George Bowie's GBX bagpipe remix tops country music charts
Clyde 1 Presenter George Bowie achieved this feat on Sunday with his remix of Cammy Barnes' Whiskey Roll.
The idea for the remix came from a few Facebook friends who messaged Bowie's wife, manager, and co-producer, Ellene, suggesting a GBX remix of the song.

Bowie, Ellene, and their production partner, Outforce, created a rave version of the bagpipe anthem, which quickly gained popularity after being performed at Clubland Live.
The song, dubbed 'Raveheart' by international fans, amassed millions of views online.
Bowie said: "It was all a bit mad – a couple of people on socials messaged Ellene saying they thought we'd like the clip Cammy had posted and would we think about remixing it.
'She messaged Cammy asking if he fancied doing something and he was up for it, we jumped into Outforce's studio a couple of days later and the remix was done and ready to go in no time.
"It felt like it had something special and it just happened that I was playing Clubland at the Hydro on Sunday, so we asked Cammy to surprise the crowd by playing it live with us.
'It went crazy – at the time it felt like a really big moment and watching it back, it was.
"It was well over a million views on the Clubland post alone within a couple of days.
'We shot a video there and the demand has been huge, so we released the remix on Friday and Cammy joined us again in Aberdeen that night to perform it live – this time punters knew it was coming so the reaction was even madder.
'And now we are No 1 in the country chart and No 13 in the main chart.
"The annoying bit is it means my missus was right again."
George, Cammy, Outforce (Image: Supplied) Cammy Barnes, who recorded Whiskey Roll as an idea, was taken aback by the success.
He said: "It's really hard to take all this in, I didn't even plan to release the original it was just an idea.
"The reaction was wild – really crazy with 10,000 people all going mad when the bagpipes kicked in especially."
The GBX and Outforce remix of "Whiskey Roll" was released on Friday due to the overwhelming global response.

Bowie, said: "It's special, it really is – it was all so random and accidental and sometimes that brings a different feel, it's more real and natural."
Cammy said: "The remix is definitely going on my album later this year, even if my manager says no.
"I was dead against using bagpipes at all since leaving the Red Hot Chili Pipers, I just wanted to sing – but I am seriously rethinking all that now."

Oasis shut down roads in Cardiff as fans warned ahead of sold-out gigs
Liam and Noel Gallagher's highly anticipated comeback tour gets underway on Friday in Cardiff, south Wales, but Oasis fans have been warned it could be tough getting there Fans flocking to see Oasis ' first performance in 15 years have been warned it could be tricky getting to the stadium. The legendary group kick-off their tour on Friday with the first night of their 41-day run starting in Cardiff, and road closures could make things challenging. The M4 motorway is expected to be very busy as thousands descend of the city to witness the historic moment, the council say. It comes as Liam Gallagher has spilled more new details of the first show of the group's highly anticipated reunion tour and issued a stern warning to fans. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, this morning, Liam, 52, revealed what time fans can expect the first gig - and told them to be on time. A spokesman for Cardiff Council also urged people to leave plenty of time, saying : "The M4 motorway is expected to be very busy for these concerts - so please plan ahead - and avoid the congestion in Cardiff by using the park and ride at the car park by the Vindico Arena on International Drive in the Sports Village. For up to date traffic information on the motorway and trunk roads go to the Traffic Wales website, or @TrafficWalesS on Twitter and Facebook." The curtain raiser will be followed by a string of homecoming gigs in their native Manchester at Heaton Park and London's Wembley Stadium. They then play Edinburgh and Dublin before turning it into a world tour with dates in Chicago, Mexico, Tokyo, Melbourne, Sydney and Sao Paulo But if you missed out on getting Oasis tickets the first time round, there will be another chance to nab one - as the band confirmed this week that more tickets will be released very soon - just ahead of the Gallagher brothers hitting the road. What roads will be closed? From 7am, Scott Road and Park Street will be closed because of the need to prepare gate five and protect queuing fans, WalesOnline report. Apart from the Oasis concerts, when the roads will close at 12 noon, the following roads will be closed as part of the full city centre road closure which will take place at 3pm until midnight. Kingsway from its junction with North Road to its junction with Duke Street. Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Road to its junction with Westgate Street. Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Wood Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment). Plantagenet Street and Beauchamp Street from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted). The following roads will be closed in their entirety: Duke Street, Castle St, High Street, St Mary Street, Caroline Street, Wood Street, Central Square, Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, Park Street, Havelock Street and Scott Road. Station Terrace and Guildford Street from the junction with Newport Road to the junction with Churchill Way will be access for buses only during the times of the road closures. This is to ensure that there is reliable access for buses to the satellite points in Churchill Way. Additionally, Penarth Road will be closed 30 minutes before the concerts finish and for up to an hour after they finish, on safety grounds - for train passengers arriving and departing from the train station. Civic centre Access to part of the civic centre will be controlled throughout the day, with access allowed only for event parking, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks. Roads affected include King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road and Gorsedd Gardens Road. Train service arrangements To help manage the expected increase in passenger numbers, Transport for Wales (TfW) and Great Western Railway (GWR) will operate additional and strengthened services (trains with more carriages than usual) to get customers to and from the events smoothly. But some engineering works may impact services, and passengers are urged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey. The start of Oasis's sell-out tour will see GWR operate six extra trains to get people home again, providing almost 4,000 additional seats, for each of the two nights. For all events, those looking to travel by train are warned to check the time of their last train home, and to allow plenty of time. A queuing system will begin from 10pm and the queuing for mainline rail services will be on Central Square with the Valley queues at the rear of the station. Cardiff bus interchange will close at 12 noon for the Oasis concerts and at 3pm for the remaining concerts. Cardiff Queen Street Station will close at 10pm, unless customers have accessible requirements or are travelling to Cardiff Bay. Revenue protection inspectors will conduct ticket checks both before and after the events.

