in the competition was quashed at full-time as ugly scenes broke out between the two sides. Their club's untouchable status no more, Luis Enrique and Donnarumma lost their heads as a brawl broke out, Joao Pedro seemingly PSG's common enemy as their Spanish tactician hit the Chelsea newcomer with a post-match slap. 'Everyone wants to win the game and in the end I think they lose their heads,' the Brazilian reflected. Maybe a sour end to a tournament that's had its fair share of issues, but if nothing else, it showed the players and coaches truly do care about the Club World Cup. And as Chelsea ran over to celebrate in front their sea of blue supporters, finally separated from fisticuffs with the French, what they had achieved felt seismic. Not solely thanks to the occasion, but because of the opponent and the nature of the victory. 'Winning this trophy against such good opposition sends a big statement,' James added. 'I'm happy with how much the club has progressed.' Is this the pinnacle of Chelsea's rebuild? They'll hope not. Despite the grandiose status of 'world champions' and the golden badge that will represent such a fact for the next four years, there are still bigger fish to fry. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Stephanie's Place: Stephanie is prepping for her meeting with EJ and ignoring Alex. He continues talking about his day at work whilst she pays little attention. She's lost clients recently and could use the work. Alex wants her to write full time but she isn't so sure. With that, he shows her the mock up for her book cover. Stephanie loves the cover and has no notes. She even loves her pseudonym, Anastasia Sands. Alex loves they used her Grandma Jo's (nice!) romance novels as inspiration for the name. She can't believe the book she wrote for fun is going to be out in the world. Alex reports Kate is making it her number one priority to put the Titan publishing reboot on the map. With that, they get all hot and heavy… until Kayla interrupts and Alex quickly exits. Stephanie fills in her mother on EJ's job offer. She says she would actually be working for her and the hospital. Stephanie wonders whether she should accept the potential offer. Kayla thinks she would be a tremendous asset but thinks she should run in the opposite direction. She worries about the big changes EJ wants to make. Kayla thinks spinning EJ's actions could be incredibly tricky. Stephanie thinks she could use her position to highlight the hospital in the best possible way. Just then, Alex returns and Kayla tries to make a quick exit. As she gets up, she sees the mock up for Stephanie's book cover. Alex says Titan is publishing it and Kayla notes it went around the hospital and she LOVES it. With that, she exits. Hernandez House: Rafe gets a text from 'Kelly Jones' for their meetup in 20 minutes. Gabi walks in having forgotten a binder and wonders where he's off to. He says he has a meeting but she realizes he's being secret agent man. Rafe shifts topics asking about Arianna Grace. Gabi plays it off saying she's trying to play it cool as she assumes she's having the time of her life. Titan/DiMera: Xander is doing business whilst Victoria is crying. He walks his daughter around but she continues to cry. Just then, Gabi arrives willing to help. Xander is resistant but Gabi says it's always a good idea to let someone else help. Gabi quickly gets Victoria to sleep and Xander is amazed. She tells him not to overthink it as they've been separated for a month. Gabi thinks Xander and his daughter just need to get reacquainted. She says she's in a similar position as her daughter has just moved home after a long separation. With that, they get to work. Gabi brings up the holiday campaign for Gabi Chic. Xander notes that video should already have been shot along with the one with him and Philip. He wonders if hiring Johnny, with all of his legal baggage, was the best move. Gabi reminds Xander of his own baggage and encourages him to cut Johnny a break (These two have mad chemistry). Park: Cat runs into Thomas and Chad in the park. Thomas asks if Cat wants to play catch but Chad says another time. Thomas offers his glove but Cat says she can't play right now. Thomas pushes but Cat says she has some place to be. Just then, Chad remembers spying a suspicious text on Cat's phone. With that, she exits. Thomas asks his father why he was trying to get rid of Cat. He says he just wanted some alone time with his son. DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Gwen arrives downstairs, much to EJ's chagrin. She's ready to gather her belongings and move in but EJ says construction is happening and must wait a few days. EJ notices Gwen's necklace and then realizes it was the same one stolen from Julie Williams. She says she bought it without being aware of it's origin. EJ assumes she will return it. Gwen says she will do so when hell freezes over. EJ notes her Horton grudge. Gwen wonders why she wouldn't hold one after 'that hag' Laura sent her and her mother packing before Jack knew she existed. In addition, they all treated her like trash when she first moved to Salem. EJ thinks there are two sides to every story. Just then, Chad and Thomas walk in. Thomas asks Gwen why she has Julie's necklace and wonders why she won't return it. Gwen says there has been some confusion about the owner of the necklace. EJ thinks it will all sort itself out and Chad concurs. Rafe's Office: Cat arrives with information about EJ's finances. Rafe says the FBI and ISA have set up an interagency task force to take down the DiMeras. She understands it's the best time to strike as the family seems to be off their game. They both agree starting with the purchase of University Hospital is a good place to start. Cat is curious why this investigation is so personal to him. Rafe tells Cat about the decades long Arnold saga. Cat wonders how EJ does all these horrible things and then comes off as so normal. Rafe thinks EJ is a sociopath who will do anything to get what he wants. Cat says she also has a personal stake in the investigation as the doctors at University Hospital saved Felicity's life. Cat mentions her connection to Chad. Rafe says Chad knows his family's history but says he's the good one. She also worries about Aaron and Felicity (What about Mark? Don't forget about Mark!) getting hurt by her work with the ISA. Rafe understands as he's also protective of his siblings. Cat worries about this assignment as they will be out in the field. Rafe promises to have her back and says he can show her some basic self defense moves. Days of Our Lives Recap: Kristen and Gwen Reunite Endings Chad sends Thomas upstairs so he can light into Gwen about her treatment of Julie. He wants her gone, which tickles EJ. Gwen ignores him saying she has business dealings. Chad says to stay away from his family (Did y'all notice EJ looking like the cat who ate the canary?). Gwen notes she is a part of both sides of his family as she is still married to Dimitri. She says she wants to soak up her DiMera identity and will be moving into the family home. Xander thanks Gabi for helping with Victoria. She says parenting is a challenge but worth it. Gabi makes mention of not being able to have another baby and thinks Xander should be grateful for his entire life. Xander understands he has everything he ever wanted… except Sarah. Rafe thinks Cat's financial information on EJ confirms he had a silent partner in purchasing the hospital. Stephanie is HORRIFIED her mother read all the steamy parts of her novel. Alex gets tickled and says it's all good because she doesn't know who wrote it. She quickly changes directions so they can get back to reenacting page 86.
