According to Bahrain News Agency, the edict outlines the new appointments for the Bahrain Judo Federation Board of Directors for the 2025 – 2028 term. Dr. Faisal Khalid Kanoo has been appointed as President, alongside board members Abdulrahman Taha Mahmood Faqihi, Hakim Awad Aqla, Salem Mohammed Ayedh Al Otaibi, Mohammed Masha'allah Mohammed, Abdullah Jassim Najm Al Mannai, and Alaa Khalid Al Qattan.

HH Shaikh Khalid made these remarks while receiving the champions of the Khalid bin Hamad Golden Generation League and Cup for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons, along with players who won individual awards. The event was attended by several high-ranking officials and club presidents. During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in the players' high skill levels and strong competitive spirit. He emphasized that the Golden Generation League is a strategic initiative designed to discover young sports talents and develop their abilities, building a solid foundation to represent Bahrain's national teams in the future. 'We focus on creating a competitive environment that shapes a qualified generation with strong sports values and discipline, capable of competing at regional and international levels,' Shaikh Khalid said. 'This initiative has already shown great results, producing many promising talents who are expected to become the core of our national teams in the coming years. Our youth teams have also achieved many Gulf and Arab-level successes as a reflection of this program.' He confirmed the continued support for youth-focused initiatives in collaboration with federations and clubs and called for ongoing efforts to sustain the Golden Generation League and Cup. The goal is to achieve more successes that will positively impact Bahrain's sports future and produce more champions who proudly raise the country's flag internationally. The clubs honored in the Khalid bin Hamad Golden Generation League Hall of Fame include: Muharraq Club (football, basketball), Manama Club (football, basketball), Al-Najma Club (football), Riffa Club (football), Al-Ahli Club (volleyball, basketball), Barbar Club (handball), Al-Ittifaq Club (handball), Tubli Club (handball), Darkeib Club (volleyball), Al-Nasr Club (volleyball), Saar Club (table tennis), Maqaba Club (table tennis), A'ali Club (table tennis), Al-Hidd Club (football), Al-Hala Club (basketball), Samahij Club (handball), Bahrain Club (table tennis), Al-Malkiya Club (football), Al-Dair Club (handball), Bani Jamra Club (cycling), Elite Academy (cycling), and MM Academy (cycling).

Bahrain Plans First-Ever Regional Water Sports Excellence Center

Bahrain is taking a major step toward becoming a regional hub for water sports. A coordination meeting was recently held between the Bahrain Aquatics Federation and a delegation from the World Aquatics Federation to discuss the creation of the Bahrain Center of Excellence, supported by GFH Financial Group in collaboration with the University of Technology Bahrain. The upcoming center will be the first of its kind in the Middle East, serving as a regional platform to train and develop talents in swimming, diving, artistic swimming, open water swimming, and water polo—all in line with international standards. Present at the meeting were Abdulla Atiya, President of the Bahrain Aquatics Federation, Ahmed Abdulghaffar, Executive Director of Operations at the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Farhan Saleh, a board member of the federation.
