Guns allegedly made with 3D printer, drugs seized during Santa Rosa arrest

Yahoo12-04-2025
(KRON) — A 34-year-old man from Santa Rosa was arrested on April 11 for allegedly making numerous 3D-printed guns and drug possession, Santa Rosa Police say.
Suspect Michael McGarvey was pulled over by Santa Rosa Police Department Special Enforcement Team officers at approximately 9:04 a.m. Friday. Officers determined that McGarvey was on probation out of Sonoma County and proceeded to search his black Honda Civic.
During the search, officers found a secret compartment containing suspected narcotics.
'The officers conducted a search of the vehicle based on McGarvey's probation terms and found a hidden compartment behind the driver's door panel where they discovered approximately 2.5 grams of a suspected narcotic,' SRPD said.

Following the traffic stop, officers searched McGarvey's home on the 2400 block of Dayton Street in Santa Rosa. During the search, officers found two 3D printers that were allegedly used to make at least six guns found inside the home.
'The officers located 6 firearm precursor parts along with a 3D-printed unconventional .22-caliber pistol, which did not have any serial number or a rifled barrel,' SRPD said. 'The [firearm precursor parts] and unconventional pistol were concealed in a zippered chair cushion near the 3D printer.'
California law prohibits the use of 3D printers to manufacture guns or gun parts without a firearm manufacturing license. McGarvey was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including possession of an unconventional pistol, six firearm precursory parts, the use of a 3D printer to manufacture gun parts, drug possession and probation violation.

10-year-old boy ditched at airport by parents who realized his passport was expired upon arrival at airport

An unnamed mother and father allegedly abandoned a 10-year-old boy at an airport in Spain and boarded without him after realizing his passport was expired In a scene one airport staffer described as "utterly surreal,' a couple allegedly abandoned their 10‑year‑old son at a Spanish airport after discovering his travel documents were invalid. With the boy's Spanish passport expired and no visa in hand, the parents reportedly opted to board their flight anyway—arranging for a relative to meet and collect him at the terminal while they departed. An airport staffer claims to have witnessed the incident According to Lilian—a staff coordinator who shared the incident in a TikTok video now viewed by hundreds of thousands—the child told authorities his parents were already on board and en route to their home country for vacation. When airport and police personnel located the boy alone, they immediately informed the plane's pilot, who then asked passengers if anyone had left a child behind. No one came forward. Eventually, officers identified the parents, who were traveling with another younger child. They were taken to the airport's police station—along with the boy—after authorities removed their six suitcases from the flight. Lilian questioned how someone could calmly board a plane and leave a 10‑year‑old unattended, even with assurances a relative would arrive within an hour or more. The fate of the parents is still unknown It's not yet known whether the parents have been formally charged or faced any legal consequences. Their nationality hasn't been disclosed, and the claims remain unverified beyond the coordinator's TikTok account. Not the 1st case of children left behind or unattended at airports Back in 2018, a couple in Germany forgot their five-year-old daughter at Berlin's Stuttgart Airport, claiming they'd each thought the other parent had taken charge of her. More recently, an unattended two-year-old was swept away on a luggage conveyor belt and dropped down a chute at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport in late May. Auburn police officer arrested in domestic incident investigation

An Auburn police officer was recently arrested following an investigation into a domestic incident reported in July, authorities said Friday. Auburn Police Chief Bryan Morrison made the announcement and said the arrest was made by the Lincoln Police Department. While details of the incident have not been released, Chief Morrison said the officer's name would not be released due to the officer being both a victim and a suspect. Auburn police confirmed that the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation. Morrison emphasized that placing the officer on administrative leave is a standard procedure and "not an indication of guilt." "Given the nature of the reported incident, we are treating this with the utmost regard," Chief Morrison said. "We understand the community expects transparency from its police department and law enforcement officers. To promote that we are ensuring that a thorough and impartial internal investigation occurs." The officer was booked into the Placer County Jail back on July 14 but posted bail and was released, Auburn police confirmed. CBS Sacramento reached out to the Lincoln Police Department for further comment but has not yet received a response.
