2025 Big Ten Title Odds: 'People Are Seeing USC As The Value'
After Michigan won it all in 2023, four teams from the Big Ten reached the College Football Playoff last season, including now-defending national champion Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are co-favorites to win the 2025-26 CFP, too.
Yet, interestingly, in Big Ten championship odds at Caesars Sports, early money isn't landing where many might expect.
"USC is really the big story," Caesars Sports head of football trading Joey Feazel said. "USC opened 35/1 and is down to 16/1."
Feazel helps dive into how bettors are playing Big Ten Conference title odds.
Value Shopping
Ohio State is the tidy +190 favorite to win the Big Ten title this season. Penn State is close behind at +210, then defending Big Ten champ Oregon at +340. All three of those teams, along with Indiana, reached the College Football Playoff last season.
But bettors apparently want a little more bang for their buck in Big Ten football odds. Getting Southern Cal at +3500 looks pretty good right now. If you'd jumped on early with a $100 bet at 35/1, then you'd be looking at potentially $3,500 in profit with a USC conference title.
"USC is fourth in ticket count, but leading the money in futures wagers," Feazel said. "A lot of action is coming in on USC. People are seeing USC as the value.
"One thing we know: The Trojans have a good offense, but a defense with something to be desired. But they start out with a couple of cupcakes, and maybe they can build up from there."
Southern Cal hosts FCS foe Missouri State in the Aug. 30 opener, then hosts Sun Belt outfit Georgia Southern on Sept. 6.
Another popular team in Big Ten championship odds is a little less surprising to Feazel.
"The Nebraska Cornhuskers are leading the ticket count. That's the case almost every year," Feazel said. "There's always some hype in the offseason that the next season is when they return to their former glory.
"So there are a lot of tickets, but not necessarily a lot of money."
As such, you can still get Nebraska at +3500.
Parlay Play
Penn State is No. 2 in ticket count and money in Caesars' Big Ten championship odds, followed by Ohio State. But those two teams' short prices — and corresponding modest payouts if either win the conference title — have bettors looking for other ways to utilize the Big Ten's top two teams.
"Futures parlays are very popular now, and those two teams are very involved in those," Feazel said.
For example: With the Buckeyes at +190 to win the Big Ten, if a bettor parlays that with, say, Texas +360 to win the SEC and the Buffalo Bills +625 to win the Super Bowl, the payout is significantly better.
Add those three legs up in a parlay, and you've got odds of +9571, or about 96/1. So a $100 bet profits $9,571.50. However, all three legs have to get there. And as I often note: Parlays are a bookmaker's best friend. So keep that in mind.
A Turtle's Pace
Maryland is on the opposite side of the Big Ten championship odds coin. Almost no one believes in the Terrapins, who at +40000 (400/1) are the 16th choice at Caesars, among 18 teams.
"The anti-favorite action is on Maryland. The Terrapins have gotten one bet to win the Big Ten," Feazel said.
Only Northwestern and Purdue have longer Big Ten odds, both at +50000.

Notre Dame had its second fall practice and here are some clips shared on social media
There wasn't much shared early on Friday of Notre Dame football's second practice of the fall, but we did get to see an impressive clip of running back Jeremiyah Love looking very shifty going through a speed drill. Luckily, as the day went by, more short videos were shared on social media, some of them featuring your favorite Irish players. While the media members who shared them didn't get to see all of the action, they got enough to wet our whistle for Notre Dame football. The competition we are all paying attention to, the quarterbacks There isn't another more important fall competition than at quarterback, and it very much seems like Notre Dame's social media team knows that as well. Kenny Minchey got the rep from the full team scrimmage in the clip, and threw a very pretty ball to KK Smith, albeit with the second-team. The No. 10 that you see in the bottom right corner of the first set, yeah, that Tyler Buchner. He's shown he's the epitome of a team player for Notre Dame, as his experience will help the younger players get acclimated to this level. Buchner isn't in consideration for the starting job, but you'll see him on special teams and maybe a trick play or two. The freshman corners If you are good enough to see the field as a true freshman, head coach Marcus Freeman won't be afraid to put you on the field. We have seen many young Irish players getting plenty of early run in their careers, and both Dallas Golden and Mark Zackery could join that group. Last year, we saw Leonard Moore shine as a first-year player, and there are plenty of opportunities to make a mark in Notre Dame's secondary. Jaden Greathouse has another level Greathouse used the College Football Playoff to showcase that he could be an elite talent, but he may just be scratching his surface of what he can be. So far, it's been consistency holding him back, and after getting a taste of top-end success, it may have motivated Greathouse to take it to the next level. If he has added some speed to his already impressive skill set, he could end up being the No. 1 wide receiver the Irish have been looking for. The running back room is even deeper James was one of the last 2025 signees to make his commitment to Notre Dame, but he was worth the effort to flip him from Boston College. Although not highly ranked, he sure looks the part of a future difference maker at running back. It might be a little while before we see him on the field though, as Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price and Aneyas Willams most likely won't be jumped on the depth chart. James is the future at the position, and still could get some carries later in blowouts, without burning a redshirt year. Lions could pull off league-altering trade with Cowboys for Micah Parsons
The Detroit Lions are in desperate need of pass-rushing help, and the team could orchestrate a league-altering trade with the Dallas Cowboys for All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons. For The Win's Charles Curtis lists the Lions as one of the top six landing spots for Parsons, who could force his way out of Dallas soon. "The Super Bowl window is open in Motor City. Aidan Hutchinson is coming back from that horrible injury, so why not add another body to rush the QB?" Curtis wrote. The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported on Friday that Parsons and the Cowboys are still far apart on an extension, and it has gotten to a point where the superstar pass rusher is considering requesting a trade or cutting ties with the organization. "The Micah Parsons-Cowboys relationship has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team, per multiple league sources familiar with the situation," Russini wrote. "The two sides remain far apart heading into the second week of training camp, and are not currently negotiating." It's shocking that the Cowboys aren't willing to pay Parsons his desired contract. Since entering the league in 2021, the 26-year-old has tallied four straight double-digit sack campaigns and has earned four Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro nods. If Dallas decides to trade away Parsons, Detroit would be a logical landing spot. Pairing Aidan Hutchinson with Parsons on the Lions' defensive line would be lethal, and the move would elevate the Lions into the clear favorites in the NFC North and possibly the entire conference. Trading for the Penn State product and giving him a lucrative extension will be challenging, especially with Hutchinson also seeking a long-term deal. However, general manager Brad Holmes would be foolish not to look into a trade for Parsons, as the 2021 No.12 overall pick is a generational talent, and those types of players don't come on the trade market often. It still seems unlikely that Parsons won't be with the Cowboys for the foreseeable future, but with how the relationship looks between both sides right now, the chances of him leaving Dallas have skyrocketed.
