Monday saw the hottest start to Wimbledon on record, with 32.9C recorded at nearby Kew Gardens, while 33.1C was recorded at Heathrow.
Temperatures across much of the region are expected to reach into the 30s again today.
In the south east, figures could climb as high as a sweltering 36C, according to the Met Office.
However, the rest of the UK is predicted more changeable conditions.
Alex Burkill, meteorologist at the Met Office, said there would be a 'three-way split' across the UK on Tuesday, with high temperatures and 'lots of sunshine on offer' in south, central and eastern England.
'There will be a bit of cloud here and there – you can't even rule out one or two showers developing – but actually, across parts of the far South East, barely a cloud in the sky,' he said.
'With all that sunshine, with all the hot weather that we've had recently, the heat's going to continue to build (and) temperatures are going to rise a little bit higher.
'Towards the South East many places high 20s (or) low 30s, but there's potential that we could be looking at around 34, 35, maybe even 36C tomorrow.'
But scattered showers coming from the south west are due to hit parts of Wales and northern England later today, Mr Burkill added.
Elsewhere, in north-west Scotland and Northern Ireland, conditions are set to remain dry.

And, a channel of slightly cooler air is expected to move in from the continent over Tuesday night into Wednesday.
This should see sweltering nights start to feel 'a bit more comfortable' in many places, the forecaster said.
A "chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms" will also cut through the heat in the southeast on Wednesday morning.
Heavy showers are also expected in the northeast, although downpours are due to ease up into the afternoon.
Later in the week, more rain is forecast in the northwest, which will lead into a "widely unsettled" weekend for all.
But temperatures are set to remain close to average for the time of year.
This comes after the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) extended amber heat health alerts for much of the country into Wednesday morning.
The UKHSA warnings for Yorkshire and the Humber, the East Midlands, the West Midlands, the East of England, London, the South East and the South West are now in place until 9am on Wednesday.
A yellow heat health alert has also been extended to the same time for the North West.
Since 1960, UK temperatures in June have surpassed 34C in only three years, with the hottest being 35.6C, recorded on June 28 1976.
A heatwave in the UK is met when a location records a period of at least three consecutive days, with temperature values meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature thresholds.
Across the north and west of the UK this is 25C, and across Greater London and the Home Counties, 28C.
Charlwood, in Surrey, recorded the hottest temperature of the year so far at 33.2C on June 21.
Wimbledon fans were spotted yesterday shielding themselves from the sun as they queued up for tickets on the opening day of the hotly-anticipated tennis Championships.
It was the hottest opening day ever, with temperatures surpassing the previous record of 29.3C set in 2001.

The hottest day the tournament has seen was in 2015 when temperatures reached 35.7C.
And the rest of Britain grew warmer than holiday hotspots like Ibiza, where highs of 29C were forecast yesterday.
Thousands of Brits have flocked to beaches and outdoor pools today to soak up the summer rays.
However, Brits have been warned heat could cause issues for commuters, with Network Rail, Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express advising passengers to check before they travel today.
Sections of the Brighton Main Line in particular could see delays due to speed restrictions being in place.
This is due to the on track temperatures likely to hit 50C.
A spokesperson for Network Rail and the train operators said: 'With temperatures set to soar as forecast by the Met Office, speed restrictions have to be imposed across large parts of the network to ensure everyone's safety.
'We're sorry but this means we won't be able to run as many trains as normal and journeys will take longer.
"Trains that are running will also be much busier. If you are able to work from home then that may be your best option.
'If you do take the train, then please remember to take a bottle of water and if you begin to feel unwell, seek help at the next station and speak to station staff.
"Pulling emergency alarms onboard may delay us getting help to you.'
And, London Fire Brigade assistant commissioner Thomas Goodall added: 'London is already facing its second heatwave of the year and we know that people will be looking forward to getting outside to enjoy the wonderful weather.
'But the high temperatures and low rainfall in recent months means the current risk of wildfires is severe.
'So far this year, firefighters have responded to around 14 wildfires in the capital.
'There have also been countless callouts to smaller fires involving grass, trees and in other outdoor spaces, as well as in people's gardens.
'During this latest heatwave, it is important everyone acts responsibly to prevent fires from occurring.
'As the weather has been so dry, it only takes a few sparks to lead to a fire spreading rapidly.
'In London, this is can be dangerous because so many of our green spaces lie close to homes and other properties.'

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas looked as loved-up as ever as they watched the action on the third day of the Wimbledon Championships on Wednesday. Priyanka, 42, cut a sophisticated figure in a white sleeveless shirt dress with a billowing skirt. The Indian actress added to her frame with a pair of white strapped heels and shielded her eyes with oval sunglasses. The Met Office said temperatures were up to 26C (79F) rather than Tuesday's boiling 32C (90F). Wednesday's matches have seen seven Britons attempting to reach the third round, including face-offs between Cameron Norrie and the US' Frances Tiafoe, and Carlos Alcaraz and Oliver Tarvet. Emma Raducanu will be on Centre Court as she faces former champion Markéta Vondroušová and Katie Boulter will play against Solana Sierra. Wimbledon diary: England managers, SUVs and Jack Draper's facial hair

