BREAKING: Four-Star CB Dorian Barney has Committed to Michigan, he tells me for @rivalsThe 6'1 185 CB from Carrollton, GA chose the Wolverines over Ole Miss, Penn State, & Texas A&M'I know being a Michigan man I will succeed in every way possible! 〽️'https://t.co/ELH7NXEHVt pic.twitter.com/CRKQjX3zlB
Michigan football entered the weekend with two cornerbacks committed -- Andre Clarke and Brody Jennings -- but the latter ended up flipping to Miami on Saturday.
It took quite some time in the process before the maize and blue had some traction, as it appeared he was likely Penn State-bound, but 2026 Carrollton (Ga.) four-star cornerback visited Ann Arbor for Victors Weekend and apparently made a move. Texas A&M and Georgia Tech also posed major threats, but soon after his official visit, Michigan football started getting predictions he'd end up in Ann Arbor.
That came to fruition on Saturday as Barney committed to the Wolverines. He made his commitment live on the Rivals YouTube channel.
Barney is Michigan's 21st commitment in the 2026 class, and the remaining targets are now few. Five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell is also set to decide on Saturday, five-star running back Savion Hiter is setting a commitment date soon, and four-star safety Davon Benjamin is likely to decide in early August. Michigan is still working on four-star linebackers Nick Abrams II and Brayden Rouse.
Here is the class as it currently stands:
All rankings by the 247Sports Composite
Barney is the second prospect that Michigan has gotten from the state of Georgia. Georgia, Virginia, Texas, and Washington D.C. appear to be the hottest areas for Michigan football recruiting in 2026.

Levi Onwuzurike Undergoes Season-Ending Surgery in Latest Blow to Lions' D-Line

Detroit Lions defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike is out for the season after having knee surgery, a setback for a franchise that was counting on him to fill in for Alim McNeill. Lions coach Dan Campbell made the announcement on Sunday morning, just before his team had the NFL's first training camp practice of the year. The 27-year-old Onwuzurike started in a career-high 11 games last season, including Detroit's loss to Washington in the divisional round. His playing time increased when McNeill had a season-ending knee injury in December. McNeill, who signed a $97 million, four-year contract extension last October, is out indefinitely. Onwuzurike's injury gives rookie defensive tackle Tyleik Williams a chance to play a significant role when the two-time defending NFC North champions kick off the season Sept. 7 against the Green Bay Packers. Detroit drafted the former Ohio State standout with the 28th overall pick in the draft. The 6-foot-3, 334-pounder started 13 games for the national champion Buckeyes and had 46 tackles, including eight for losses and 2.5 sacks. The Lions will also lean on 31-year-old defensive tackle DJ Reader and newly acquired veteran Roy Lopez, who started 16 games last season for Arizona and has 50 career starts with the Cardinals and Houston Texans.
