Deadpool actor Reynolds responded to Wrexham's own kit launch this week by posting a picture of himself on Instagram wearing the latest shirt while holding a dog.

Swansea reacted to their Welsh rivals by turning to another famous face for their kit unveiling ahead of the 2025-26 season, posting on X: 'Dogg included @SnoopDogg.
'Nuthin' But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. We're the Pride of Wales.'

West Coast rapper and record producer Snoop Dogg is a keen sports fan and worked as a correspondent for NBC at the Paris Olympics last year.
Snoop also carried the Olympic torch in the closing stages of the relay.
The 53-year-old has previously spoken of investing in Celtic – similar to the involvement of Reynolds and his fellow actor Rob McElhenney at Wrexham – and been pictured in the kits of various English clubs in recent years.
Swansea and Wrexham will be rivals in the Championship this season following the Red Dragons' three successive promotions under their Hollywood owners.

It is the first time Wrexham have been in the second tier of English football since 1982.
While Reynolds and McElhenney have entertained some of the biggest names in Hollywood at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground in recent years, Swansea have their own touch of glamour in South Wales.
Croatia midfielder Luka Modric, who has just left Real Madrid after 13 seasons with the Spanish giants, invested in Swansea three months ago to become a minority owner at the club.

Children from across Livingston celebrate Bastille Day in true French style

The celebration brought France to West Lothian with French music, food, games, and art activities, offering young learners a memorable introduction to both the language and culture of France. Children from across Livingston celebrated Bastille Day in true French style this week as local French teacher, Sandra Kasparek's popular bilingual summer camp launched its 2025 season with a festive, fun-filled day of cultural immersion and language learning. Set in a private venue in Livingston, Sandra's French-themed Holiday Activities Club opened its doors on 14 July - Bastille Day, France's national holiday, marking the start of an exciting summer of creativity, connection, and bilingual discovery. ‌ The celebration brought France to West Lothian with French music, food, games, and art activities, offering young learners a memorable introduction to both the language and culture of France. ‌ 'This was the perfect way to kick off camp,' said Sandra Kasparek, a seasoned French teacher and licensee of the award-winning La Jolie Ronde Programme. 'Bastille Day is a fantastic opportunity for children to connect with French traditions in a fun, meaningful way. It sets the tone for the rest of the summer where every day is a blend of language, learning, and laughter.' Sandra has been running French classes in Livingston for over 15 years, and her summer camp has grown into a beloved local tradition. This year, excitement reached new heights with children from as far afield as Keswick in Cumbria returning for the vibrant, bilingual experience. The Bastille Day celebration was just the beginning. Throughout July and into August, children will enjoy a range of hands-on activities including baking, arts and crafts, dance, outdoor games, and role-playing—all conducted in both English and French. ‌ It's an immersive approach that keeps children engaged while developing real-world language skills. Parent Jane, from Livingston, said: 'My daughter Grace has been attending Sandra's Summer Camp for a few years now, and every year, she can't wait to go back. 'Grace absolutely loves meeting new friends from all over, and the fun activities keep her engaged while boosting her language skills. ‌ 'It's more than just a camp, it's a place where she feels at home and excited to learn. Every time summer approaches, she's the first to ask, 'When can I go back to Sandra's holiday club?' Sandra's camp is open for both full-day (9am–4pm) and half-day bookings, with discounts available for multi-day attendance. The programme not only boosts language confidence but also creates a warm and welcoming environment where children feel at home. ‌ 'What we do here is more than just language lessons,' added Sandra. 'It's about building confidence, sparking curiosity, and creating lasting memories. Seeing children so eager to return year after year, especially on a day like Bastille Day, reminds me how powerful and joyful learning can be.'

Wrexham owner heartbroken after manager didn't tell him his favourite player was leaving