Dad's dash to save daughter after she went overboard on Disney Dream cruise ship
Disney cruise passengers were left shocked when a girl tumbled into the Atlantic Ocean with her dad jumping in to save her before a full rescue effort was launched A dad heroically raced to save his daughter after she fell overboard into the ocean during a Disney Dream cruise. Horrified passengers looked on as the girl fell overboard into the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday, sparking a rescue effort. The incident happened as the vessel sailed from Fort Lauderdale from the Bahamas with passengers being alerted to what happened by the emergency Mr M.O.B man overboard code being announced over the intercom. Bystanders raced to the railing when they realised a child fell overboard from Deck 4 and plunged into the water. But the girl's dad jumped in after in a bid to keep her afloat and alive. Disney crew members also sprung into action shortly afterward and lowered a yellow rescue vessel into the sea. MailOnline reported passenger Dewayne Smith posted to Facebook: "We re on the Disney Dream at sea today and just witnessed a first on a cruise. "A little girl fell overboard and her dad jumped overboard to try to save her. Man overboard calls went up immediately. The Disney crew went into action asap. Lots of praying folks on this ship! Both the little girl and dad were both successfully rescued." A clip shared by Dewayne showed the rescue vessel bobbing through the waters as crew brought the girl and her dad aboard as shocked guests looked on from the railings. When the pair made it onboard, bystanders were seen bursting into applause. "It was so intense to watch," passenger Janice Martin-Asuque, in a Facebook post. Disney Cruise Line praised its crew for the rescue. A spokesperson said: "The crew aboard the Disney Dream swiftly rescued two guests from the water. We commend our crew members for their exceptional skills and prompt actions, which ensured the safe return of both guests to the ship within minutes. "We are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests, and this incident highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols." While no serious injuries were reported, questions remained about how the child managed to fall over the ship's plexiglass barrier. The girl fell from Deck 4, which includes a jogging track and is lined with protective panels. The Mirror has contacted Disney Experiences, the branch which hosts the Disney cruise ships. There have been multiple incidents where passengers have fallen overboard while on cruises. In December, a passenger travelling on a Princess Cruise fell overboard, sparking a major search. Officials previously said the 72-year-old, fell overboard during the cruise from California to Mexico. Princess Cruises said it "ruled out other possibilities" and treated the passenger's disappearance as a man overboard incident after officials reviewed CCTV footage with the search being carried out across the sip several times without success.
