Ernakulam district planning committee gives approval for health projects
Kochi: District planning committee (DPC) gave its approval for health projects designed by 18 local bodies, including Kochi corporation. Now, local bodies can begin steps to implement projects. Health grant projects of corporation, Tripunithura, Eloor, Piravom and Angamaly municipalities, Vadavucode block panchayat and Choornikkara, Palluruthy, Ayyampuzha, Varapuzha, Mulanthuruthy, Poothrikka, Maneed, Vengola, Vengoor, Njarakkal and Asamannoor village panchayats received approval. Additionally, local bodies seeking approval for project amendments, including spillover projects, were also granted permission. Report submitted by Kunnathunad panchayat secretary regarding complaints about projects for 2025-26 financial year was discussed in the meeting. It was decided to organize a review meeting under the leadership of planning committee members from July 7 to evaluate the progress of various projects. Meanwhile, Ernakulam district panchayat designed Arogyalakshmi project, which aims to support health of women using traditional medicine systems. Ayurvedic medicine worth Rs 1.6 crore will be supplied to women through the project.