Wrexham owner heartbroken after manager didn't tell him his favourite player was leaving One of Wrexham's Hollywood co-owners has opened up on how he was devastated to learn of the departure of a key player via social media, reflecting on the emotional impact Rob McElhenney, who co-owns Wrexham with Ryan Reynolds, has revealed his shock over a player's departure (Image: Simon Stacpoole/Offside/Getty Images ) Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has revealed how he was left heartbroken after learning about the departure of one of his favourite players via social media. The Red Dragons have said goodbye to several stars since securing a third consecutive promotion to the Championship in April, including stalwart goalkeeper Mark Howard and veteran striker Steven Fletcher. Meanwhile, it was announced last month that Wrexham talisman Paul Mullin would be joining Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan after falling out of favour under manager Phil Parkinson last season. ‌ McElhenney, who recently filed to legally change his name to Rob Mac, has now opened up on the emotional impact of saying goodbye to players who have been a key part of the club's success. The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor and co-creator said he only discovered one team member was leaving this summer after reading about it on X, formerly known as Twitter. ‌ Speaking on the Pardon My Take podcast, McElhenney added that he was not informed of the impending exit by Parkinson beforehand but defended the approach taken by the former Bolton and Sunderland boss. The 48-year-old said: "I found out one of my favourite players was released from the team this year. I found out via Twitter and I was just as shocked as he was. It was his statement, and the manager hadn't told us yet. "He talked to the player, which is what he should have done, the player talked to his teammates and then put out a statement, which is his right to do. My heart was broken and I did not see it coming. Article continues below Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has opened up about the challenges of running a football club (Image: Chris Jackson/PA Wire ) "The players will often play themselves out of a job. This happened with a few of our players where they gave their hearts, their souls and their effort and helped us get promoted. "For that, us, the club and the town are eternally grateful. But what winds up happening is, you go up a league, and maybe they're 36 or 37 years old, and you need somebody who's 21 or 22. They accept that, but it still doesn't make it easy and it's not fun." ‌ Wrexham were playing in the National League when McElhenney and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds first bought the club in February 2021. The North Wales outfit has since enjoyed three promotions in a row, with the two actors helping to lift the team into the second tier. During the interview, McElhenney lifted the lid on how he approached Reynolds about joining his bid to buy a football club. He also discussed the warning he received from his wife, Kaitlin Olson, before contacting the Canadian megastar. "Originally, I was going to do it on my own and ask Ryan if he wanted to be a sponsor with Aviation Gin as the front of kit sponsor. "The more I thought about it, the more I realised that he's such an entrepreneur. He's globally famous, whatever he touches seems to turn to gold and if I could potentially include him as a partner, that could take this thing into the stratosphere. "I remember asking my wife about it, and I said, 'Caitlin, what do you think about me asking Ryan to be a full partner on this?' She said, 'I don't know. I guess it depends on whether your ego can take sharing the screen with Ryan.'" Article continues below Highlighting the key to their success as owners, he added: "We were honest from the very beginning, and we went in with our hearts on our sleeves and said, 'We don't know anything about football.' I was not even a fan of the beautiful game up until five years ago, and now I'm horrifically addicted."

Jack van Poortvliet: Patient England earned their reward

It came after a second half that had been played almost exclusively in Argentinian territory, with Van Poortvliet explaining how the team did not panic, even as they let chance after chance go begging. In the end though, a muscular break from Guy Pepper, in only his second cap, ended with Van Poortvliet collecting an offloading and racing over for the match-winner. He said: 'There was a lot of frustration that we couldn't score. I think the whole 25 minutes I was on it was pretty much in their half. And we were just not quite getting there. We'd have a half break and not be able to finish it off. We knew we were doing the right things but we just couldn't get that last bit. 'We just said, 'be patient, it'll come. Keep doing the basics, keep getting the ruck right, because they kept competing at the ruck; keep getting the edge right and things like that to try and expose them'. We got there eventually. We knew if we kept banging the door we'd get a chance and luckily we had one in the end.' It completes an impressive fortnight in Argentina for England, having won the first Test in La Plata 35-12 last Saturday. All that was achieved without 13 players away on Lions duty, while Jamie George was a late withdrawal for this encounter after he was called up as a replacement for Luke Cowan-Dickie, with the England co-captain watching from the stands. For Van Poortvliet, who made his England debut on a summer tour of Australia three years ago, the way this inexperienced team has stepped up can only bode well for the future. He added: 'I love touring with England. I think probably the best experience before this tour is probably my first tour in the Australia tour I had with England. 'To come here and do that and to have a moment like that at the end was really special. I've loved these last three weeks. They've been absolutely brilliant. To cap it off with another win was amazing. 'I just think it shows the talent and depth that there is in this country. You've seen the quality of the under-20s teams there's been in the last few years. They're now all coming through. Tours like these are brilliant for people to take their opportunity and keep piling on pressure. 'It's amazing to see the boys away with Lions doing so well, but they go away and it's your opportunity to try and put your hand up. So many people have done that. It only increases competition for when everyone's back in the autumn. It shows what a good place English rugby is in at the minute. 'Coming off the back of a strong end to the Six Nations and then to build to this with a new group and to keep pushing forward is promising. It shows the depth we have in this country. 'We think we've got so much further to go. We're excited where we are right now, but we can take it so much further and we know that as a group. We're excited to try and do that.'
