" Kaat Dein?" MS Dhoni Seeks Permission Before Cutting Cake On 44th Birthday. Video Viral

Legendary India captain MS Dhoni turned 44 on Monday, and celebrated the occasion with his friends in Ranchi. In a viral video, Dhoni is seen seeking permission before cutting a cake on his 44th birthday. "Kaat dein? (Can I cut it now?)," Dhoni can be seen asking the guy who was capturing the moment. After putting the knife on the cake, Dhoni made sure that everyone got a piece of it and also took small bites of it when others approached him to feed the cake. MS Dhoni celebrating his 44th Birthday — (@WorshipDhoni) July 7, 2025 Dhoni remains an active cricketer exclusively in the Indian Premier League, havind retired from internationals in August 2020. Rated highly for his calmness under pressure which would make most crumble helplessly, and his tactical excellence, Dhoni, since his international debut in 2004 till now, during these last few years of his career with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has made a name for himself as one of India's most beloved sons, who has given back to his country and city of Ranchi, everything it could have asked him for. With 17,266 international runs, 829 dismissals and 538 matches across formats for India, Dhoni is not only amongst the world's greatest players but also a revolutionary. Besides Australia's Adam Gilchrist, he was among the first wicketkeeper-batters who showed the world that keepers could bat really well. At a time when the bare minimum of catching and stumping was required out of a wicketkeeper, Dhoni pushed the envelope further, contributing runs with the consistency and hunger of a top-order batting giant. He formed a formidable middle-order with Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina. Dhoni's strongest format is the ODIs. In 350 ODIs, he scored 10,773 runs at an average of 50.57. He scored 10 centuries and 73 fifties for India, with the best score of 183*. He is India's sixth-highest scorer in ODIs (with Sachin Tendulkar at the top with 18,426 runs). The fact that he managed to score 10,000-plus runs at an average of over 50 while coming down the order makes his statistics even more astonishing. He led India in 200 ODI matches, winning 110, losing 74. Five games were tied, while 11 failed to produce a result. He has a winning percentage of 55. Dhoni has won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013 for India as a skipper. Coming to his long-format career, Dhoni played 90 matches, scoring 4,876 runs at an average of 38.09. He scored six centuries and 33 half-centuries, with the best score of 224. He is the 14th-highest scorer for India in Tests. As a captain, he led India in 60 Test matches, out of which they won 27 matches, lost 18 and drew 15. With a win percentage of 45.00, he is one of India's most successful skippers across all eras. He led Team India to the number one ranking in the ICC Test Rankings. He is also the only Indian skipper to whitewash Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, doing so in the 2010-11 and 2012-13 series.

‘Such a brother is rare': Akash Deep's sister, who has cancer, says has now runs the house after father's and brother's death

India pacer Akash Deep led the team to a 336-run win in the second Test against England at Edgbaston with a remarkable 10-wicket haul. Brought into the squad as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, Akash's bowling performance was a key factor in India's victory. Following the match, Akash dedicated the performance to his sister, Akhand Jyoti, who is undergoing treatment for cancer. Sister's emotional reaction to Akash's dedication Akash's sister Jyoti, who is battling stage three cancer, said she was not expecting her brother to speak publicly about her condition. Speaking to India Today, she said, "I had no idea Akash would say something like that. Maybe we weren't ready to talk about it publicly, but the way he became emotional and said it for me—dedicating it to me—it's a big deal. It shows how much he loves our family and me. Given the situation at home, and still performing like that and taking wickets there, it's a huge thing. I'm the one he is closest to." — PTI_News (@PTI_News) Akash Deep's sister speaks about her brother's journey Jyoti said Akash has always shown care and dedication. "Akash has dedicated his biggest achievement to me, I am feeling very proud. He has made the country proud. He was youngest among the siblings, but he would care a lot. He used to play cricket a lot, win trophies, we would get happy... My treatment is going on here, cancer was detected two months back, he would practice here, would visit the hospital every day to meet me. He takes the blessings of mother before playing the games." Family support before the England tour Jyoti recalled meeting Akash before he left for the England tour and asking him to focus on his cricket. "It is a matter of pride for India—he has taken 10 wickets. Before the England tour, we went to meet him at the airport. I told him, 'I'm absolutely fine, don't worry about me, just do well for the country.' I am in the third stage (of cancer), and the doctor has said the treatment will go on for six more months, after which we'll see." She also said the family always celebrates his success. "It makes me very happy when Akash takes wickets. Whenever he gets a wicket, all of us start clapping and cheering so loudly that the neighbours in the colony ask what has happened!" Live Events Akash stayed connected during the IPL season Jyoti said her treatment had started during the Indian Premier League when Akash was playing for the Lucknow franchise. Despite his busy schedule, he remained in touch with the family and visited her at the hospital. "When the IPL was going on and he was playing for the Lucknow team, I was admitted to the hospital for cancer treatment. Even then, he would come meet me either before or after the matches." Emotional moment after the Edgbaston match After the Test match ended, Akash video-called Jyoti twice, once during the night and again at 5 a.m. She described the moment as emotional. "After the match ended, we spoke twice over video call, and again at 5 a.m. in the morning. Akash told me, 'Don't worry, the whole country is with us.' He said, 'I couldn't hold it in anymore. I had been trying to, but yesterday I just couldn't stop myself.'" Akash steps up as family's pillar Jyoti described Akash as the one holding the family together after the death of their father and elder brother. "Such a brother is rare. He helps us a lot and doesn't do anything without talking to us. He shares everything with the family. Since our father and eldest brother are no longer with us, he is the one now managing the whole household."

IND vs ENG: Will Jofra Archer make England Test return after four years at Lord's? Captain Ben Stokes reveals insights

England are likely to make some wholesome changes in their bowling line-up at Lord's with a possibility of Jofra Archer returning in whites for the first time in four years in the third Test against India, starting from July 10. The England bowling attack which comprises of Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse, have leaked out 835 runs in the first Test and 1014 runs in the second, thus raising serious eyebrows. With the Indian batters in scintillating form, the England pace attack looked toothless in both the Tests. England captain Ben Stokes hinted at a few changes in the third Test after the hosts were humiliated by 336 runs at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Archer, who last played a Test match for England in 2021, have made an international comeback last year after being on and off the field due to injuries. He was initially in contention for the first Test against India at Headingley but had to be ruled out due to a thumb injury he sustained during the Indian Premier League while playing for Rajasthan Royals. He was added to the squad for the second Test but couldn't make it to the finl XI. With the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy level at 1-1, England would potentially bring in Archer at Lord's. 'That'll be a decision we have to make, seeing how everyone comes together," replied Stokes when asked about Archer's inclusion in the third Test. "We've had him here this week to get around the group and build him up with his workloads and everything. So, everyone's being considered for the game at Lord's,' added the England captain.
