Siraj's six-for is also the best bowling performance by an Indian at Edgbaston since Chetan Sharma's 6/58 in 1986 and the first by any visiting pacer to take six wickets in an innings at the ground since 1993.

"It's unbelievable because I was waiting for this for a long time," Siraj said after the innings. "I have bowled well but never got a five-for here. I have only got four-fors, so this one is very special."

(158) and Jamie Smith (184*) brought the hosts back into the game. But Siraj returned with the second new ball to wipe out the tail, ending England's innings at 407 in reply to India's 587.
Leading an inexperienced pace attack in the absence of

, Siraj embraced the responsibility. "My aim was to not try too much and bowl in the right areas. I love responsibility and I love the challenge," he said.
As he walked off, ball raised high and applauded from all corners, Siraj was greeted with a warm hug by Bumrah himself — a fitting tribute to India's new pace spearhead.

At just 14 years old, he became the fastest and youngest batter to score a century in Youth ODIs. The Bihar-born cricketer achieved the feat in the fourth YODI between India U-19 and England U-19 on Saturday. Suryavanshi's knock was made up of 13 boundaries and 10 sixes and he batted with an impressive strike rate of 183.33. Thanks to his explosive knock, India U-19 defeated England U-19 by 55 runs to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series. After the match, Suryavanshi said his inspiration came from watching India Test captain Shubman Gill bat. It is now the second-highest aggregate in a Test match. 'I got a lot of inspiration from him (Gill) because I saw the game. After making 100 and 200, he didn't leave the game and took the team ahead. I will try to make 200 in the next match. Next time, I will try to play full fifty overs. The more I make runs, the better it will be for my team. I will try to play the whole game in the next game. The left-hander said he could have batted for more overs had he shown some more caution. 'I could have batted a bit longer because I had a lot of time. After that (his dismissal), there were 20 overs left. So, I could have made it longer. There was a shot (that he got out) that I couldn't give my 100%, that's why I couldn't do it,' he said. Tinku praised Gill's technical foundation and composure, expressing confidence that this is just the beginning of a record-breaking career. With a whopping 430 runs across both innings, Gill has the second-highest aggregate of runs in a single Test, behind England's Graham Gooch, who had an output of 456 runs after scoring 333 and 123 against India at Lord's back in 1990. Gill became the second batter to register 150-plus scores in both innings of a Test after Allan Border (150* & 153) against Pakistan in Lahore in 1980. Gill's outing is also the first instance of a 250-plus and 150-plus score in a Test by a batter. The 25-year-old is only the second Indian, after Gavaskar, to hit a double century and a century in the same Test. He has outdone ex-skipper and legendary batter Virat (243 and 50) to have the highest aggregate by an Indian captain in a Test match. Gill is the second Asian batter with 350-plus aggregate in a Test outside the subcontinent after Pakistan's Hanif Mohammad (354: 17 and 337) at Bridgetown in 1958.
