Air India crash: AAIB flags 'irresponsible' global media coverage, urges restraint amid ongoing probe

, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) on Thursday cautioned against 'selective and unverified reporting' by sections of the international media, calling such coverage irresponsible and potentially damaging to the probe's integrity.
It has come to our attention that certain sections of the international media are repeatedly attempting to draw conclusions through selective and unverified reporting, said AAIB on the deadly Air India Boeing plane crash last month that killed 260 people.
"Such actions are irresponsible, especially while the investigation remains ongoing. We urge both the public and the media to refrain from spreading premature narratives that risk undermining the integrity of the investigative process."

The purpose of the AAIB's investigation and preliminary report is to provide information about 'WHAT' happened, the investigating agency said.
AAIB added that the preliminary report has to be seen in this light. "At this stage, it is too early to reach to any definite conclusions. The investigation by AAIB is still not complete. The Final Investigation Report will come out with root causes and recommendations."

Though we filed a complaint with the Mumbai police, we asked them to hold off, hoping Shyam would come through. ' Puja and Kunal claimed they tried to settle the matter privately in May, but were shocked when Shyam's wife, Malabika Dey, filed a complaint accusing them of kidnapping, extortion and assault in Goa and an FIR was registered. 'We only wanted our money back. We stayed at a villa that Shyam arranged because we couldn't afford a hotel. He even returned `10 lakh, which gave us hope. So, we were shocked when his wife filed an FIR against us. Later, she filed another zero FIR in Kolkata, which was transferred to the Goa police,' said Puja. Talking about why they took so long to present their side of the story, Puja shared, 'We waited a month and a half to come forward because we were not in the right mental state. When the first FIR was filed against us, I broke down. Even though I knew the case was fake, I feared being arrested and separated from my child. For nights, I couldn't sleep and would cry while holding him. I've been on medication for panic attacks and blackout episodes. ' On July 16, Puja filed a complaint against Shyam for cheating and breach of trust, and an FIR was registered. Passenger steals Air India crew member's bag mid-air on Delhi-Hyderabad flight
HYDERABAD: A passenger reportedly stole the bag of an Air India cabin crew member mid-air during a flight from Delhi to Hyderabad on July 17. The 28-year-old victim, a resident of Uttam Nagar in Delhi, said that the theft occurred at around 5.10 pm while she was on duty. Her company-issued baggage, which contained a mobile phone, passport, official documents, a FOREX card and other items, was taken by a passenger. She attempted to contact the person by calling her phone. Initially, the man answered and claimed he had taken the bag by mistake and would return it. However, the phone was later switched off. The accused was identified as CPT Raja. The cabin crew member lodged a complaint with the RGI Airport police on July 18. A case has been registered under Section 305(a) of the BNS (Theft), and an investigation is underway.