That's not just the diary saying it. Meteorologists have also been at it. With the heat dropping from 33C on Tuesday afternoon to a positively respectable and comprehensible 22C on Wednesday morning, there was a sudden shift in both temperature and behaviour at the All England Club. For starters, shorts and T-shirts were out, replaced by an avalanche of linen suits. Queues at the water stations had dribbled away from 40 deep on Monday and Tuesday, according to one vendor, to nobody at all. Even at the Wimbledon pharmacy, the small concession that caters to your short-term health needs, there had been a shift in consumer habits. In the first 48 hours all anyone had wanted was sun cream, and there was a wall full of the stuff as proof. But come Wednesday normality had been restored, with the most popular product once again the blister pack of plasters for people wearing uncomfortable shoes. Or at least Jack Draper is, the man-mountain British No 1 and adult human obliged to answer the question of what it's like to be the new Andy Murray every day. Draper was on the way to dispatching his first-round opponent, Sebastián Báez, with almost embarrassing ease on Tuesday before the Argentinian retired injured, but the home hope immediately walked into a more challenging encounter over how he styled his hair. Draper has until recently been sporting a beard but, while he shaved it off for Wimbledon, he kept his tentative moustache intact, which led to 'abuse from pretty much everyone I've seen'. The 23-year-old has now pledged to get rid of it before his second-round match, but promised fans that he would remain grooming curious as he builds his career. 'One thing you will see with me over the years is a lot of different hairstyles, a lot of different things, because I'm very experimental with that sort of stuff,' he said. 'Do I get bored? Yeah. There will be a lot of different things. My brother doesn't like it but there will be a lot.' This one is perhaps more subjective but the Diary and sources close to the Diary have been impressed with the collection turned out by Adidas for this year's Championships. Called 'London Originals' and riffing on the styles sported by Stan Smith and Billie Jean King in the 70s, this 36-piece collection is obviously described in the blurb as 'modern but timeless' but they're kind of right. Queen of the look is Britain's Sonay Kartal, who has been wearing the cropped 'Climacool polo shirt' with its fashionable boxy silhouette (think Billie Eilish with a backhand) but with some classic argyle patterning and little touches of Stan Smith green on the arms and logo, too. This touch of colour stays within Wimbledon's all-white rules, something King this week said she thought should be done away with. 'They shouldn't have the same uniforms on,' she told the Telegraph. 'I shouldn't have to look at anything [to tell me who's playing]. I should know. You can change tradition.' Perhaps it's down to Glastonbury just finishing and there being a number of pop stars in the country with time on their hands, but the royal box could have staged its own mini-festival on Tuesday with all the musical talent in its cushioned rows. The Glasto headliner Olivia Rodrigo was there, alongside Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and Tom Chaplin of Keane. With the rain passing early in the day, there was no need for Cliff Richard-style sing-alongs, which may have come as a relief to the crowd. You can only imagine the horror if Roy Hodgson and Thomas Tuchel – also guests on the day – had been tempted to join in. Sign up to The Recap The best of our sports journalism from the past seven days and a heads-up on the weekend's action after newsletter promotion SUVs. Those big boxy vehicles with their dual exhausts are all over SW19, usually sitting in traffic on the approach to the grounds. They're also to be found at the Championships too, where Range Rover is an official partner and the British carmaker's vehicles ferry people about the place. A campaign group, the SUV Alliance, is arguing that this deal should be nixed, claiming that such vehicles pose a risk to pedestrians. They cite a study published in the BMJ's journal of injury prevention that claimed the risk of a child dying after being hit by an SUV was an astonishing 82% higher than if hit by a passenger car. Sorry to end on a downer, but that's the way of the world. Additional reporting by Tumaini Carayol.

Wimbledon diary: Heatwave makes way for rain as Olivia Rodrigo visits Royal Box

In a perfect illustration of the changeable nature of Britain's weather, Monday and Tuesday's heatwave was followed by a glum morning and a spell of rain over SW19. Earlier in the week it felt unlikely that attendees would have cause to use an umbrella for anything other than shelter from the 30C-plus heat, but before play started on Wednesday all the methods used to avoid the sun were utilised again to stay out of the rain. The turf was covered and the rain cleared to allow play to begin just after 1pm on the outside courts, a delay on the intended 11am start time, but there were no hold-ups on Centre Court and Court One as play ran to time without the need to get under way with the roof closed. ***** Olivia Rodrigo, fresh from her triumphant headline slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, was present in the Royal Box as she extended her British sojourn to take in the sights at Wimbledon. Rodrigo wore Union Flag shorts during her festival performance and delivered a brief ode to M&S sweets, Colin the Caterpillar and British pub culture, after which she invited The Cure's Robert Smith on stage as a guest. She was joined in SW19 by her boyfriend, British actor Louis Partridge, and the pair were seen chatting to Olympic diver Tom Daley. Also present from the sporting world were golfer Tommy Fleetwood, former England manager Roy Hodgson and current England boss Thomas Tuchel. Dave Grohl, former Nirvana member and Foo Fighters founder, was also seen and so too was the American wrestler and actor John Cena. Quote of the day Aryna Sabalenka's advice to Alexander Zverev after his emotional press conference following a first-round loss, during which he described feeling 'alone' and 'empty'. Picture of the day Tweet of the day Thursday's match of the day Briton Dan Evans crosses paths with Novak Djokovic in the second round of the men's singles as the pair kick off the day four action on Centre Court. Wild card Evans, 35, has met the all-conquering Serb once before, with the two clashing at the 2021 Monte Carlo Masters and the Briton emerging a shock victor. Djokovic, 38, is on a mission to add a record 25th grand slam title and has made it clear he feels this tournament is likely his best chance of doing so. Thursday's weather forecast Sunny changing to cloudy in the afternoon with highs of 25C, according to the Met Office.
