A new synopsis for the show was also shared, alongside a release schedule that confirmed a two-episode premiere and weekly drops every Tuesday:
'In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness).
The first hybrid prototype named 'Wendy' marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani's spaceship collides into Prodigy City, 'Wendy' and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.'
It was previously revealed that Alien: Earth would feature five monsters and mark the TV debut of a scarier Xenomorph. Noah Hawley ( Fargo, Legion ) directed and executive-produced the upcoming prequel, with franchise creator Ridley Scott also onboard as an executive producer. Other projects in the pipeline include a sequel to Alien: Romulus and a potential return to the Alien – Predator crossover universe with Predator: Badlands .
The series hits Hulu and Disney+ outside of the U.S. on 13 August.

'Predator: Badlands' Trailer Pits Teen Yautja Against Unkillable Apex Hunter
A new trailer for 20th Century Studios' upcoming sci-fi epic, Predator: Badlands , has dropped, giving a better look at its young Yautja protagonist in action alongside the Weyland-Yutani synth Thia, as they go from hunter to being hunted. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who returns to the franchise after helming 2022's Prey and the recent animated anthology Predator: Killer of Killers , the movie is set to shake things up by making the Predator its central figure this time around, instead of being the usual manhunt antagonist. In the trailer, the young Yautja Dek, played by actor Dimitrius Koloamatangi, selects the 'Death Plant' Kalisk as his hunting ground to prove his worth after being cast out from his clan. He teams up with Elle Fanning's ( Maleficent ) Thia, a talkative Weyland-Yutani synth whose body had been sliced in half, and together, the pair forms an uneasy alliance to seek out a massive creature described as 'the definitive apex predator', one that supposedly can't be killed. Despite being a capable fighter in his own right and possessing an arsenal of high-tech weaponry, taming the wilds of Kalisk seems no easy feat, as the trailer teases plenty of action in store, pitting Dek against grotesque tentacles, flying beasts, and the aforementioned apex hunter, a hulking monstrosity covered in spikes that towers over the duo. Alien threats aren't the only adversaries the pair must face, either, as the trailer also teases a showdown between a small army of what appears to be androids, culminating in a final confrontation between the giant alien monster and a mech reminiscent of the power loader from 1986's Alien , although it's unclear who was piloting the machine, although Thia is teased saying 'we might not be alone in this hunt', hinting at a mysterious third party. In any case, fans won't have to wait much longer to witness their favourite apex hunters in a whole new light, as Predator: Badlands hits theatres on 7 November 2025. ‘Superman' Has Two Post-Credits Scenes, But The True Teaser Lies Elsewhere
The world-breaking events of Superman may have wrapped up on a positive note by its conclusion, but two scenes awaited audiences in the credits. The mid-credits scene was a heartwarming yet brief scene, featuring a rare moment of bonding between Superman and the mischievous Krypto, seemingly taking a break from the havoc he had wrought throughout the film. The duo sit on the moon, gazing down on the Earth in a quiet scene that could easily be mistaken for a still. Superman and Krypto in Superman (2025) The more noteworthy of the post-credits scenes appeared at the end of the credits. In it, Superman (David Corenswet, Hollywood ) and Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi, For All Mankind ) inspect the damage done to the city after the events of the film's third act. A humorous interaction takes place between the two as Mister Terrific takes offence when Superman remarks on the shoddy reparation work. Mister Terrific storms off, as Superman apologises profusely, musing to himself that he 'can be a jerk sometimes'. Mister Terrific in Superman (2025) Though the scene is lighthearted and ultimately carries little weight for the future of the DC Universe that James Gunn ( Guardians of the Galaxy , The Suicide Squad ) is heading, it does give viewers a deeper glimpse into the collegial and friendly dynamic between Mister Terrific and Superman, while also demonstrating the extent to which our Big Blue Boy Scout truly cares about being a good and kind person. This consequently reinforces the humanity of these superheroes, which may often be overlooked in movies of this genre, once again displaying Gunn's unique blend of irreverent humour and emotional depth in his filmmaking. But if fans are disappointed in the lack of world-building teases in these two post-credits scenes, a tendency that has seemingly become a staple of the genre, they can at least look forward to a teaser in one of the film's ending scenes. In a concluding scene, as Superman heals and rests in his Fortress of Solitude, viewers are treated to the sight of his cousin, Supergirl, crash-landing into the fortress. Yes, you read that right. Milly Alcock's Supergirl has officially landed in the DC Universe, ahead of her solo outing scheduled for theatrical release on 26 June 2026. In the brief cameo, Alcock's Kara Zor-El, dressed in her comic-accurate costume and an overcoat, swings by to pick up her dog, Krypto, that her cousin, Clark, had been petsitting and flies off after thanking Clark and calling him an unsavoury word. Dialogue between Kal-El and Four, seemingly the most senior of his Superman robots, reveals that Kara has been unruly and is going through a bit of a rebellious streak, partying on various other planets. Milly Alcock on the set of Supergirl (2026) Although her appearance is fleeting, it certainly serves as an interesting introduction to the character that will only appear in her titular film next year. With James Gunn having previously stated in a DC Studios Showcase that his vision of Supergirl would be 'this little pixie-ish, but very attitudinal character', the Girl of Steel's appearance in Superman certainly lives up to this vision, teasing more rowdy adventures ahead. Until then, starting 10 July, fans can certainly look forward to the Man of Steel smashing expectations and obstacles alike in cinemas now. Sony's 'Helldivers 2' Lands Xbox Release in Aug, With PC and PlayStation Cross-Play
Xbox Series X/S gamers will soon be able to spread managed democracy for the glory of Super Earth, as Sony and Arrowhead Game Studios' cooperative third-person shooter Helldivers 2 is officially heading to Microsoft's console on 26 August this year. Dropping the news from orbit during an announcement stream, the game will also feature full cross-play with both the PS5 and PC, but is also currently available on the Xbox store for pre-order. Its release also marks a rather historic moment, as it will be the first ever Sony-published game on Xbox platforms, highlighting the former's shift in strategy to bring its games to a wider audience. 'We know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game,' wrote game director Mikael Eriksson in an announcement post on Xbox Wire. 'We have so much more in store for the future months and years – and the more players we have the more stories we can tell! The fight for Super Earth has only just begun.' Xbox players are due to join the fight in the game's overarching Galactic War, a real-time metagame where players work together to complete operations and liberate planets, facing off against the bug-like Terminids, the robotic Automatons, and most recently, taking the fight to Earth itself with the Heart of Democracy major update, defending the planet from mind-controlling xenophobic aliens known as the Illuminate. Having a whole new faction of console players is bound to give the game a healthy boost to its player base, especially important for one that adopts a live-service model. Within the genre, Helldivers 2 does stand out as one of its more successful titles, currently still holding its position in the top 30 titles on Steam's most played games list with a 24-hour peak of 45,745 concurrent players, more than a year after its launch in February last year. Its move to a new console and the inclusion of cross-play will likely increase this number further, as players can finally hop back into the game with their friends on Xbox. Players can airdrop in new reinforcements when Helldivers 2 launches for the Xbox Series X|S on 26 August 2025.
