Manchester United have a decision to make over their goalkeeping department with Andre Onana facing an uncertain future but one deal has already been confirmed by the Red Devils
Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek has signed a new contract with the Red Devils before completing a loan move to Bristol City. The 21-year-old is a product of the club's academy and has regularly been afforded chances to train with the first team at Carrington.

But instead of joining the side on their pre-season tour, Vitek has penned a new deal until the summer of 2028 and straight away moved to Championship side Bristol City on a season-long loan. The Czech Republic youth international has previously had spells on loan with Accrington Stanley and Austrian side Blau-Weiß Linz.

On completing his move to Ashton Gate, Vítek said: 'I'm really excited, for me the Championship is a new level. More games is a big positive for me and I can't wait to get to know all the players and staff better.'

Vitek will now hope to earn more experience having been tipped for big things by Academy lead goalkeeping coach Tommy Lee. He said: "Radek has done great out there in Austria.
'He got an injury early on but recovered extremely well and played really well. He has got really good experience there. I think we often use Radek as an example to some of the younger goalkeepers in the Academy.
'He is a player who maximises every part of the programme to ensure he is the best he can possibly be. Nutrition, gym, analysis. He is the consummate professional and that is going to take him, I believe, to the top level.
"He is a talented boy and that needs to be said. He's 6ft 6ins and that always helps! For the other lads, their challenge is to be as good as Radek and do everything he does and more. He is a great example of someone who does that."
Vitek's departure comes amid uncertainty within the goalkeeping ranks at Old Trafford. Current number one Andre Onana 's future is up in the air following a tricky couple of campaigns during his time with United.

Ruben Amorim's side have been linked with a host of potential replacements including Aston Villa star Emi Martinez. United have already lodged a loan bid for the 2022 World Cup winner but that was rebuffed by the Midlands side.
Senne Lammens of Royal Antwerp has also emerged as a potential option for United, albeit would be a far less experienced option that Martinez.

But by the time he rocked up at Dundee United at the age of 31, injuries had robbed him of his promising career. As well as being a pundit on Canal +, the 40-year-old former France international is now helping to develop footgolf in his country. He is the coach of the French footgolf team, who are hoping to retain their World Cup title next year in Mexico after success in Florida in 2023. And a recent post on his Instagram shows he can still play a bit as well! As he holed a shot from distance with precision and perfect weight at the Golf de Saint Donat in Cannes. He told Quotidien Du Sport earlier this year: "It's a sport that can be very frustrating because, on an 18-hole card, you can play really well for 17 holes and, if you mess up on the last one, it ruins everything. "So, to be consistent, you have to manage your nerves." A feeling most golfers and footgolf players alike can relate to! Sinama-Pongolle started out his football career in France at Le Havre before catching the attention of Liverpool and then-boss Gerard Houllier. He famously helped Liverpool win the Champions League in 2005 - even if injury prevented him from actually playing in the final - after his significant intervention against Olympiakos to keep them in the tournament. In an nomadic career after leaving the Reds, he played for Recreativo Huelva and Atletico Madrid in Spain, before moving to Sporting Lisbon in Portugal. He had unsuccessful loan spells with Zaragoza in Spain and Saint-Etienne in France, before switching to Rostov in Russia in 2012, where he ruptured his ACL in his right knee. Where are they now: The unusual careers of former footballers He had a brief spell in MLS with Chicago Fire before joining Lausanne-Sport though he never made an appearance after rupturing his ACL in his right knee for a second time during a training session. Then came his spell with Dundee United in the 2015-16 season after Mixu Paatelainien brought him in following a successful trial. But it never worked out after his three cruciate injuries, and he made just four appearances in his six-month spell as United were relegated from the top flight. He then moved to Thailand and played for Chainat Hornbill, winning the second division in 2017, before finishing his career for Saint-Pierroise on the island of Reunion where he started out as youngster. Man City re-sign goalkeeper Trafford from Burnley on five-year deal

July 29 (Reuters) - Goalkeeper James Trafford has returned to Manchester City on a five-year contract after helping Burnley earn a promotion back to the Premier League with the fewest goals conceded in the Championship last season, City said on Tuesday. Englishman Trafford, who won the golden glove with 29 clean sheets in the Championship last season, has re-joined the club where he spent eight years as a youth player for 27 million pounds ($36 million), English media reports said. 'Rejoining City is such special and proud moment both for me and my family. I always dreamed that one day I would be able to come back to Manchester City," Trafford said in a statement shared by City. 'This is the place I call home – it's a truly special football club with fantastic people who make it such a unique place to work and play." Trafford played on loan at third-tier sides Accrington Stanley and Bolton Wanderers before making a permanent move to Burnley in 2023, where he played his first full season in the Premier League, making 28 appearances as the club was relegated. But the six-foot-six keeper returned to form in the Championship last season, with Burnley conceding only 16 goals in the campaign, 14 fewer than champions Leeds United. "I am still very young and hungry to keep learning and improving – and I know there is no better environment than Manchester City to help make me become the best goalkeeper I can be," Trafford added. City, who begin their quest for a seventh Premier League title in nine seasons when they visit Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 16, said Trafford would wear the number one jersey. Impressive Mbeumo makes an impact

It was fascinating to sit down and talk to Bryan Mbeumo at Manchester United's team hotel on is not outwardly a massive character, quite quiet in many respects, certainly to the media sat opposite him round a small table. Neither is he the biggest in he lit the room up when he started to talk about his piano-playing and his love of is clearly far more to Mbeumo than meets the was interesting to liken the strategy of chess to playing football. Evidently, he puts quite a lot of thought into what happens on the pitch, which is why he has made steady improvement during his time at Brentford and his time there ended with an impressive 20 Premier League goals last is no guarantee of future success but it did make you feel he is giving a lot of thought to his career and that, as Ruben Amorim pointed out last week, there is more to his move to Manchester United than more from Mbeumo's interview
